Attempted non dwelling burglary that occurred night of 30.01.08 - unidentified persons attempted to force entry to a tack room in the early hours on Underhill Lane, Westmeston. Two weeks previously a local resident saw a grey/silver 4x4 japanese type vehicle in suspicious circumstances at the location, the vehicle contained a young male and female. This was viewed with suspicion at the time.

A couple of stables (separate neighboring yards) were broken into a week ago near to Oaks Poultry Farm, Common Lane, Ditchling - a few items were stolen of no real value. However on 29.1.2008 (Tues night) – thieves returned to the same stables/yards and took the chickens as well as the chicken house.

Apparently a golf cart was stolen from Hassocks and head collars and ropes have been stolen in various places/areas where they have been left by gateways, in yards etc plus yard tools have also gone missing.
