Title: Guyver/ Planet of the apes
Mr Zektoll - October 31, 2006 01:07 AM (GMT)
I had this cool idea earlier for a guyver/planet of the apes crossover rpg where the world is populated by intelligent zoaform apes that have long since taken over, but then some people from the past happen to land on the world. The apes are actually the long distant descendents of Bobo, the zoaform ape from the original cronos rpg. This wouldnt be a direct spin off from the cronos rpg, since it would take place in the future of an alternate version of that timeline where the other parties involved either killed each other off, or were never created, which is why the universe is still intact here. I'll post more details when I have the time.

I'm in but only if I can fly on a cloud and have a magic wishing staff
Seriously though Z, no offence but this could be worked on a bit more..... besides we're actually waiting for you to get Thunderball going again :beers:
BloodStorm - October 31, 2006 03:30 PM (GMT)
Thunderball? Shit.. I knew there was something I had been meaning to unlock.. >_>
Wow.. It's passed my record for Battlecube by now..
<the announcer from Super Smashbrothers runs by and screams out>
A NEW RECORD!
Mr Zektoll - October 31, 2006 03:39 PM (GMT)
Well I did have more details worked out, I just didnt have the time to post them yesterday. But yeah I will have to get thunderball started again .
Here's the other world details
Like in planet of the apes the worlds run by chimpanzees, gorillias and orangatans, each of which have a zoaform. Most of these are regular zoanoid class zoaforms, but there are also hyper class apes as well as a few zoalord class apes. Not all zoanoid and hyper zoanoid class apes are suceptible to zoalord ape control though, only about 50% of them are. No one knows what happened to Bobo, but the apes worship him as their progenitor known as the great lawgiver.
The tech level in most parts of the world isn't that advanced, like in the planet of the apes movies, but there are several ape countries that have high tech level.
These include
The New Oasis Empire: A large city state area thats inside a canyon in the ground, mostly peacful. It's settled in the desert which is why it has that name.
The Banana Republic: couldnt resist the name, this is the largest and most hostile of the groups on the planet. The banana Republic is ruled in a dictatoriship, their ruler is General Krug, a gorilla with zoalord abilities. The truth is that while Krug likes to throw his weight around, the real brains behind the Banana Republic is the sinister Dr. Gori, a chimpanzee scientists who discovered an anchient laboratory full of lost technology. The banana republic has the highest tech level on the planet.
Brazilistan: Another country around the same tech level as new oasis, but a much larger country.
Aluca: 2nd only to the banana republic, this is located to the far south close tot he arctic, antartica is no longer completely at the pole of the planet which is why they arent freezing their butts off. Aluca is mostly peaceful.
The New Gorilla empire: This is a empire made into a Gorilla supremicist warrior centric society. Their hostile, but don't have as much ability to go around conquering things like the Banana republic.
Zebina: A society situated next to the ocean, relies mostly on fish for food sources.
These are only the most advanced countries on the planet, there's plenty of smaller less advanced places scattered throughout the desert.
Beneath the planet of the apes:
All sorts of secrets from the anchient wars with cronos lie beneath the planet. Although Dr. Gori has discovered these secrets, even he doesnt know everything thats down here, and that the apes arent the only ones that survived the anchient wars.

Wait.. if bobo is the great lawgiver and stuff.. what the hell happened to kintaro and minmay? Didn't those two finally get togeather and populate an entire species or something?
Or is this a differant universe alltogeather and NOT the universe that kintaro, bobo, and minmay ended up flung to when orngus rescued them from the dieing universe?
and further more.... where did I put my pants?

The great lawgiver took them?
Anyway so yeah......

Mr Zektoll - November 1, 2006 04:30 PM (GMT)
Yeah, read back tot he first post, it's an alternate version of the cronos universe. No one really knows what happened to Kintaro and Minmay, although the lab that Dr Gori found did actually belong to Kintaro. Maybe bloodstorms pants are also in that lab?

Gee it looks like sparky might be coming down with something there, sounds like a familiar cough....

*sneezes* post in MG *sneezes again* Seems I'm a wee bit under the weather too.
But in all seriousness, it sounds like a fun departure from the more serious RPGs we have at the moment and by RPGs I mean hopefully certain people will be posting in them soon. :smirk:

To be honest I was under the impression some of those were dead. Been trying to fix my own rpg idea lately but I post in them either tonight or tomorrow so no worries, see about figuring out a character for this one aswell.

