Title: Battle Angel world stats

Mr Zektoll - January 6, 2005 06:47 AM (GMT)
As we all know there are a number of rpg’s in the works, some of which such as the muppets, giant monsters and pokemon rpg’s seem to be getting a slow start. Battle Angel too, but I thought I’d try to set a good example by starting this relatively soon. So here s the world stats for the scrapyard and Zalem(Tiphares). Later on when the rpg gets to the point where stats are required for things beyond the scrapyard and zalem I’ll put them up.
This RPG will take place right after Gallys Tuned body is destroyed by Novas bomb and before the first Last Order Storyline.

It’s unknown exactly what year it is, but it’s in the far future. Countless wars have taken place over the centuries, many of which involve Mars, the birthplace of the legendery cyborg martial arts known as the Panzar Kunst.

On earth there exists a floating city connected to an orbital tower in space. This city is known as Zalem(Tiphares) And the station on top of the tower is known as Jeru(Kitheres).

The Scrapyard: Below Zalem is a 3rd world civilization known as the scrapyard which is devided into a western and eastern sectors. The Scrapyard and Zalem have a symbiotic relationship. The Scrapyard produces the bulk of Zalems materials from food to clothing and is also responsible for disposing of the things they dump such as garbage. The Scrapyard survives on Zalems leftovers and most of its inhabitants live in poverty.

Cybernetics in the Scrapyard: Much of the scrapyards population are cyborgs for one reason or another. Many of them became cyborgs by choice, either to enhance combat abilities or to replace limbs that were lost either to combat or desease. However that’s not always the case. Many people become cyborgs because they inadvertently became victims of the lone shark quack doctors that frequent some of the scrapyards shadier areas. These shady characters use bubble like tents that function as mobile operating rooms to maximize their number of victims. If someone happens to get hit by a car, they’ll often operate and turn them into a cyborg on the spot. If they don’t have the money for the operation, they’ll be indepted to them until they find other means to pay for it. It hasn’t been unheard of for these shady characters to trip people on the street just so they can get another patient. Cyborgs in the scrapyard can come in all shapes and sizes, most are humanoid but that isn’t always the case.

Gladiator cyborgs: These cyborgs are at least five meters tall and fight in an arena style area. Their fights are televised even on Zalem. Examples of these types of cyborgs are Kinuba, Zahriki, Grewcicca and Vanado. Gladiator rules permit these types of cyborgs to use a variety of cutting weapons such as vibro whips, Chain saws and giant flying balded disks as well as other things. The gladiator colisium is in the eastern sector of the scrapyard. Trajectory and explosive weapons are forbiddon for use in gladiator tournaments.

Motorball Cyborgs: The other sport of the scrapyard, like the gladiator sports, this is also televised even in Zalem. This sport is much more complex then the gladiator fights. In Motorball seventeen cyborgs compete against each other to claim the moterball and be the first to get it across the finish line. Motorball is sort of like a combination of car racing, soccer and martial arts. Although everyone is technically competing against each other its not unheard of for players to team up and work together against stronger players. There are seven rules for playing moterball.

1. The victor is the one who crosses the finish line with the moterball after a certain number of laps.
2. Traffic on the circuit goes one way only, anyone who goes back more then three meters gets penalized.
3. Stopping for more then a minute on the course results in disqualification.
4. The game will temporarily be haulted if the moterball is destroyed or lost. It resumes when a new ball is dispatched.
5. Use of hand held weapons, trajectory or explosive weapons is forbiddon, all weapons must be a part of the cyborgs body.
6. Fighting in pit lanes results in disqualification
7. Ball keepers must not enter the pit stop.

There are a number of leagues in moter ball , the lowest is the sandlot league which consists of unofficial games and amateur games. Next is the third league, then 2nd and First, each with a higher level of skill then the previous league.

It’s never stated what the size and wheight limit for a moterball cyborg is in the manga. I’ll assume that Tiegals size is around the largest allowed in moterball. Like in the colisium a number of different built in weapons are allowed in moterball, pretty much anything outside of the illegal weapons mentioned is allowed in moterball.

Hunter Warriors: To help maintain order in the scrapyard, the factory managed by Zalem issues bounties on criminals that registered bounty hunters known as hunter warriors can hunt down criminals for chips(the currency of the scrapyard). When a criminal is caught , their head is cut off and turned in to the factory by the hunter warrior so that he can get his reward. It’s illegal for a hunter warrior to try to steal the head of a captured bounty from a fellow hunter. Hunter warriors can use any weapon they like except for things like guns. Guns are illegal for anyone in the scrapyard to own , and to do so is punishable by death.

