Off to Scotland tonight for a couple of days. I think we are going to have a day walked up on Grouse and a day on some teal ponds. Should be good what ever. I will let you know how we got on when i'm back.
Well i'm back from scotland although we shot just in England. The afternoon on the more was something else as i've never done anything like that before. We met at a farm house then took the sort drive to the moor and then the rain came. I have never been so wet in all the years i've been keepering but that didn't stop us and the four of us and the keeper kept going. Thecould not believe the amount of Grouse we were seeing with alot of Gray hens showing as well. It was just a shame that the grouse kept moving in front. Anyway five hours later and soaked to the skin we came off with seven Grouse and i wouldn't of missed it for anything.
The next morning we had a flight on the river near the Solway and then after a quick bacon butty off to the gravel pits for driven wild duck. The first three were not that productive but on the fourth the heavy rain came back and the ducks left the lake in ones and twos. Forty + ducks were accounted for making the total bag over sixty. What a couple of days.
