Ive been speeking to an old retired keeper who was telling me that if you release young bantam cocks with your poults it will teach your birds to go up to roost and also call them back to the pen at night which will stop wandering birds.
Because the bantams stay in the pen or very close to it.
Has anyone on happykeeper heard of this as i would be intrested to here any views on any one putting this into practice cheers mvf

I've tried it with some success but i put young bantams in with six week old poults. The way i was told about was to rear some bantam chicks in with your pheasent chicks on the field so by the time they go to wood they are inprinted and will stay around the banties.
