could any one give me some info on them blue pheasant hoppers?
i got one of the barrels with the bottom already cut out of it, but want some info about wot type of wire etc goes on there to cover the bottom and stop the grain falling out

i remember some years ago seeing several with simple wire grills covering the gap and the pheasants scraped to get the grain

so need some help please

good info thanks

no squirrels over here (NI) yet but plenty bloody crows, magpies, starlings etc lol

the barrel i have has a large square hole cut in bottom, at one time there was a wire mesh dropped into it covering the hole and i remember people saying the pheasants scraped the bottom with their beaks/heads

Yes that’s how all the tight wads do it, bit of wire mesh maybe double so that there is just enough room for the grain to fall down when agitated. :D
