If you think this sight could be better, let me and the staff know, we'd love to improve it for the users!

Peachy Carnehan - February 6, 2005 02:21 AM (GMT)
Actually I think right now its pretty good. Maybe I'll think of something later. ;)

Miborovsky - February 11, 2005 11:45 PM (GMT)
The "Welcome to the only place where history comes alive!" scrolling marquee is quite annoying. :(

The "History Alive" logo is too thick. Maybe you should extend it horizontally to fill up the wasted space and/or make it thinner.

Emperor Napoleon - February 11, 2005 11:48 PM (GMT)
thank you, I'll work on the scrolling thing, and see if i might do something about that banner.

Peachy Carnehan - February 12, 2005 01:03 AM (GMT)
Perhaps an off-topic section? It seems to me every forum needs one. I suppose we could be different, though.

 Good luck finding something to be of topic on... whats been left out? You've got politics, movies, history, liturature... what more do you want? a pet grooming section? :P

Site looks good!

EDIT: whoa, except for the white quote boxes :D

Emperor Napoleon - February 12, 2005 01:24 AM (GMT)
Well, i could combine movies/literature/and games into one general section, it could make it more organised and less organised, lol.

Peachy Carnehan - February 12, 2005 01:40 AM (GMT)
Well, sometimes topics come up that don't fit under any of the above categories. We certainly don't need one, it was just a suggestion.

Miborovsky - February 12, 2005 01:44 AM (GMT)
How about... a joke subforum.

edit: subforum, not thread.

Londinium - February 12, 2005 03:32 PM (GMT)
Having a full invision board :P jk that requires a server and numerous other bits.

Right now it's looking good, especially the banner although the names on the active list are a bit screwed up with them skipping across 2 lines, and in The Arena there will be a large empty forum as only the sub forums are going to be used, imo it would be best to make the general subforum the actual main forum with the Republican and Democrat forums within it as sub forums.

I second that.
And I want it loosely enforced than TWC.
Mods there are sometimes too harsh. <_<

Emperor Napoleon - February 12, 2005 08:07 PM (GMT)
Good sugestions, Im on it!

Bruticus, the Steadfast - February 13, 2005 12:17 AM (GMT)
I dont really like how the fourms are seperated. I wish there were more SUB forums, and less forum groups. Mabey Site news/ offical debates in one. Off site debates in another one. Its just a few to many clicks to get to all the fourms here ha ha.

Londinium - February 13, 2005 12:37 AM (GMT)
And we need more emoticons to needlessly spam with. ...I mean show our expressions with.

Emperor Napoleon - February 13, 2005 12:47 AM (GMT)
I'll see what i can do, but i doubt It'll get done till at least the end of this week, But smilies you shall have!!!

KingOfTheIsles - February 13, 2005 12:50 AM (GMT)
Not really a suggestion, more of a question. Why is it that some members' names are emboldened in the active members list? Not that I'm jealous or anything, I would never be so petty. :P

Emperor Napoleon - February 13, 2005 12:53 AM (GMT)
It's a slight Glitch in the Invision Forum thing, nothing i can do about that, but eventualy, after you post 300 i think you move up to the rank of "Line Officers" and you get a bold white name surounded in red i beleive.

MadBurgerMaker - February 13, 2005 09:04 AM (GMT)
Theres only one thing that really...gets to me....with regards to these boards.

Erm...The color.... :P Its just....very brown....everything is brown....

Profler - February 13, 2005 12:09 PM (GMT)
I can live with the Brown actually, makes it look like some sort of aged parchment... but on a PC screen. I'd also second the call for a restructure of the forums, - but still trying to think of a way to actually do it - it does take just a little too long to get into some sections.

I agree with all of your comments lol.

Emperor Napoleon - February 14, 2005 09:42 PM (GMT)
I actualy thought the same about the brown, In fact when i found this skin, i requested someone help me make it lighter and LESS brown, but it was a huge pain and it gave me nothing but an ulcer.

If i could do it, beleive me i would, but it does give the site a rustic look.

Marcus Trajan - February 15, 2005 02:18 AM (GMT)
I love talk about history.
I noticed one thing about History Alive section. It has two sub-sections, Ancient and Modern. I think we need one for general history. On there we post things not particularly confined within a specific period. What do you think?

helliax - February 15, 2005 05:54 AM (GMT)
Maybe you could add a drop down (hide-able) quick reply option? And also some edit indicator, to show whether or not someoen has edited the post.

If you do ge tthe edit working, do you mind telling me how you did it? A friend of mine and I are working on this other forum, and we can't get the edit function workign correctly.

Emperor Napoleon - February 16, 2005 03:32 AM (GMT)
dont know about the edit thing, but i certainly will add the quick reply.

GoldenKnightX2 - February 17, 2005 04:47 AM (GMT)
I also think that there should be one history topic, because if you have topic that runs from before that year, to after it, where do you put it ;)

Lord Rahl - February 17, 2005 05:03 AM (GMT)
ive never used fast reply, what does it do?

Miborovsky - February 17, 2005 05:09 PM (GMT)
It's just button you can press if your reply is very short and you don't want to wait for the reply page to load.

Lord Rahl - February 17, 2005 05:27 PM (GMT)
so its kind of a spammer's reply medium.

MadBurgerMaker - March 5, 2005 07:50 AM (GMT)
Right quick...I noticed a spelling error... ;)

Under "Welcome Center," it says "a place to anounce your arrival" or something of that nature. Its anNounce, if Im not mistaken. :P

Also, General Discusion should be "General Discussion."

Cheers! :D

Torment - March 5, 2005 12:03 PM (GMT)
Now that we're talking about talking about spelling mistakes, next to anounce (which MBM pointed out), it says arival, which should be arRival IIRC...

Emperor Napoleon - March 5, 2005 05:24 PM (GMT)
damn you all and your proper english!!!

that being said, i'm on it.

Torment - March 5, 2005 07:53 PM (GMT)
Not to be a nitpicker, but beneath GD it says: All things general. I think you should either put "in" in between "things" and "general", or you should place a comma between the two. :D

Emperor Napoleon - March 6, 2005 06:01 PM (GMT)
bah, you'll be the death of me

the Black Prince - March 9, 2005 08:33 PM (GMT)
why are some people having different coloured names on the online memberlist?

i noted the consuls and high command (though can't find what role the high command actually have) but what else is there?

Emperor Napoleon - March 10, 2005 01:28 AM (GMT)
right now i think Peachy is on High Command, but that rank is going to be extinct when the senate is commisioned.

Peachy Carnehan - March 10, 2005 01:49 AM (GMT)
My position is being outsourced?!

Emperor Napoleon - March 10, 2005 03:07 AM (GMT)
I'm sure you'll be elected for something! wink wink

Thus the first seeds of nepotism has been sown in the History Alive forums...

edit: Or rather, cronyism! ;)

Emperor Napoleon - August 27, 2005 09:33 PM (GMT)
Anything else?

I am sure we'll get some suggestions after the new skin goes up when Lord Rahl is done.

Lord Rahl - August 28, 2005 05:17 AM (GMT)
Hah! If I actually do it. To be honest I'm a little scared of doing it. I'll do it though....sometime.:)
