OOC: Time to play :war:

Darkangel glided silently over the city. Coming to land on his apartment rooftop. He dispersed his wings and climb down the fire escape into his room. " Another day, another criminal." he said plopping down on the bed and grabbing the remote. The news was on. " In local reports to day, the vigilante known as Darkangel was seen fleeing a crimescene. Wether he is responsible is unknown." he shut the tv off. " Same thing, they think i'm the bad guy." He glanced out the window. A faint trail of smoke was beginning to rise. Growing darker and thicker. " No time for rest."
*****
The fire was beginning burn out of control. " We've got three people stuck on the second floor, now lets get them out!" screamed the fire chief. The fire fighters charged in the through the charred door. The heat was emmense as it forced them back. " We cant get up there! The temperature is unbelievable." Darkangel glided on to the top. " Hey look!" one of the fire fighters said. " I'ts DarkAngel." 221 gathered a dark bolt and fired. Demolishing the roof.

OOC If it's still to short I'll continue working on it.

Wind and rain stung the eyes of Calus Xanthos as he carefully navigated the crime ridden streets on his way home from work.Drops of rain cascaded against his overcoat, washing away the stink of a night behind the bar in a less than reputable nightspot. He could feel a bruise welling on his ribs from the last fight of the night where some dirty cops got into a disagreement with the scum who were bribing them.Even after so long in this cesspit of humanity,Calus was loathe to use his 'gifts' when it came to keeping the peace, something not helped by the bouncer being a piece of shit who did drug deals with 90% of the regulars, cops included...

Sirens raced past him as he crossed the last street of this part of Badside. Most people would have avoided his destination even during daylight hours,at this time of night they would have gone to all possible lengths to avoid the narrow streets and decrepit buildings of Worseside.Yet Calus showed no signs of fear as he headed home for the morning…

Daylight was just dying when a series of sharp knocks on this door woke Calus from his pain wracked slumber. Dragging his bruised body from bed,he barely stopped to grab a towel from the radiator as he passed it,wrapping it round his waist as he stretched to answer the door.Yawning as he pulled the door open,he caught a glimpse of the dark blue uniforms and noticed that he recognised the two cops as ones who frequented Lucifer's,the bar he worked in.
'Calus Xanthos,we'd like you to answer some of our questions.' The taller of the two said, but Calus barely heard him,his focus instead split between the smaller cop thumbing his gun and the disk of kinetic energy that Calus was charging behind the door, out of sight of the cops.He motioned with their head for them to come in,fully aware that the lead cop was now reaching for his gun. Calus spun into motion, realeasing the disk and focusing on the idea of a concussive blast after the disk had phased through the first. Calus saw the horrified expression on the tall cop's face as he felt his organs being touched by the kinetic energy of the translucent green disk, closely followed by pain as the green flash erupted between the two crooked cops. Looking between their unconcious forms and the bottles of alcohol on his worktop gave Calus and idea...

Incubus flew above the city, his wings pounded to keep him airborne as he searched for a sign that he was needed. For one such as he there was little he could do except for and help others whenever possible. He turned in a soft arc when suddenly he heard a high pitched scream. The winged hero immdeatly spun in the air as he oriented on the sound. Moments later another scream pierced the night and he had the location.

Incubus tucked his wings back and went into a dive as he shot between the buildings, he flared his wings to help make a tight turn around a corner. There was his target, a large man who was bearing down on a young woman, a knife in one hand and a gun in the other. Incubus could smell her fear and the man's rage. Incubus let out a blood curdeling roar that made the man freeze in his tracks. Incubus flew mere feet off the ground as he hooked the hooligan under the arms and immdeatly flapped as he soared straight up. The wall to the nearest building was less then an inch from the hooligan's face.

"N...no, please let me go!"

Incubus flapped harder and soon they where high above the buildings again. Incubus turned the man around and grabbed him by the front of his shirt.

"Let you go? Are you sure?" he growled.

The man looked down and saw the they where quite far up.

"NO! DONT DROP ME, PLEASE DONT DROP ME!"

"Why shouldn't I? You where going to willing hurt that young woman, had I not stopped you surely you would have commited more crimes. You are accused of being unjust towards your fellow man, why should I show justice to one such as you?"