The deckman robots: These are the really funky looking robots that run the factories. They also enforce the smaller laws that Hunter Warriors aren’t required for. A deckman usually looks like a weird cylindrical looking thing with big lips and funky goggles. Another variation are defensive deckman robots who have big cannons used to shoot down things like illegal flying machines. At least some of these deckman robots used to be human.

Drugs in the scrapyard: The most common drug of the scrapyard is based on human endorphins. Endorphin junkies will sometimes kill people for their endorphins if they can’t get them through regular means. Some cyborgs like Makaku have powerful jaws that can rip brains straight out of peoples skulls making it easy to get an endorphin fix.

Lycanthrozine: A less common drug that temporarily changes its user into an incredibly strong beastial form that is powerful enough to rip apart standard cyborgs.

Body part theft: Another common crime of the scrapyard is the theft of things like spinal collums which are hard to come by.

Zalem: Zalem is the city in the sky. It’s people float over the Scrapyard and are regarded as some of the surface dwellers to be gods.

Coming of age ceremony: When someone living in Zalem reaches adulthood their brain is removed and sent to Jeru. However they have no knowledge of this since after the removal of the brain it’s replaced by a bio chip with identical memories to the original brain. After the ceremony is complete they receive a mark on their foreheads to signify adulthood (I’ll put up a pic later)

The real purpose of Zalem: Zalem serves two purposes, one is to supply brains to Jeru which are used as components in a huge neural network that makes up a vast cerebral matrix. This network is what makes up Melchizedik, the artificial intelligence that along with the mysterious man known as Aga Mbadi control Jeru. The other purpose of Zalem is what is known as the GENE project. Zalem was used as a test environment in an attempt to create geniuses such as Desty Nova. The majority of the citizens of Zalem didn’t realize this potential. The majority that could have either committed suicide or were eliminated as genetically predisposed criminals. Only four geniuses were successfully created. The three proceeding Nova traveled to Jeru where their bio chips were removed by Aga Mbadi.

M.I.B: No this isn’t the men in black, this stands for Medical Inspection Bureau. This is entirely automated. The job of the MIB robots are to eliminate genetic criminals and to keep the fact that adult brains have been replaced a secret. If anyone discovers the secret, their to be eliminated.

Whoa, that is a ton of information I'm grateful

I can't wait for this RPG to get off the ground ^^

I almost forgot, here's a list of imporatnt character and fighting styles in the battle angel universe. If you want to play one of these characters ask me first.

Important characters in the rpg:

Gally/Alita: Star of the series, Gally was discovered by Dr. Ido in the trash falling from Zalem. She was formerly the martian warrior Yohko, a nearly peerless and ruthless master of the Panzar Kunst. Upon discovery she had no memories of her life as Yohko and has only recently began to regain them. Currently Gally is in Zalem having a new body constructed by Nova.

Mr. Vector: Until recently the factories were controlled entirely by deckman robots, however locals such as Mr . Vector were also hired to help manage the factories. Mr Vector controls six of the scrapyard factories and is also the biggest broker of illegal parts. He’s kind of a sleazy guy indulging an all sorts of criminal activities.

Desty Nova: The infamous fourth Genius of Zalem who left the city in the sky of his own free will to pursue experiments too crazy to be allowed in Zalem. Nova specializes in the use of nanotechnology. He is the only one on the surface who has access to it. Novas ultimate ambition is to find a way to conquer Karma. Nova is the one who created the bodies of Makaku the crazed endorphin junkie and Jashugan the former undefeated moterball champion. Nova is quite mad and will subject his patients to all sorts of crazy experiments changing them into abominations. However while Nova isn’t playing with a full deck of cards there are a few important things to remember about him. He won’t tamper with a subjects free will and Nova is interested in finding a successor to carry on his quest to conquer Karma. At this point Nova has headed off to Zalem with what is left of Gallys body. Novas nanites can rebuild his body even if he is killed, if his head is chopped off, he has a backup brain in his stomach.

The tuned AR series: After Gallys battle with Zapan she was rebuilt by Zalem to be Tuned agent whose mission was to take down the Barjack resistance group and locate Nova. About mid way through her mission Zalem created 12 combat androids modeled after her. They were also programmed with Gallys same fighting techniques and they all have the same sort of bio chip brains adult citizens of Zalem posess. Gally killed AR-2 and Fury the cyber dog ripped the throat out of AR-10. By the end of the original battle angel series all but AR2 and 10 were alive, however that would soon change.

