Description: Watching it?

Tonight is the PS3 Launch event live at Gamespot.com. Anyone watching?

nopes, since a) I'm not really interested in watching Sony fall flat on their faces any more this year. The exec lauynch ended in two seperate disasters for them. Firstly the system experienced a half dozen errors, then it melted into the table surface. add the stupidly high cost of the retail ps3,the even higher cost to make them, and the viao battery debacle, and Sony's in trouble financially

I watched. Some dumb ass shut a door, crimped a power cord and killed the feed mid watch. I'll have to grab the video of it to see what I missed before and in between.
I know what you mean about the errors. I read about those and then Sony came back in and did damage control. If I remember right, there were problems with overheating at the TGS 2006 event. A friend that I've been tracking said that they had problems with the blu-ray disk's top layer melting cause it was too close to the laser reading it. Most unfortunate!
Another point you, me and anyone who doesn't have tons of cash will agree on is the price. 600+ No thanks. I'll wait about a year and a half for a sensible price drop and usable stock in stores so that I don't get beaten down in the line or mugged after getting it like this unfortunate incident here:
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6161933.html?...estnews;title;0And I agree with Sony being in trouble with all the problems they've had over the past few years. Unless they do something quick, they'll be in deeper.
For what the PS3 is costing at the moment, I think I'll grab an Xbox 360 and a Wii before going back and checking the PS3's price at the time.
What an advantage for Microsoft and Nintendo, eh?

Thats the advantage of not being able to buy these consols when they first come out
by the time they're cheap enough I wont have to worry about all the bugs in the consols as they should be cleaned out by then ^^

Geeeze.. and I STILL don't have a ps2 yet.
Hrrrrm.. guess it's time to hit walmart's bargin bin. ^_^.
weltall2 - November 30, 2006 05:55 AM (GMT)
Blood I believe the last time I checked the PS2 retails for around 120 dollars, and that was before PS3 launched.
BloodStorm - November 30, 2006 05:00 PM (GMT)
120 bucks. huh? Still to expensive..
Time to 'borrow' the neighbor's kidneys.
Sparky - November 30, 2006 06:42 PM (GMT)
They're down to under a £100 here including a game or two at Game, something like that anyway, last time I checked. I've still saw the odd ps1 on sale at some places for about £15. How untreasured they are these days, yet they're memory will never be forgotten :)
Ghrecki - December 1, 2006 02:10 AM (GMT)
Id never forget the original playstation...
How can i with 4 nonworking ones laying in various closets?
BloodStorm - December 1, 2006 02:26 AM (GMT)
Oh yeah.. I forgot about those >_>
I still have to take them apart and rebuild them as a robo-consol that can play itself..
Might even use the dead ps2 we allready have.. EVERY robot needs a missile guidance system afterall.
Sparky - December 1, 2006 09:27 AM (GMT)
Remember to save enough parts for an indestructable back box B)
Ghrecki - December 1, 2006 03:45 PM (GMT)
If you dont mind combineing systems blood you can also use my dreamcast... the nintendo, supernintendo, and the x box. Oh and the umteen thousand gameboys
BloodStorm - December 1, 2006 04:26 PM (GMT)
Yes.. with all the parts from old and discarded systems.. we can surely create a robot that can play any game imaginable..
Provided the game is, you know.. older than 5 years old. <_<
Not using MY dreamcast though.. that sucker still works

BloodStorm - December 1, 2006 09:50 PM (GMT)
*grabs sparky by the legs, swinging his skull like a mace and shattering Riven's sledge hammer*
Ha ha!
*uses sparkymace to knock riven unconcious, then dresses him up like a clown and sells him to barnem and bailey's curcus*
Riven - December 1, 2006 09:57 PM (GMT)
*pays Ghecki a million bucks to smash dreamcast* ¬¬
Go, destroy your brother's machine!!
BloodStorm - December 1, 2006 09:58 PM (GMT)
He won't destroy it.. it's the ONLY one in 50 miles in any direction that still works.. and he still enjoys some of the games.
Plus he knows I won't let him use my computer ever ever again if he does. <_<

Now unless this has to do with the PS3 I say we all bow politely and go our seperate ways.
