Episode Detail: House Deception
Airings: FOX - Tuesday, 13, 09:00 PM

House meets a hard-drinking, quick-thinking woman (Cynthia Nixon) at an offtrack betting parlor just before she has a seizure. Later, at the hospital, she seems strangely unconcerned when Cameron tells her that she has fast-killing pancreatic cancer. Meanwhile, in the wake of Chase's disciplinary hearing, Foreman is temporarily in charge of the unit, but that doesn't mean he'll get a lot of respect from his new underling House.

Unconcerned about fast acting cancer??? :(  And a betting parlor? Didn't think/know House was a gambler.

Should be good - but not until the 13th :( :(

Oh yes, this should be good. Like we'd expect anything else from House! :P He's going to push every button Foreman has and then some. Plus I have a feeling he's going to be particularly annoying to Cuddy as well!

"$50 says he's not the daddy."

House is a gambler. How many times has he made and collected on serious bets over patients? He won $600 from Wilson over the above bet.

Yeah, I'm just wondering when FOX is going to quit with the games on one of the best, most successful shows they have and start bumping some of the crap they air instead!!!

I'm still desperately clinging to the hope that they'll leave it on Tuesday nights at 9 and can AI!

I don't like Mondays at 8:00 either, but that seems like a done deal, unless something weird happens***. It just too early in the evening for a show like that or at least in my opinion. At least it's on the schedule. I have to wait until March to see the final 9 episodes of Prison Break (March...grrr! Better than May in which FOX was threatening to air them, but still...grr).

Everybody together now...stupid FOX!

*** What do you know...something weird happened! (see general chat)

Jaxgirl...

Somebody up there likes us! :D

You got that right! ;)

It requires a level of maths and attention that is beyond me to work out which 'season' is happening at this point in the season. I figure that the lack of long sleeve shirts and much sun makes it summertime- but I don't think that works with the dates tossed around in The Mistake. If it's autumn- do they have jumps or steeplechase meets in the US? I used to be well into the ponies and I thought it was mostly summer flat/ Breeder's Cup racing? Or are all-weather tracks popular?

Mind you- it has to be easier to work out the Space/Time continium at PPTH than a floor plan ;)

I've always assumed that races happen year round, it's just that the most popular (and storied) races, like the Kentucky Derby, occur in the summer. The city where I live has a couple of dog tracks and if there are not actual races going on at the track, they show races from around the country via satellite. Of course don't take my word for it. If I tend to gamble, it's with cards.

Yeah, it is pretty much year round. I think many of the OTB places have satellite feeds of races from all over the place and since it stays pretty warm in the south during the winter I'm sure they run year round.

We have two tracks just north of us and the trotters run year round but the thoroughbred track closes for the winter. So I guess it just depends on the track and the horse owners.

Cheers guys! I now understand that an 'off-track betting parlour' doesn't have to be next to the track. We have guys who stand track-side as opposed to the kiosks in the stands and that is what I thought it meant. A high street bookies makes sense, they will take bets on anything. I have 15/1 on snow falling anywhere in the British Isles on Christmas Day- I need help, I know :) .