Sechs: Sechs formerly known as AR-6 is the strongest of Gallys copies. Searching for the reason for her existence she hunted down and killed all the other AR series with the exceptions of 11 and 12. Although at the time this rpg takes place most of the AR series haven’t been killed by her yet so if anyone wants to play any of the AR androids that were still alive after the original battle angel go ahead. Sechs also developed her own fighting style called the Sechster Angriff

Zwolf and Elf: Two other AR androids. After they were released from Zalems control all the androids developed more individual personalities. While Sechs is violent and battle hungry Zwolf and Elf are more playful and tend to act like sisters. They only fight when they know for sure they’ll win. Their specialty is monowire weaponry.

Figure Four: a human who was romantically involved with Gally for a short time. He uses a martial art simialer to Gallys Panzar Kunst even though he has a human body. Figures goal is to take down 1000 cyborgs in combat. Right now he’s waiting for Gally to return from her mission.

Kaos: Kaos is the son of Desty Nova. Most of the time he’s kind of wishy washy , but he has his moments of bravery. He also possesses the ability of psychometry. In other words if he touches an object he automatically understands how it works as well as its history. Kaos found an anchient samurai sword, just by touching it he gained swordsmanship that surpasses even the greatest cyborg masters of the scrapyard. Kaos dream is to build a tower that connects Zalem to the Scrapyard. He came to Vector with his dream, but Vecotr was less then impressed. He put a shackle around his neck that also binds his right hand. The deal Vector gave Kaos was that if he could return ater wearing his shackle for one year and still speak of his dream he might consider helping him.

Jim Roscoe: Roscoe is one of the few who has the potential to become a genius like Nova. Later on he goes crazy and releases a huge monster programmed with his personality to destroy Zalem , but this hasn’t happened yet. Jim still has his brain. Two important things to understand about Jim is that he doesn’t consider people who have lost their brains to be human. Also he’s somewhat nihilistic losing faith in how the world is cruel, he thinks it would be better if everyone just died.

Aga Mbadi: The mysterious overseer of Jeru. Mbadi stole the bio chips from the first three geniuses and incorporated them into his own brain. As a result he is a super genius nick named Trinidad. He is also a master nanotech hacker. Simply by touching an android he can incapacitate it and control its movements. Mbadi is regarded as a hero among the people of space because he vanquished a notorious nanotech terrorist named Dr. Varies many years ago. He also seems to have a lot of political control around the earth and Mars area.

The Barjack Organization: Barjack was formed as a rebellion against Zalem. This organization was lead by the giant robot known as Den. Den was formerly a split personality of Kaos but Nova transferred him into his own body. Dens personaility is much different from that of Kaos. Where Kaos is fairly wishy washy most of the time Den is a hardened warrior. He tried to blow Zalem out of the sky with a huge cannon but it failed because of Zalems force field. With his ambitions crushed Den went on one last kamikaze run against Zalem attempting to cut the huge cables that tether it to the ground with his sword but was eventually destroyed. Since Den is pure robot it is possible he could be brought back to life, if anyone wants to try that in the rpg I’ll allow it if there’s a good story behind his rivival. After Dens death Barjack for the most part was finished although it may still exist in patches of what it once was. Another important member of Barjack is Koyomi, this girl is a friend of Gallys, she was the baby Gally saved from Makaku in volume one.

Fighting styles:

Panzar Kunst: This is the anchient martian fighting style used by Gally. It can cause damage through armor going to the vulnerble organic parts of a cyborg. It can also use resonance to shatter the bones of an opponent.

Machine Klatsch: This is the martial art style used by Jashugan the former moterball Champ. Maschine Klatch attacks are based off of the manipulation of chi and sonic vibrations to make incredibly destructive attacks rivaling that of the Panzar Kunst. Jashugan was able to destroy the body of his master using the chi energy alone without even touching him. The ultimate attack of Maschine Klatch is when the user is able to obtain even with a machine body "The Flesh of the Great Earth". When using this attack , the user becomes utterly invincible for a short time. However it will almost certainly be fatal. Jashugan melted into a statue after using it. Panzar Kunst also has a simialer attack based on what Gallys master said in her flashback, but no one has demonstarted it yet.

