I remember back during the last few seasons of Xena warrior princess the show pretty much rallied against all common sense to do the most stupid things imaginable. Histarocal characters who lived centurys apart from each other began to come onto the show interacting with the main characters (King David, Vlad the Impaler and Julius Ceasar were not contemporaries). They began to do incredibly stupid things by having fake copout character development where Xenas evil daughter turned good just from having a flashy light shined in her face. And to further insult the audience every other episode was a filler episode. I have no idea how that show lasted as long as it did. I remember reading some Xena fans rant about how he was sad that they cut off her head in the last episode and I was like"huh?". All the bad things that had saturated the show had eaten away at any sympathy at all I had for the characters. If I had wrote the ending I definatly would not have been so kind. but despite it all it was finnally over. But where Xena fell many other bad shows sprang up to replace it until I just stoped watching normal tv altogether. I havent actively watched anything on normal tv since X-files was cancelled.

But there's just no escaping bad things on tv. I think you all know how I feel about totally spies and Hamtaro. Recently another new show was added ontot he cartoon network that further proves that theres a raving madman running that network. I'm referring to "Krypto the superdog" which is about supermans talking dog who comes to earth for some reason. The shows full of annoying stuff but normally it wouldnt be bad enough to be ranked alongside the likes of totally spies and hamtaro. Normally it would just be "kid next door bad" and not "totally spies" bad. But the reason why its that bad is because cartoon network seems to be compelled to fill up their time slots with that show. It doesnt matter what time of the day I turn it on, their always playing stupid krypto GRAAAAGGHHH!! Must destroy insane guy running cartoon network GRAAAGGHHH!!!

But it also looks like movies arent safe either, for the past few years the amount of good movies seems to be thinning and the amount of dumb movies seems to be growing. When I was sitting through the preveiws for star wars 3 I noticed almost all the previews looked pretty dumb or at best mediocre. Especially shark boy and lava girl! Who thought that was a good idea? Why? WHY? I feel like I'm Dib on Invader Zim, whose the only person who realizes how stupid things are, except for me its like I'm the only one who realizes how stupid movies and TV are getting. Surely most other people havent noticed, if they had we wouldnt be seeing such a huge increase in stupid TV and movies :w00t:

honestly? thats why i spend most of my day playing videogames, working, or sitting on the comp, cause TV sucks, except for the hsitory channel, and food network <.< sometimes i watch animal planet too.

I liked Xena, mostly because I knew the characters couldn't all fit in there in actuality but it's called suspending your belief Mr Z and just enjoy the show for what it is, if you get all hung up over that you're gonna have a heart attack by the age of 30 :P

Well the thing with characters from other historys getting all mashed in one time area with no explanation was kind of annoying to me, but I could have forgiven that if the show didn't turn stupid in every other area. I remember they had one episode where there was a guy in the future who looked like Joxer who was Xenas reincarnation and that whole episode was just dumb. I liked the first half of the show but the second half just gradually filled up with dumb things like that. Thats the main reason why I stopped liking it.

Well yeah, the show was drawing to a close and the reincarnation bit was a bit much, but it was still rather entertaining to watch as long as you decided not to nit pick everything B)

Maybe kaiser but he's right, towards the end and last series it was just beginning to get crap. Basically it was loosing cohetion and i think hte producers were probaly smoking something. He's also right about most other things to, I mean tv is getting crap these days. I swear the amount of Reality shows is driving my nuts.

The real reason TV is getting so bad is that stupid people are reproducing to such high numbers that they're accually getting put in important places, such as TV studios.
So when stupid people get placed in these important positions, they tend to do equally stupid things. And since alot of the audaince are stupid people, they like the stupid shit, and want to see MORE of it.

They're stupid that way.

So it's an endless cycle.. with stupider and stupider people getting the more important jobs. Eventually the stupid people will realise that they outnumber the smarter ones and stage open revolt, thus killing off everyone too stupid to enjoy all the stupid shit happening.

This is esspecually bad in america.. where stupid people are accually ENCOURAGED to reproduce with other stupid people.

And to further illistrate my point. Just look at everything Dubya's done in office. 95% of the things he's done are supported by the same people who genuinly enjoy stupid TV. Hell.. Dubya IS stupid TV.

Personally, I avoid the issue alltogeather by not watching Tv... period.

Stage our own coup de tah(sp) Strike down the stupid people before they get us, Hey how hard can it be they are stupid afterall. We have members from the international community here lets organize and attack.

Solution No. 2

A more realistic solution is to run your internet through your phone (not dial up, I repeat not dial up), and to subscribe to a PAID download site (the ones you don't pay for are Pirate sites and thus Very ILLEAGAL) at these sites you can watch the shows you do like as well as movies Including ANIME.