The young man started crying, tears flowed from his eyes and he began to sob, he heard the tone in Incubus's voice and knew this would be the end.

"P...pl.....please, I dont wanna die."

Incubus snapped his mouth forward and bit deep into man's throat and tore a large chunk out. He watched the young man as his life slowly poured from the wound. He stared cold daggers and never flinched as he died in his arms. He opened his hands and watched as his body fell back to the ground to crash striaght into a dumpster.

"Then you should have never been born." With that Incubus went back to searching the city for more villans.

Kaiser Dragoon - December 6, 2005 07:11 PM (GMT)
A whirlpool of swirling black and white energies the size of a small dime began to form within a filthy back alley of the tainted city. Sparkling tendrls of energy lashed around like a ravenous squid searching deseperately for something to devour. Overflowing garbage dumpsters rattled as their rusted lids creaked and were knocked about by the sudden increase in windspeed. Squalid homeless people who were sleeping or passed out in the alley awoke to the crackling of what could only be a thunderclap. They were drawn to the slowly expanding rift, something that was unlike anything they would've probably ever seen in their lifetime and unfortunately it was their last...

From the rift powerful arc of white dimensional energy lanced forward and speared through their fragile bodies. Screams were muted as another thunderous boom of energy errupted from the rift, blowing apart the eardrums of the closest ones and severely blinded the others. Their bodies twitched and danced about like puppets in a violent play of death before their bodies crumpled into atomic dust and floated away.

The vortex suddenly became a mirror, smooth and undisturbed in texture until a mess of tendrils and what looked to be a humanoid body was flung through it, then vanished. The darkness quickly regained its footing upon the alleyway, shrowding the limp figure, which lay upon the dirt encrusted pavement. The body remained motionless, possibly dead. Hours past and rain began to pour down upon the silhouetted figure. The curiosity of the rats and alley cats for a possible meal overwrote their caution. As the first rat scampered up the seemingly dead corpse the dark jade costume twitched, the rat's eyes buldged in terror but it was too late. Thousands of razor sharp tendrils errupted out of the creature's back, impaling all sentient life about it and drained them of their blood to mere ashen husks.

The creature rose, seemingly in a daze, then the costume tore itself loose to reveal a young teenager, no more then 17. "Wha, what happened?" He rubbed his temple with his trembling hand. Then a dark, twisted, and familar voice crept into his mind.

We were thrown through a dimensional rift, I had to have a bit of a snack to restore our health...

The young boy looked about and saw the dead animals strewn about in a massacred like fashion. Well at least you didn't eat anyone this time Wrath...

I would have, the dark voice replied in his head. But there weren't any around...

The heat was immense. He could barley make out the peoples
cries above the roar of flames. "Help!"screamed a little girl."The fires getting closer!" He dodged under a burning beam. "Where are you?" the smoke caused him to choke as he breathed. She was in a corner. He could barely make out her form as he bent down to pick her up. "It's okay,I'm here to help." he comforted.

OOC:I'll finish this post up later. Gotta go.

Incubus flew high above the city when he saw the smoke from the burning building. he ducked his wings into a tight curl and immdeatly flew in the proper direction. The wind whipped past his hair as he flew through the dark night. As he neared the smell of the flames began to assault his enhanced senses but he blocked out the assault as he continued on. He immedeatly began to circle the building as he searched for survivors. He heard gasps from the street below and realized the crowd below had seen him. The demonic hero saw an opening large enough and a flash of someone moving inside, within moments he went head long into the flame, his wings flared as he gently landed and began searching for someone in need.

Kaiser Dragoon - December 13, 2005 06:10 AM (GMT)
"This is just great, where are we?"

Beats me, all I remember is...

While Wrath was arguing with himself his symboitic costume whirled and shifted into plain street cloths with a hoody overtop his head. At that moment a beat cop strolled by then flashed his light into the alleyway, pointing his gun at Wrath at the same time.

"Hey kid, what da hell are you doin' in 'ere?" Wrath remained quiet, shadows concealing his eyes and his upper face.

