Hi there HappyKeeper,
I find, having eventually got Broadband (Demon), that I am having a problem that sounds the same as you had (have?). Frequent and unpredictable loss of service for from seconds up to occassionaly a few hours at a time. Doesnt seem to be down to the ISP and I think BT is the culprit. Even as an analogue line with conventional modem it was always dropping the line (put down to a very low gain was necessary due to much electric fencing in the valley: high gain= picks up the fences!?
BT are taking forever to check it out.

I would be interested to know how your was sorted (if it was!).

Hi Alastair, it turned out that my problem was a line break up the pole not 40m from my house. The BT man also explained that broadband works a bit like a light house the further away from the source although you can see it the weaker it gets.As im at the furthest point from the exchange its no wonder. Im now sorted but it took nearly a year ringing a call centre and then finally someone noticed it was a problem that needed an engineer instead of them just connecting me again at 50p a minute. Hope you get sorted soon but make sure you take it as far as you can or they will keep palming you off. Happykeeper