Anti Cyborg martial art: This is the martial art Figure uses, it's pretty simialer to Panzar Kunst in that it destroys soft tissue through the armor. The bases for this martial art is said to have been created by a Japanese genneral in the Nara period.

Space Karate: This isnt used by anyone in the scrapyard to my knowledge but it was kind of cool so I thought I would list it anyway. This is basically regular karate modified for use with extremely powerful cyborg bodies. It relys mostly on super sonic and electromagnatic enhanced attacks to make incredibly destructive blows. There are several different variations of space karate, for example the birdlike cyborg Hogan used a variation of Kotengu space Karate which is supposed to be based off Tengu style karate, created by forest ninjas in anchient Japan.

<looks around>

I Wanna play with a Bezerker body!

Blood, you'll need something better than a Berserker body to beat me....

This sounds like the impact part of my idea for the style I came up with based on the electrical properties of my character, it also makes use of Clive Lee's White Hot Palm technique.

Ok you can have your beserker body, just as long as it isnt out of control like the version Zapan had.

Anyway here's what the plot is going to be. This is going to be taking place right after the last fight where Den was destroyed, the Scrapyard is pretty messed up from that incident since he went stomping around with his big metal body trashing buildings and stepping on people.

Zalem is hiring people to take out the remainder of Barjack since I'm going to have the AR series go out of control early on in the storyline. You can either be a mercenary hired by Zalem or you can be with Barjack or even on your own. But there will be one year gap until Gally wakes up. Once she wakes up that's when the real fun will begin.

Anyway I'm probably going to be using Sechs in this rpg since she's my fave character.

Well.. I won't START that way.. but it might be a fun story hook to unlock the full power eventually..

Refresh my memory.. I remember Aly could manipulate the structure and internals of the Bezerker to an extent.. such as creating those plasa torches around her hands...

EXACTLY how much control does someone have over the bezerker in it's "low power" state like that?

Kaiser Dragoon - January 7, 2005 03:10 AM (GMT)
Hmm what to choose

Mr Zektoll - January 7, 2005 04:37 AM (GMT)
Well if your using a standard beserker body you normally wouldnt be able to change things around like that. You would be able to create plasma fire around your body and you would be stronger and faster then any normal cyborg. The beserker body also has several pre programmed body types that can be adjusted to different types of users, for example Gallys first Beserker body was originaly that of a male warrior but Ido changed the setting to a female body for Gally.

The body Gally gets in last order is a special type of beserker body made by nova called the Imaginaos body. Not only is it stronger and faster then her original body but its nanites can make almost anything Gally can imagine. She used it to make plasma torches and vibro swords in Last Order. In the original ending she used it to change Jeru and Zalem into a giant space sunflower and give her a human body. So if you know how to work the imaginos body properly you can do all sorts of crazy stuff, but only one Imaginos body exists so no one can have one in this RPG

As for unlocking the beserkers potential I might allow that later on in the RPG once we get beyond the Zalem storyline. Also Beserker bodies are very rare. Bloodstorm called the beserker, I may or may not allow a second one right now, I'll have to see how the spirit moves me.

BloodStorm - January 7, 2005 05:26 AM (GMT)
I have an Idea for my character.. I want to play a traveling Bounty Hunter who's indipendantly wealthy, traveling from area to area, always looking for the guy who killed his brother.. and He's always seen with a robotic companion that looks sort of like Grimlock .

Of course.. the guy won't know this, but he accedently killed his own brother, so his search will never be compleat becuase he wont find this out untill later in the story.. and when he does find out it could be the psychological trauma needed to cause him to go bezerk and stuff... Or maybe not..

And I could call him.. Renaldo!

I'm not sure what his fighting style will be.. Probobly some kind of hybrid Impact style mixed with some fancy blade work.. That'lld be cool.. especially is his sword is sheathed in his lizard's tail when he's not using it.. Or maybe he's learned how to focus the bezerker's plasma into the shape of a sword.. I'll have to think about it some more..

Mr Zektoll - January 7, 2005 05:56 PM (GMT)
Well technically I think the only way to release the full potential of the regular beserker body is to enter a certain command, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Right now I think its time to get this started.

Sparky - January 7, 2005 09:46 PM (GMT)
Well Blood, it looks like you'll be the only real challange to my synthoid........... oops, no-one just heard me say that *Erases all your memory*

Anyway I'm hoping my technique will also match up to my characters standards, beware the stranger with one sleave...............