"Hey ya scrawny little punk, I'm talkin' to yas." Wrath remained motionless, the cop strode in with a snarl of contempt. "Ya buyin' somethin' from a deal'r 'ere?" Wrath remained unapologetically quiet.

The burly man strode up to Wrath, towering over him, his enormous gut hanging out over his belt a few buttons on his jacket were straining at the hipline. His face was wrinkled with fatty lines, puffy cheeks, and six day old unkept whiskers. His breath reeked of JD and possibly a little bit like cheap beer.

"Answ'r when yere spoken ta punk!" He swung the gun to pistol whip Wrath when out from his chest a massive jade spike lanced through his hand, obliterating the gun and mutilating the hand as though the cop had received a stigmata. Before a scream could be made, another tendril lashed out and disected the man from head to groin.

"Was that really necessary?"

If anyone gets to belittle you kid, it's me. The symboite chuckled in his head as Wrath walked out of the alleyway, hands in his newly formed pockets and down the shady lit street.

guyver's bane - December 15, 2005 12:52 PM (GMT)
221 turned around to fly the girl out when he noticed something. He wasn't alone. standing not 10 feet from him was a winged creature. Gaping at the flourescent wings attached to his body. "Friend or foe?" he said. Preparing a darkbolt incase it should attack. "Hold on there sparky!" it said. "I'm not here to fight." Darkangel was still uneasy but subsided the energy ball."Fine but help me get the other two out.

Kaiser Dragoon - December 15, 2005 09:06 PM (GMT)
Wrath continued walking through the disgusting slums of the city, homeless littered the alleyways, hookers preforming tricks in cheap rooms with broken windows, pimps hitting up clients for money, a true underworld and the police just strolling by like it was a mid day afternoon parade.

We've seen better... His symboite muttered as the passed a hooker moaning from behind a dumpster.

"And we've seen a lot worse." He muttered back.

Wrath kept his hands in his pockets as he walked by the drug dealers, dealing everything from baking soda to 99% pure china white. He kept his head down as he and his symboite broke out into another one of their more topical discussions of just who they could kill and get away with here. Not paying attention to where he was walking Wrath bumped into a man's shoulder, he apologized off handedly. "Sorry."

The man, not much older then he, spun around. A gun pointed at his head, held sideways. Wrath attempted to understand what he was saying but it was so heavily entranched in ganster slang that all he got out of it was that he'd disrespected the man. Not only that, his gang, which considered of five others holding five more guns pointed at his head.

Seems you're in a bit of a pickle dick.

"Shut up." He growled back at the symboite under his breath.

Does this mean I'm allowed out now?

"Just try not to kill all of them..."

I'll try...

Ten Seconds Later...

Wrath continued walking along down the street towards mid town, six bodies lay bleeding in a pile, their respective gun toating arms removed at the shoulder and six dark jade symboite tendrils reeled back into Wrath's clothing and a moment later it was like they were never there.

See, I can be good.

"Yeah, right." He scoffed at his symboite.

Teknoguyver - December 18, 2005 12:00 AM (GMT)
Shade didn't know why he had chosen this path. Maybe helping others, protecting those still lived in this burning building and guideing them out helped to ease his pain. After all there wasn't much difference bewteen what he was doing now and his former job in the spirit world. Well that fact that the humans were still alive was one that came to mind, but alive or dead he just couldn't deny his very nature.

After droping off the scared child next to a human healer he headed back inside the flameing ruin uncontested by the human lawmen and fire fighters sense no one could see or hear him. Yet, every now and then he would brush past a human who would shudder at the coldness of his passing. Reminding him that even among the humans their were those who had "talents" that even they didn't know they had.

Phaseing though a wall shade came across a very interesting set of humens. Interesting in the fact that they were both winged.

guyver's bane - December 21, 2005 12:48 PM (GMT)
A cold shiver ran up 221s spine even in the fire. They were not alone. "Hey get this little one out of here." he ordered and handed her over. He flew out with the girl wrapped around his neck."Somebodies here. I know you are. Now show your self. No one appeared. Maybe it was paranoia or the feeling of a job well done. Which ever it was he extended his energy wings and flew out through the roof. "Next time, I'll find out who was there." he said and pumped his wings to a slow descent towards the ground.

Teknoguyver - December 27, 2005 02:28 AM (GMT)
OOC: Come on guys lets not let this one fall to the way side.

IC: Surprise show on shades face for a second as one of the winged humens called out to him. although it was clear the humen didn't know where he was eactly he had flet him enter the room.

Shade stood very still and lowered his energies. when the winged figure left the room shade desided to follow from a distence. after all he had nothing else better to do.

Kaiser Dragoon - January 2, 2006 01:09 AM (GMT)
Wrath had walked along the grimy streets but he began to notice that it was slowly becoming cleaner. He was beginning to enter the ruling classes neighbourhood, gradually. Along these streets were where the higher up pimps and gang lords lived. Few lived on the same block or street for fairly obvious reasons but he could tell he was slowly moving up the food chain. There would be a few hard working and honest people found here as well, more then in the slums, but he couldn't deny there were always a few diamonds in the rough.

He looked up from the somewhat cleaner sidewalk to see smoke billowing in the not too far off distance. That's one way to cook.

"Shut up." Wrath muttered to his symboite. "There could be genuinely innocent people in there."

Well Mr. Hero, let's go look. At that the symboitic costume whirled and warped about his body to manifest his true appearance, a dark jade green like humanoid with a dragon like symbol found along his chest with razor sharp fangs. They leapt into the air and a string of webbing shot out from above his wrist and began to websling to the building, moving at record speed and landed across from the building cloaked in the shadows.

Seems you aren't the only goody two shoes here. The symboite smirked in with a wry tone in his head.

"Interesting." Wrath muttered as he slowly crept down the wall to observe this small gathering of super beings.

Riven - January 3, 2006 02:56 AM (GMT)
OOC: Time to enter the fray :wolfy:
======
IC:

Terry walked along the streets with his hands stuffed in his pockets with his shoulders hunched forward. It had been a long day, he was tired, hungry and desperately wanted a bath that he could soak his aching muscles in. Stupid cops always getting in his way, they were worse then the rest of the scum that invested this city and made his job all the more harder because of that fact. He had more important things that he needed to worry about without having to deal with crooked cops on a daily basis.

He turned his head slightly as he heard a pair of fire trucks go screaming past, sirens blazing and lights flashing. His interests peaked, he looked around to make sure no one was looking and then he jumped… straight up and on to the roof of a building. Already he could see the giant cloud of smoke rising up out of the streets and concealing the top part of the building that was on fire. He dashed across the building he was on and leapt through the air, sailing across a second building and landing on the third and repeated until he found himself on the building across the street from the one on fire. He saw the group of super beings gathered on the ground, looking a little worse from wear with slight singe marks covering their bodies, though he doubted that it caused them any serious problems.

“Interesting group aren't they?” he said suddenly to the creature crawling slowly down the wall, almost startling it into falling off.

“Gah! Don’t sneak up on me like that!” the creature snarled.

“And what exactly was it that you were doing?” Terry asked calmly.

Terry saw the creature smirk. “Sneaking…”

The teen chuckled slightly at the reply, but went quiet when he turned his attention back on the burning building.

“Guess its time to get to work” he sighed, clenching his fists and closing his eyes. In the blink of an eye the teen was engulfed in flames, his clothing was incinerated instantly and his body was left bathed in fire, looking like the Human Torch. The sudden explosion of fire startled the creature on the side of the building and caused him to lose his grip on the organic webbing for a second before he grabbed onto the side of the wall and stopped himself from plummeting to the ground. The teen looked down at him with an amused smirk.

“Asshole!” the creature growled.

“Sorry” he replied, although it was clear to anyone that heard him that he wasn’t totally sorry.

Without another second of hesitation, the super being jumped off the building and landed in the middle of the street a few away from the other super beings, flames lashing out slightly from his body like it was a living armor. He was in the middle of raising his hands when suddenly a gun shot was heard, and bullet raced at him, only to be incinerated by the fire surrounding him. He turned and glared at the police officer that had fired at him. He raised his hand, ready to fire a blast at the cop, but decided against it, so he just sighed and shook his head and turned back to the task before him. Raising his hands once again he closed his eyes focused.

