By rights you shouldn't use things like panacur for pheasants as it isn't a registered drug for game birds and most places will not sale it over the counter now unless you have some proof of a herd of cows or a flock of sheep. Saying that there is alot of people using it and it does work well. We use to use 2.5% but i can't remember the dose although i was once told by a vet that it was difficult to over dose with it but please do not take my word for this!! Happykeeper

We always use the 2.5% panacur, works well, the dose we came up with is 11millilitres to the gallon, I know its an odd combination of measurement but it works ,you probably know already but make sure that the birds dont have access to any other water or they wont drink the medicated.

How long did you use it for birchy? 7 days like flubenvet?

I give enough medicated water for two days ,that seems to do the job,you do still get an odd bird snicking ,I supose you could give them longer ,its just that the water containers i use give them enough for two days , some years i have to redose after about three weeks if some birds show signs of gapes again .

Talking to a keeper mate today re' panacur,he leaves his birds on it for five days, the way he was talking the doseage is depending on how white the water goes, he hasn't OD'd any birds yet with his doseing method so i think i'm safe with mine, also forgot to mention earlier you need to stir it after a day as the suspention settles.
