Miborovsky - February 11, 2005 11:43 PM (GMT)
Hm? 7 members already and still no self introduction???

Alrighty.

mib (that's all lower-case, and NO it does NOT stand for men in black)
I'm 16 and still without a license.
Ethnic Chinese living in the good ole US of A, Washington State.
I'm a non-denominational Christian.
Politically, a left wing radical.
Socially a right wing conservative.

Interests: Propaganda. ALL sorts of propaganda. And comp games, too. :P

helliax - February 11, 2005 11:56 PM (GMT)
Hey! I too am ethnically Chinese!
21. Don't drink.
Interested in military history and science, though more of a hobby than a real interest.
Live in EST. USA.

I like hot babes. Jessica Alba, Eliza Dushku, JLH (Who is in new Maxim!!!), and Ayumi Kinoshita. Probably hotter asian chicks, but seriously, they all look the same after a while. And that's comign from an Asian.

I try not to get too deep into politics, like which side is right or wrong, etc. Simply because I have views from both sides. I never really bothered to figure out what exactly is left and what exactly is right, cause I don't feel it's important. What is more important are your ideas and whether they make sense. I've recently developed a small interest in how to run a country, starting from a simple band of people. A la Lord of the Flies.

I cannot spell (only speel), and I cannot do elementary math, such as multiplcation, addition, etc. Despite being a math minor. It's sad, I know.

I like collecting sharp pointy objects. Like swords. But not guns, they're just too dangerous to have 60 of them lying around. Swords are easy because you really need strength and actual will to do damage. You can't "accidentally" kill someone with one as easily as a gun.

Oh, I also like hot babes.

NecroBrit - February 12, 2005 12:02 AM (GMT)

Oldgamer - February 12, 2005 02:36 AM (GMT)
Good Evening!

I will introduce myself by saying that I live somewhere in the United States and am a tenured Professor of Philosophy at a major university. Because of tenure, I have recently been able to come out of the political closet, as it were, and reveal that I am so far to the Right that the Birchers regard me as part of some vast, right-wing, conspiracy. Of course, this revelation wasn't a pleasant one for most of my colleagues, who, for the most part, are to the Left of Ward Churchill.

Classical music, assault rifles, many books, and debate are my abiding interests. I am also a devout Roman Catholic.

I look forward to engaging all of you. :D

Stephen

GoldenKnightX2 - February 12, 2005 02:55 AM (GMT)

You don't have to compete. Let's make this experience enjoyable. I'm not here to show "intellectual superiority" or to condescend to anyone (though I come off like that, sometimes ... I don't mean to). Most of the people I associate with have a high school diploma, if that!

I'm not really a political person, but I support the Australian Labor Party.

Mordhak - February 12, 2005 09:04 AM (GMT)
Hi all, I suppose most of you know me already.

Umm, about myself. I love my girlfriend, PC-games, good music, history and politics. I live in Flanders (Belgium) and I'm 16.

In Belgium, people would call me 'extreme-right', politically. In the US though, people would consider me moderate. But that's only because I'm a non-theist.

Not much more to be said. So I guess, hi, I reckon I'll have a good time here.

Lord Rahl - February 12, 2005 09:06 AM (GMT)
welcome mordhak! may your right wing become more...right.

General_Maximus - February 12, 2005 11:33 AM (GMT)
Hello, well I'm general_maximus (from TWC) and I am a Bush hating anti-racist liberal. Id like to say Hello to you all and I cant wait to get to know you all. B)

Londinium - February 12, 2005 03:29 PM (GMT)
Londinium from TWC here.

I'm a 16 year old Brit living in Britain, with an interest in history of all eras and politics. As for my political viewpoint, I'd class myself as center. I have right wing views such as believing the British Empire was a good thing (well some people might consider it right wing) but I also sway more to the left in social issues such as gay rights, state benefits and the like.

Hope to have some good discussion here.

Oldgamer - February 12, 2005 03:31 PM (GMT)
QUOTE (Mordhak @ Feb 12 2005, 09:04 AM)
But that's only because I'm a non-theist.

Not necessarily. Many people I know who work hard for the GOP are atheists. The diffeence between Leftist atheists and Right atheists, here in the States, is that the Leftists want a totally secular society, while atheists on the Right see the need for the influence of religion on society.