Seconds past and nothing happened,

As everyone watched, the fire started to pull away from the building, and flowed towards the teen, slowly at first, but when his eyes shot open the flames around his flared up and the fire from the building suddenly raced towards him as if someone had just given it a good solid kick in the ass. The fire hit Terry’s chest and he started to absorb it into him. Grunting with the effort the concentration took out of him. It took nearly ten minutes before all the flames dissipated and then finally it was gone all forever. Terry’s own fire died down to its normal size and he fell to one knee, panting heavily. Absorbing fire was a lot harder then discharging it.

“You ok?” asked the super beings with light green eyes, coming over to see if he was ok..

“Yeah, I’ll be fine” Terry replied, getting to his feet slowly. “Who are you?”

“Darkangel, and you would be?” the super being replied.

Terry cracked his shoulder joints.

“Name’s Firestorm.”

And before anyone else could say a thing, he blasted off into the sky, leaving a trail of fire in his wake.

Kaiser Dragoon - January 7, 2006 12:48 AM (GMT)
Wrath felt his costume attempt to lunge after the fiery being that had apparently devoured the flame. I'll-

"Relax, even if we did chase after him to beat him down, remember what he's made of?"

Yeah...

"Flames. You don't like fire all that much." He couldn't help but me smug. The opportunities were rare and scarce in that their roles of tormenting one another could be reversed and he took every chance he could get to retaliate for all of the symboite's big talk.

"We're going to wait here, as tempting as it may be to stuff his head through his lungs." The symboite chuckled.

I've really rubbed off on you.

"Please," he scoffed. "Only in your dreams."

I'm not capable of dreams, but I can live vicariously through yours. This tongue and cheek battle could last for hours or even days, depending on the mood of the other. At that he scaled down the rest of the wall and his symboite swirled into a firefighter form of attire and blended into the crowd, moving closer towards these super human like creatures, hoping to learn more of what this corrupt city was like.

Shade looked over the small group of abnormal humens. Looking them over and reading their auras he started to me come more and more interged(sp) by them.

It was then that he picked up something at the edge of his senses. Turning around he scaned the area looking for what ever it was that had perked his interest. Coming to face one of the builds that lay not to far a way he spotted something that was totally new to him.

It was human and yet it was not. completely confused shade closed his as he called on what was left of his inner power. Where once his power felt like a large jungle cat with all it's grace and power it now felt like a household kitten.

Sending out the weakened thread of power out ahead of him shade reached out to the unknown creature. After a few seconds the thread of power had eached it's target and the flood of information made shade even more confused. the being seemed to be of a dual lifeform and a single one all at the same time.

while dual lifeform reading was not all that new to him, after all any being with a symboite of some kind would give off such a reading and there were many such relationships like that in nature, no the confusing part was that none of the relationships had a human memeber and none of them gave off the single life form reading at the same time. the only thing that made sense to shade was that what ever this dual lifeform was it was becoming one being.

wanting to test this thearoy shade sent a little more power through thread. however, as the extra power hit it was roughly throwen back at him with a voiceless yet irate "STAY OUT."

shade was able to shake his head to clear the ringing the feed back had left just in time to see a humen engulfed in fire "eat" the fires of the burning building effectively putting the fire out.

*maybe the human world won't be so boring after all* shade thought to him self.

Kaiser Dragoon - January 15, 2006 03:46 PM (GMT)
Wrath felt a small spasm like twitch jolt his head. "What was that?" He asked to his symboite, standing still in the midst of the melee of emergency crews and people gathering in a circle about these heros who'd aided in rescuing lives.

Something, probbed us.

"Probbed?"

Yeah, it was strange, something tried to touch you.

"I didn't know you cared."

Can it and let's go see who these do gooders are. The symboite snapped back as Wrath moved towards them, his costume still swirling as his clothing, aggitated by the attempt to invade its host's mind without its conscent. He began to distinguish the features of each one, sizing them up as he casually pushed through other people to truly see what these super powered beings were like up close and personal.

Terry flew across the city leaving a trail of fire in his wake.

Those that saw him from below thought it was fiery meteorite that had entered earths atmosphere, but strangely none of them seemed all that worried. Terry banked left and dove downwards into a street until he was an inch off the road, his nose nearly grazing it as he flew in and around cars and flew under a truck before pulling up sharply and shooting into the air again like a speeding missile.