Sorry, throats irritating me again.
BloodStorm - November 3, 2006 04:14 AM (GMT)
Why would kintaro even HAVE my pants?
unless he's studying my wonderdong in an attempt to impress minmay...
and in that case.. I don't think I want them back <_<
Mr Zektoll - November 6, 2006 02:22 AM (GMT)
Ok, the power limit right now I think I'll set at 10 human guyvers, I might allow something more if you have a really good idea. No giant monster characters right now though beisdides the three listed in the df's. Also here's a little bit of an explanation about where I got Dr. Gori from. Dr. Gori is actually the villain of a sentai hero series I watched as a kid called Specter man, in almost every episode he and his assistant the badass bumbling Gorilla Lyall would send out giant monsters in an attempt to conquer humanity, the giant monsters listed in the df's are adaptations of the monsters featured in the first few episodes. Specterman is currently out of print here, unless you have connections like I do, you'll have a tough time finding episodes, hower if you want to see who Dr. Gori is, he's also the villain of the live action version of Cromartie High school which is available in America.
About the ape zoaforms: The difference in power between the ape and human zoaforms is the same as between humans and apes, even a simple chimpanzee is strong enough to rip a mans arm off and a gorilla is even more powerful, this difference is reflected in the zoanoids, an ape zoanoid may be 2-3 times the streingth of its human zoanoid counterpart, same for hypers and zoalords.
I also intend to make a world map to show where the different countries are for this.

I KNEW That name sounded familiar..
Dad had a couple of those in his vhs collection. All we have to do to see what else he has is to figure out what he did with the key to the box he stored them in.
If I remember right theres a vhs of the old felix the cat movie too..
Now I'm tempted to play a felix knockoff in this rp. >_>
Mr Zektoll - November 7, 2006 12:33 AM (GMT)
Right now I only have access to raw japanese versions of the specterman episodes, since I'm not completely fluent in the languge sometimes it gets a little confusing. If you find any of those old tapes could you make a copy and send them to me? I't'd probably help in nailing down Gori and Lyalls characters since I want to keep the personalities of their adaptations as faithful as possible to the source material.
BloodStorm - November 8, 2006 12:22 AM (GMT)
I'll see what I can do..
In the meantime.. curiosity has gotten the better of me.. WHY WOULD KINTARO HAVE MY PANTS?
'
Edit: I've decided upon my characters.
I'll be using the Mega-twins, Hemma and Roid.
Hemma will be covered in various henna tattoos that are accually nano-patterns that she can pull from her skin and they turn into various weapons.
Roid will be a failed bodybuilder who breifly turned to a semi-religious spinter cult of AMWAY and made a happy living going door-to-door as a door salesman. Now he is.. um.. yeah.. he still sales doors on the side, in addition to being a mega-twin. He also likes guns.. and has a gun that works pretty much like the assault rifle from city of heros.. it's a single gun that can opperate as a sniper rifle, machinegun, flamethrower, shotgun, or grenade launcher. It also looks really stupid, but it works.
They also have alot of typical wonder-twins esqe powers.. only instead of forms and shapes.. Hemma can only turn into vehicals... while roid can turn into animals who's name begins with the letter D.
Also, to transform, they have to rub thier buttocks togeather. It doesn't have to be derect contact.. so they can remain clothed.
I'll work out more specifics later when I get around to doing a datafile

Just look a Ramotith
guyver's bane - November 17, 2006 12:46 PM (GMT)
Ramotith was based off a gorilla? I thought it was bat or something close.
BloodStorm - November 17, 2006 10:52 PM (GMT)
Nah... Ramothith is ape based of an ape of some sort, despite what the ears look like. That's why it's the single easiest zoaform to produce, involving the least genetic changes required for the transformation.
This public service announcement brought to you by bloodstorm.. who's occasionally right about something.
guyver's bane - November 20, 2006 12:51 PM (GMT)
Well, I guess you do learn something new every day.
Mr Zektoll - December 21, 2006 08:29 PM (GMT)

I forgot to label the yellow part, but the yellow area is terretory occupied by the banana republic, the unlabaled blue parts are whats left of the worlds water. Smaller countries
and smaller bodies of water arent labeled because their small.
BloodStorm - January 18, 2007 01:23 AM (GMT)
I just thought of a question..
are the apes more like the planet of the apes, where they look mostly like people but with alot of makeup that makes them appear like apes, or are they closer to real apes, only smarter and zoaform compatable..
becuase the second one would be more amusing.
Mr Zektoll - January 18, 2007 02:59 AM (GMT)
Well their slightly more human looking then real apes, the gorillas look sort of like sasquatch's and the chimps look sort of like austrelopithicus, etc. In other words their build is like that of protohominids instead of pure ape. They do still have grasping feet like regular apes do though.
