I remember about 4 months ago both Riv and Astro brought up ideas for a Robotech RPG, now I'm just curious but are these plans dead in the water? or is there a chance they can be revived, since I'm, all for this *points to his current library char* as I am an Avid Robotech fan, the only series I haven't seen in its entirety is the New Generation, which takes place during the invasion by the invids, which happens to coincide with the Robotech: Invasion game. If either of them plan on accually doing this, or willing to help start it up, I'm game for leading it.

I've still thought about doing it, but I have no plans to start it until I've seen all of the Robotech: Marcoss Saga, Robotech Masters and New Generation and that could be a while yet as I have no intention of buying them any time soon

but if you want to go ahead and do one, don't let me and Astro stop you. As long as I get to fly my own veritech and command my own squadron, I don't give a rats ass ^_^

Though I was wondering, would you guys prefer a canon RPG? as in we pick a time period and RP minor characters in the series, or an AU version where we could have cyclones in the macross saga. I'm open to suggestions.

Riv, if you want a lot of background on robotech, go to there official site at www.robotech.com it has a majority of the mecha, character bios, and a little something on all the series....

Personally I think if you do it you shouldn't involve any of the characters from the anime, manga, novels or anything like that, mentioning them in then third person would probably be fine.

thats why i said "minor" chjaracters, thats pretty much everyone that dosent have an important role, such as all the other pilots we never get to see.... besides watching there fighters go boom, or the un named releif techs for the bridge crew. there are like 50,000 people on the ship in the first series alone, I think we can create people to play just fine.

I also forgot to mention I don't think it should be involved with ANY of the anime, manga, novels or games.

I mean set it apart, create your own story, your own set of aliens for us to fight and the such. But that doesnt mean it has to be AU either, it could be set so many years after the animes, mangas, novels and the such.

Hmm,. thats a possibility, but lets see what others have to say first. get a bigger picture of what everyone wants.

I don't think we should mess with any characters established in the offical versions of Robotech, thats all.

I agree its better if you use your own characters and only the originals as background. Then you dont have to worry about continunity. Plus it sounds like fun. My character will be a decendent of Quintin McCale :lol:

well, lets hear what the others have to say, then i'll work on the pening posts, also, you can use any official mecha, or any of the mecha from the sites that riv had in his posts :P
