Title: some where to train my dog

chalkie - October 28, 2005 11:13 PM (GMT)
hi all

just joined happykeeper forum (found site by chance, seems v.good)
I'm trying (my best) to train my lab. she's only 7 months and she's very good. The Trouble is, I train her on a friends farm once a week, I'd like to train her every spare hour I get but because it's so far away from me (1 Hour) I can't do it with all the other things you try to squeeze in to a day, I do take her to public parks and things but it's not the same as the countryside. it would be a great help to me if anyone could tell me where you go to train your dogs, sepecially around the swansea area. This is my first attempt to train a gundog and I'm very pleased with the way things are going at the mo. but any tips are welcome..

cheers all

have a good season.. ;)

I for one allow the odd person on the shoot for dogging-in in the summer this helps me to keep the birds in and allows someone with a young dog get experience. Try and get to know your local keeper and once you have his trust you maybe able to do the same.

It would be worth you trying to find out your local Labrador club as they may be able to help you if you get a problem when training and also they often have access to ground.