For several minutes he flew around the city before landing on the highest building that overlooked the city. His flames vanished, leaving him dressed in dark red body suit with black trims, the initals F.S. stitched in a diagonal form on his chest.

He sat down with his knee's pulled almost up to his chest and stared out at the city full of criminals and super villians. He wasnt a super hero though, or rather he didnt really want anything to do with stopping super villians unless it was absolutely necessary, he had his own problems to worry about, without having to worry about having a horde of super villians on his ass, one was enough....

"Oh well" he said to himself, laying back with his hands under his head. "I knew what I was getting myself into when I came here, might as well suck it up and do what I can while I can...."

Sparky - February 7, 2006 01:27 AM (GMT)
His head pulled back from the scope and he took another heavy drag of his cigar. Normally he was a ciggarette man but that the man he had.....'saw'....had some cigars on him and he was out of his usual smokes so he took the chance, pleasantly surprised by the fine taste. He rolled the smoke round in his fingers eyeing it with a grin that just showed slightly pointed teeth all the way round inside his mouth, "Not like I'm gonna die of cancer"

Whatever that guy had been he had a keen eye for the good things. The cigar rolled around in his mouth as he took in the group of wierdos by the recently put out burning building by the one that streaked off like an overly large firefly, "fucking showboats" he mumbled and the scope jittired lightly as the rifle moved shakily, his hands quivering slightly. He took his grip off the trigger and shook his hand and reached towards the bag tied over his left back pocket, slid the zipper along and rumuged round inside he till he thought he found what he was looking for and held it up to his eyes before his brow tightened, it wasn't what he was looking. He was sure he had some mescaline in there and his brow tightened further as he tried to remember what this was instead.

His brow straightened with shrugging indifference and eyes turned back toward the group in the distance without looking through the scope as he undid the lid of the bottle and tossed two pills in his mouth chewing them, they had that tangy taste whatever they were and it made his tongue flick out once or twice as he put the lid back on and stuck it back in his magic bag then went back to the scope. He grinned thinking he could pop a couple before they knew what it was happening and even took cover or some other movement.

He pushed the thought aside as he turned the scope back towards it's intended, original target. As if on cue the car started rolling up the road, the black limosine coasting along. What was it with people like this and black limosines, he shock his head at the cliche and waited till he had optimum aim and fired.....

The bullet speed from the barrel of the Barrett light .50 punctured throught the bonnet and blew the gas tank to hell. The car went up with it, front part of the vehicle lifting up in a nice display of flames that he found was rather nice to watch and then it slammed back down on the ground. A few seconds later one of the back doors opened up. The rear end of the car not entirely sent to hell with the rest of it, the freaking limosine so long the back really was that far out of reach of the flames.

The sniper cursed as the back door opened but quickly found himself amused as the man he was after fell out from the vehicle clawing his way as he came. Half his body on fire as his suit feed the flames. Apparantly the limosine just wasn't quite long enough afterall. He bite down on his cigar in mirth and fired a shot through one of the mains leg's, the high caliber rifle blowing it off from just below the knee and the suit fell the ground wriggling as he went. Leaning back from the rifle the sniper let out a tangible laugh at this and chuckled a little looking at the figure still trying to crawl away slightly now completely covered in flame, "Ok get serious now" He told himself and aimed through the scope and put a clean shot in the mans burning cheek as his head turned round in yet more screaming which instantly stopped.

Still trying to stop a couple of amused smirks the figure on the roof quickly started putting his rifle away before walking away from the edge of the building favouring his right foot avoiding the limp his left gave him.

His hand rumuged round again in his magic bag and he frowned, he still had some time left before he headed home, he'd make sure to stop and get some more mescaline before he did........

Wrath made his way to the collective of do gooders and smirked. His jade green symboite came to life and bound about him in a dramatic whirl, his disguise melting away as the costume took its default form. Emergency crews leaping back in terror and bewilderment at this alien humanoid creature.

"So, whose the ring leader?"

He chuckled, even his symboite had to give him credit, he knew how to make an entrance.
