Has anybody got any good recipes for fresh meckerel as i have just been given some? My mother would always souse them.HK
Barbque em. Slash the sides sprinkle on a little chille powder(goes well with mackerel) and away you go. you can fillet them as well and put under the grill.
You've just brought back happy memories of growing up on Skye. Fresh boiled mackerel lovely. Out fishing with family and friends. Coming back ashore gutting mackerel on the shore getting into the house, not very far from the shore, putting the mackerel and a few new spuds on the hob. Lovely, happy memories thank you. :D
