I offered the ground to a club and it was agreed that i would turn up first thing and stay if i could. Luckerly i stayed as the judges didn't seem to work the ground in any particular way so wasted large areas in the morning which we then had to go over later. Next trial i would make sure either one of my beat keepers or myself would steward the beat so we got the best from it. I might have the results on email if so i will forward them to you. Great Thanks

I run my dogs in trials and appreciate the work etc that goes in behind the scenes, and how grateful we all are for the ground kindly donated by the keepers and estate owners, nice to hear that, thanks

I went along to watch a cocker trial as ive never seen one run . I was amazed how those little pocket rockets work .I did think however that the birds were shot very close and some were turned inside out do they need to be shot so close.
I should'nt think many were fit for dog food let alone humans .
But i did enjoy my day.

Hi MVF

It depends on the level of trial, I must admit for "open" trials the birds tend to be a bit more sporting, ie they are let out further before they are shot, some keepers and guns panic at trials and understandably try to shoot the game dead for the dogs, realistically it's meant to be the same as on a walked up shoot day, every trial is different and hopefully you will get to a few and see for yourself.

Glad you enjoyed it !!
