La Constitution
1.2 The Tribunate
The Tribunate shall consist of an indefinite number of members.
The Tribunate has the power and privilege to discuss matters of legislation and law, and is able independent from the other governing bodies to propose and to pass any legislation they deem fit, unless the higher governing bodies intervene. Tribunes have the power to protect any citizen from any arbitary treatment by a magistrate. This protection is considered absolute but within 48 hours the Tribune must refer the matter to the supreme court or the citizen in question suffers whatever penalty the magistrate deems fit. Tribunes are under no obligations to protect a citizen when asked to. They are able to call into question any decision made by the above governing bodies, and by popular vote, over turn it. This power to overturn any decision does not extend to a unanimous consular veto which is considered absolute. Tribunes shall be nominated from the citizenry. Tribunes can be nominated by a member of any of the governing bodies and voted on by the entire government. Two Tribunes shall be chosen to act as the Tribunate’s representatives in the Supreme Court. These Tribunes will be Chosen via vote within the Tribunate upon the even that the Supreme court is called to be convened.
