Title: Metal!
guyver_reborn - September 20, 2005 09:31 PM (GMT)
:war: Tis been a while, work, college and alot of other shit is eaten up my time, but im gonna start making better effort to visit the lair anyway....
Right now Im working in place where lots of people have left and replacements are not being hired, no overtime alowed, but same work expected etc.....
I am thinking of leaving however to do what... work in a call centre (if im gonna be a pencil pusher i want to be in management, no offense anyone who works in likewise jobs), construction (will collide with college times) so i was thinking of starting a band (might not be the best pay but its something some would even pay for to do) however there is not a single person that I know who likes real metal.
Dose anyone out there like any of the following (I want to know if im the last person who likes this stuff or not)...?
Heavy Metal
Black Metal
Thrash Metal
Death Metal
Meldoic Death
Tru-Metal Oldies
And even if you dont like this stuff, post what you like and your opinions.
Nothing like helpful suggestions :beers: ....or heated debates :bang:

I'm sure of have something of those genres in my music folder, I like the stuff but I'm not a fan of the wailing of one's head off. Though their intrumental talents are amazing, but that's just my humblest of humble opinions.

Cant you appriciate the stamina of "wailing one's head off" and the uniquness of their voice? Not every one can do it, and not every one who can do it is good at it.

I one wishes to wail one's head off that's fine, I just don't consider it as talented as some lead singers from other bands :beers:

Ooh, it looks like we've a metallica fan in the house!
I'm a major fan of Metallica and Disturbed.
They are heavy metal and thrash metal, and I think I saw Metallica also classified as speed metal.

I am indeed a fan of pre-St Anger Metallica [666] (never got a chance to listen to disturbed though :$ )
I'd say Metallica are Heavy Metal or oldies though (I just dont think thrash/speed is appropriatefor them) Have you ever seen them live?

My first exposure to them was Enter Sandman and The Unforgiven. Later, I found Shoot Me Again, and St. Anger and have been hooked since on anything Metallica.
I recommend you check out Disturbed, starting with their first album, The Sickness.
Down with the Sickness and Stupify are two fan favorites.
After The Sickness, came their second album, Believe. Check out the ending song, Darkness. It really reminds me of my father and what I went through watching him die from Cancer.
Their 3rd album, Ten Thousand Fists, came out 2 days ago, and I'm already hooked. It's a mix of the first 2 albums.
Songs to check out there are:
Ten Thousand Fists
Just Stop
Deify
I'm Alive
Sons of plunder
Overburdened
Hope you decide to check them out and enjoy them.
No, I've never seen them live. Bet it was wild, though. :666:
