Title: FFXI

WarriorZoalord - March 11, 2005 10:17 AM (GMT)
Alright, I dont know how many of you have this, probably none, or will get this game, again probably none. but I got this game for the PC for my B-day, and was playing it yesterday. I know with the PC version, you get the FFXI game, the Rise of Zilart expansion, and an online version of the Terta Master card game from FFIX. You also get a free 30 day trial subscription to FFXI.

My character is a Mithra (For those fo you who dont have the game, think riv's char in Mad Guyvers) Red Mage, Level 5, and a level 3 warrior, but until one job is level 18 and you finish a quest, you cant have more than one job active at any given time. once this quest is completed you can equip a support job, no matter what level the support job is, it'll be 1/2 the maximum value of yoru main job, so if you have say a level 60 dragoon, and a level 50 warrior as your sub class, it';ll be knocked down to level 30, now if you have a level 60 dragoon and a level 12 red mage as your support job it'll be level 12.

the graphics are pretty cool, especially if you have a higher end card and cpu that way you dont have to go with the lower settings. the party system is cool, you can have 6 people in yoru party, and you can string 3 parties together to create an alliance. and once you reach level 30 you can get quests for advanced jobs such as the dragoon, ninja, summoner, samurai, paladin, dark knight, beastmasters, bards, and rangers. and thats not including any in the other expansion that you have to buy separate, but you dont need that one to play, anyway the main game and rise of zilart will keep you occupied for a long time.

I'd say if you love FF, and have the money to spend each month, get this game, after the first month its 12.99 a month base + 1.00 a month for tetra master (If you buy a content id for it, if you jsut have it installed, but not activated, its free still.) and 1.oo a month for any other characters you create (first ones included in the 12.99 fee), for a max of 16 characters.

Though if you have a 56k modem, be prepared for a really long wait to update the game to play initially, it took me 2 hours to update using a cable modem.

i've got the game on my ps2. haven't played in a long time. what world you in?

WarriorZoalord - March 11, 2005 05:25 PM (GMT)
I got shoved onto Titan.

Which world are you in?

Also i got some screen shots in game that i'll post up later when i can figure out where the hell they are stored at.... cause i know play online saves 'em somewhere automatically instead of needing a program like paint to copy them to inorder to save them.

My brother brought this game for me to awhile ago. But I don't have the internet so... I liked the game.

WarriorZoalord - March 13, 2005 10:47 AM (GMT)
did your brother not know it was online only when he bought it for you?

*Frowns*

Wait a minute, I thought there as a part that you could play offline

WarriorZoalord - March 13, 2005 11:25 AM (GMT)
nope. FFXI is 100% totally online. its not like phantasy star online where there was the offline mode as well. since Square keeps ALL character info on there servers, theres no way you could play it offline.

Do you know if there's a server for Australian users?

WarriorZoalord - March 13, 2005 11:39 AM (GMT)
everyone in the world can connect to anty server, heck i ran into some japanese guys the other day... they were tyoping in there own language and i'm like "WTF?" they were not using the auto translate ability, guess they didnt wanna waste the extra time since they werent in a party.

Riven - March 13, 2005 11:40 AM (GMT)
In that case I might pick the game up soon

WarriorZoalord - March 13, 2005 11:43 AM (GMT)
I was busy all day yesterday so i couldn't find them effin screenshots. anyway if you join riv, gimme your handle name and what server you got stuck on, that way if you dont end up on the server that i am on, i might beable to look for a world pass seller and get one so you could come join me ^-^

Riven - March 13, 2005 11:50 AM (GMT)
Thanks Warrior, I'll let you know

I'm gonna see about getting it tomorrow or at least getting it put behind the counter so it doesnt get sold, best part is that it comes with its expansions

WarriorZoalord - March 13, 2005 12:02 PM (GMT)
unless your getting a bundle pack, it only comes with one of the two expansions, though the game and the first expansion will keep you going a long time.... which reminds me i gotta look up and see whatthe second expansion accually give you. cause i know the first one gives you the dragoon, samurai, and ninja advanced jobs.

