Alrighty! I've been a little lax on this as we were setting up the new look. I have to get the new fic guidelines up and then I'll be back to updating the Fic page. I'm posting because I need more posts :rolleyes: :D :lol: and becasue I need some author interaction here.

I'm testing out Sam's guestbook idea. This is primarily to allow people who do not belong to the forum and do not want to join the forum a chance to leave feedback for the authors as well as possibly provide valuable reviews for future readers.

If this gets abused it will be removed. I will be posting a notice on proper feedback/review etiquette on the site so once it's all in place I'll let you know and will expect authors to report any abusive messages as I will not have time to check everything daily.

If you'd like to see what it looks like please visit my author homepage, scroll to the bottom and you'll see the guestbook buttons. I figured I'd be the guinea pig if you all want to try it out.

One last thing, there is a feature that will allow an email to be sent to you when someone posts in your guestbook. I can do that per author so if you'd like that feature, I will need an email address. This address will not be viewable by the poster, it is an internal thing that will just notify you that a post has been made, similar to the topic subscription on the forum.

So go give it a try and let me know what you think.

OT, when do you think Tpel's two fics might be going up? They're favorites of mine and I'd like to be able to link to them again.

That was Telegram Sam's idea and I think it's going to work very well.

Tpel's fics are MIA right now :( . I have found several author's stories missing. Fortunately we have been able to recover most of them but I'm still working on regaining those and a few others.

I have to check my sent mail and see if I have sent her an email about this in hopes that she still has them. If not I think she originally posted them at the Fox boards and I thought they might have been posted on FF.net or some other site so I'm hopeful that we'll be able to recover those.

Thanks for keeping up on things and reminding me! Since I'm working from top to bottom alphabetically it might have been a while before I noticed that again! :)

Now on to business. We've made this little part of the forum an area where only the admin or the mods can post so we can keep it free of clutter. (Yeah, :rolleyes: like we're such an organized group :blink: ! :lol: ). Anyhow, if you have comments on any of this just drop the originator a PM or start a thread in the Member/OT area.

Now on to real business! there is some imprtant stuff throughout this so if you're an author, please read it all. (Trust me, your finished author and fic pages will be worth slogging through my babble!)

I have finally completed an Author Page and subsequent fic pages. B) Now since finished is a subjective term, there may be some tweaking as far as converting some thing to the proper format behind the scene's but the look of the page will remain the same.

Auditrix! Why? Because! I just happen to have her's to a stage where I only needed a few things from her and we've gotten together and completed it. Here's a ink if you all want to take a look Aud's Author Page and leave her some feedback of course :D

This will give the rest of the authors an idea of the layout of their finished page so be thinking on the things you may want to change so when I get to yours you are ready.

Mostly what I'm finding I need is profiles and fic profiles so if you do not have these completed you've got some time to work on them. If you finish and you still haven't heard from me, just email them to me and I'll get them up.

I'm trying to work down the list and since it's alphabetical...

I'm hung up on Betz right now as she is very prolific (We like prolific Betz!!!) and getting all the links set up right is taking some time. Should be through there soon since I'm down to adding the poetry links.(Look for your email soon! :o )

I'm also going to go ahead and add the guestbooks but most of the pages will need some internal adjustments before I can add them. It will take some time but I hope to have them all up in the next week. I'm starting at the bottom on these so you folks with the "T" names will get some attention now too!

Two things on the guestbooks First and most important is, each guestbook has a setting that allows for an email to be sent everytime there is a post to your guestbook. If you would like that feature enabled I will need an email address from you. This address will not be viewable or accessible by the people who are posting, it is an internal feature.

Next, as I add these I will put up a generic greeting that poster will see when they click on the "Sign my guestbook" button. (Take a look at Aud's for an idea of what I'm talking about). If you want something a little more spicy feel free to email or PM me the message you want in there and I'll add that instead.

There is also an end greeting once they've posted. The default one is "Thank you for your comments" but again that can be changed. The same applies.

As I work through, I will be emailing each author to confirm some things and ask questions that are specific to that author so until you get that, you have time to think and polish things!

Okay, thanks to Aud I've been able to add Tpel1's fics back to the site along with PPD's fic. I'm still searching for a few MIA items.

I have the author pages and fic pages thru PipTook done. There will be some minor tweaking as I get information but for the most part they are set.

If you are an author, you should be getting an email from me in the next week or so requesting any information I'm still missing.

As a quick general thing to all authors I will need "Fic Profiles". Take a look at Auditrix's Author Pageor Betz's Author Page to get an idea of what info we're looking for. If you still have questions, please drop me an email and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Next we'll need an intro or welcome for the guestbook as well as a closing message. I can put a generic message up but if you want to customize it, now's the time.

Also if you could check out your Author Page and fic/poem pages and make sure it all looks as you want it. Please check for mispellings and broken links or links that go to the wrong fic. I have tried to check them but I am also trying to get this done so that all the author's can have a finished page. I may have missed one in my rush so if you find one drop me an email and I'll get it fixed next time I'm in.

Thank you guy for being so patient and understanding while we get this all together. I hope you all benefit greatly from it and get some good web exposure.

All of the Author Pages are finished and linked (except poor Sanlin's, which is going to take me about a day's work to do. Next one the list Sanlin I promise.). FINALLY!!

I still have some older fic that were MIA to add but I wanted to get everyone done before I get hung on that. SO please give them a look and let me know if there are problems.
