I just got this game on Monday and this has pretty much been the only game i have touched since then, when i gfirst got it i played it for at least 5 hours straight. This game is based off the anime, not sure if theres a tie-in or not, or wether you'r accually going through the anime story, or just a short part of it. there's already a second one in the works.

I love this game, it's an rpg with a real time battle system, if you can even call it a battle system, you just rubn around whacking the people with no transitions whatsoever. also the big armored alphonse is with you to help fight, while you can't control him directly, you can tell him to use a cannon, pick up a weapon, or tackle a person if he's close to you, you can also have him act like a shield and guard you as well.

You can transmute almost any object in the game with alchemy, some you can transmute several times, for example, you can turn a park bench into a doll like clone of yourself, letting him distract the enemies, and once he gets broken, you can transmute the doll into an item. In the second stage you change a train engine into a giant cannon, you can also repair a rock pillar with alchemy, because you need to jump across it several times if you happen to fall. also you turn a car into a big stairway, and in one stage you turn a fountain into a fire hydrant. I haven't beat this game yet, but it's fun as hell to play.

I enjoy using the rubber mallet that you get in the 4th level, because you can whack someone as many times as you want, until they run out of hp of course, since the mallet does only one damage, but with the mallet you can keep them up in the air forever if you can time your button mashing right, also another reason i love the mallet is because the higher your combo, the more bonus exp you get when the combo breaks, my best combo so far is like 132.