Riven - March 13, 2005 12:25 PM (GMT)
This one says it comes with both so I'm guessing its a bundle pack

WarriorZoalord - March 13, 2005 12:33 PM (GMT)
awww.... you lucky..... mine only came with Rise Of Zilart.

Riven - March 13, 2005 12:34 PM (GMT)
Do you know of any sites that have pictures of the races ?

WarriorZoalord - March 13, 2005 12:42 PM (GMT)
try the official square-enix website, then select FF XI from the games menu, thats the only way i can think of. but like i said before, there are humans. the mirtha are kinda like your mad guyver char, as in female feline humanoids. the rest are too hard to explain, which is why i wish i could find my effin snapshots, as i took some of all the races but hume, the humans.

trey square-enix.com or playonline.com

Riven - March 13, 2005 12:50 PM (GMT)
Yeah I'm looking at some pictures of a Mithra at the moment, I'll probably play as one of those as they incorperate one of my favorite traits, High Agility.

WarriorZoalord - March 13, 2005 12:57 PM (GMT)
I'm a mithra as well, though start in windrust for your allegience, since mithra get this cool ring that gives them some stat bonus's while not LARGE bonus's anythings good for a level 1 guy. also iuf you ever talk to any of the mithra, most of the time they draw ther r;'s out like therrrre.

Riven - March 13, 2005 09:37 PM (GMT)
cool

I'm not even sure if my computer meets all the requirements though, but even if it doesnt work on this computer, I'm gonna get a new computer eventually thats better then the current one I have now, and this new one will be for gaming only.

WarriorZoalord - March 14, 2005 06:51 AM (GMT)
well, the processor isnt that hard to pass, min requierments is like 800mhz, vid card just needs to be ati or nvidiawith 32mb ram, and you have to have 6 gigs of hard drive space, personally the only thing i had problems with was the hard drive, as i just got my new one for my b-day. thats what was keeping me form getting this game sooner.

Tydorei Belouve - March 14, 2005 09:03 PM (GMT)
Before I moved to Alabamma I had the internet and played the game.

Just had to say that so you guys don't think my borther is ultra dumb.

WarriorZoalord - March 15, 2005 04:17 AM (GMT)
well the way you said it, sounded like you were guessing that you liked the game :P

Riven - March 15, 2005 05:42 AM (GMT)
Hey Warrior, do me a favor

Next time you're on FF11, see if you cant find any Australian users and find out the following information for me.

Monthly Fee
Extra Character Fee's and
Payment Method

I really need to know this information before I buy it. I know what the American fee's are, and payment method, but I need to know exactly what the Australian ones are as they could be completely different.

WarriorZoalord - March 15, 2005 06:10 AM (GMT)
that might be pretty hard to find out, but i'll try.

Riven - March 15, 2005 06:40 AM (GMT)
please try because I want to know before I got pay a hundred bucks for a computer game

WarriorZoalord - March 15, 2005 06:42 AM (GMT)
100 bucks? wow. anyway check your pms.

Riven - March 15, 2005 06:53 AM (GMT)

Aye I've been checking the pms

And the reason why its a hundred bucks is because it has both expansion packs in it

WarriorZoalord - March 17, 2005 06:45 AM (GMT)
any who my level 6 elvaan monk is dishing out more damage than my level 8 mithra warrior because of the multi attacks that a monk gets, a war only gets one attack while a monk gets two, sometimes more if they kick also, kicks are totally random so you never know when you'll get one. my level 8 war is doing like 15 damage with one weapon attack, but a monk gets two attacks for every one the war takes, and he';s douing about 12 a punch, thats without any extra hand to hand weapons equipped to him.

*Drags omega in since he learned she has the game.*
