we could do with some fishermen to stick their oar in our forums, and for some articles on the main site.

Hello ,

As a newbie to the site I have been looking around and came across this section. have just moved to Somerset and as an ex Carp fisherman have been looking around the area to see what was on offer. If any of you lads are planning to come to Somerset on holiday I can point you to a fishery where I should think you would be guaranteed to catch Carp. Looking in a local Fishing Tackle shop I see that the record catch for a match, I believe is now 163lb, yes that's right 163lb. My wife and I took a walk around this place two weeks ago, it is made up of three small lakes, and we saw 7 Carp caught with the space of about 15 minutes, nothing large mind you, about 4 to 6 lb. We even saw two men fly fishing for them. The day tickets cost is £5 or £10, I think the £10 must be for the specimen lake. I am sorely tempted to dust the cobwebs off my old gear. Most of the blokes fishing were using poles. Anyone want any more info please let me know. I do not have any financial interest in this place by the way, wish I did.

Clare, do you run a fishery? If so would you like to write a sort article on running one you could always put your details at the end for a bit of advertising. By the way the largest pike i've seen was at Blenheim it was 28.5 lbs about two years ago.
