The Flames play later tonight. They won their last game and Kipper got another shutout against the Nashville Predators. Kipper leads the NHL with wins and shutouts. My boy, Rhett Warrener, an assistant captain on the team as a defenceman, is back after being hurt for a couple games. The Flames lead the Northwest division. Flames in the Stanley Cup baby!

Some of you know I, err Alameda, whoever I am, was on a job hunt. I just nailed down my 1st choice. It pays about 3 times what I'm used to getting as a teacher!! :o

We need accountablity and a pay raise. Get rid of tenure.

Did you know only 2 out of 80,000 teachers were fired in the past 2 years? (I'm faily cetain of that stat). One of them was fired for sending kiddy porn type messages to a 16 year old girl. It took them 2 years and hundreds of thousands of dollars to finally get rid of the SOB.

Talk about time and money well spent...not. The Teacher's Union is a disgrace. They don't care about the children, they care abou thier own asses.

Get rid of tenure, put in accountability (like every other job in the world) and give them a pay raise. Before you know it we'll start seeing some improvements in the educational system.

To be honest, that doesn't surprise me at all. The Teachers' Union was made in the first place to protect the working rights of the teachers. Of course it's not going to side with the students. The most it will do is stay out of a dispute, or possibly remove the teacher from the union, but it's never going to directly stick up for a student.

Depends on the age, for an elementary school kid I would but for a smart mouthed highschooler they deserve to be slapped.

Do you think I'm too harsh on you in the Reforms thread Alameda? I'm only trying to get you ready for the outside world.

I live and WORK everyday in the outside world.

I don't think you are being 'harsh' in the slightest.

Perhaps a tad ungreatful and unsupportive, but then you've never seen just what it takes to actually organize and build a website. So I'm not taking exception to it at all.

The fact is I jumped on board this thing to offer some help. Now I'm left playing the role of "Project Manager" "Lead website designer/coder (sole for that matter)" "database admin" and "forum creator".

It's alot to have on one plate when you have a real life full time job and a real life full time family.

So no, you aren't being harsh. But maybe show some support (even if only verbally)and some understanding in what I'm actually attempting to do in the name of friends and fun. And maybe a little less cynisism and 'peanut gallery' remarks.

That's all. :)

And that's all I'm asking in return for my services, for that matter.

I forgot to add that I like the puppy on the left side. It's cute.

However, I did give you the idea of a Monthly Book Club. Lots of support there.