Anyway, welcome!

JANOSIK007 - February 12, 2005 04:06 PM (GMT)
Good Day my fellow history enthusiasts and political "after-the-fact" pundits.

Originally I am from Slovakia, a small town right by Polish border. There still persists a feeling of nostalgia towards the golden age of communism. Not surprisingly, I was affected by my environment and it has shaped much of my ideological beliefs. I was also influenced by the rise of radical right-wing nationalist movements (mostly skinheads who despised gypsies, but I don't expect you will understand my position) so popular within the younger generation, although it has wanned considerably. When I came to US 7 years ago, with no knowledge of English, I started developing a more individualist attitude. It was easier for me, because after a short while of trying to fit in, trying to be the "Jimmy with an accent (I am exagerating of course, because for most part I wanted to be accepted as I am, which didn't work)," I grew resentful of the Anglo-American culture and the types that were set out according to which everyone was supposed to behave by, especially the 'High-school' types. If you don't understand where I am comming from maybe you should read Marcuse's "One Dimensional Man" and Dostoyevsky's "Notes from the Underground." The main character (also resentful of types of his day and age) is much more radical than I, but you can get the gist. So this is me in a nutshell. A bit long I suppose, but at least you'll know where I am comming from.

Marcus Trajan - February 12, 2005 06:58 PM (GMT)

KingOfTheIsles - February 12, 2005 09:27 PM (GMT)
Hmmm, some of you guys seem familiar...

KingOfTheIsles here, you may know me from other sites. Yes I still refuse to put any spaces in my name and yes I still refue to choose a shorter name, so y'all better get used to abbreviating. :D

I am from Britain, the land of rain and mashed potatoes.
I am interested in the study of language, history (excluding WW2, sorry but it is just done to death).
I spend all my time on internet forums forcing people to listen to my crazy views on stuff. Plus I occasionally see, you know, friends.
I am economically left-wing, a moderate from my POV, but you guys may see it differently. :) In addition, I'm socially liberal.
Hope to post here a lot more.

KOTI

horsearcher - February 12, 2005 10:37 PM (GMT)

Hey guys, you probably heard me or read me if you're from the TWC center (hint: go the help center)

about myself:
Living in the big USA, came here from Hungary in 1993 and as i read Janosik's post, it's the same deal or very close. I came with absolutely no knowledge of english and just a 17yrs old fool , leaving behind my 6 girlfriends :P
I grew up in the communism, witnessed the change in 1980s in europe, didn't know hot to fit in or figure out what was going on.
I come from a very diverse family (mother family opposed my father's), that was chased and pretty much eradicated during the 1956 hungarian revolution. My grandfather was an active rebel against communism and he got killed by hungarian communists before i could have known him. My grandmother had to flee here to the USA, otherwise she would have faced a similar fate. My other grandfather on my mom's side was a WWII veteran fought on eastern front line as a medic against the soviets and got captured and thrown into a prison camp in siberia. Despite that, after his return, he became an active communist and always opposed my father's family ideology. So basicly i witnessed both sides at the same time, even though, that time I couldn't understand many things.
Jumping back to myself, i joined the US army in 1995 and got honorably discharged in 2001. I really like reading about history and other people's view, and my ideology bases itself on things such as i try to put myself into other's shoes and try to understand his/her point.
As far as sides goes, i'm middle of the road person. I am also baptised as a roman catholic, but i don't go to church. (my own religion: I beleive in God, but my church is inside me)
And just to prove a point how much i don't care about religion, my girlfriend is a hindu.
:D

Hello all.

You might know me from other sites like the .Org or TWC.

Im from the cold rainy part of Britain... Scotland.
Im 19
Im interested in how computer games are striving to become more realistic in terms of AI and gameplay mechanics etc.
I spend my online time at Thebattlefields.com wich im a member of staff for, as well as playing a lot of MP games.
I dont consider myself as religous though if i had to consider myself as one it would be Protestant Christian.
I would say im a Realist, i refuse to see most "conclusive evidance" about conspiracies and or extreem winged rants, i have faith that there are no hidden agendas such as America and Britain are trying to take over the world or that NK is trying to nuke us all etc...
