Double Trouble pt 1

It seemed like it was the first time in weeks since she had gotten a peaceful nights sleep and she wasn’t fond of the idea of getting up just yet. So after turning the alarm clock off – smashing it against a wall – Oni let out a tired yawn and pulled the blankets around her tighter and rolled over. She was enjoying the semi peace that had somehow been brought about between the free people of Earth and Chronos, though the war still raged on, it just wasn’t as full throttle as it had been three years ago. They were still determined to bring Alkanphel and Chronos down and there was still the occasional skirmish week couple of weeks, but even Chronos seemed to be disinterested in fighting at the moment, which sort of made her and the rest of the United Alliance a little uneasy, but Oni was determined to enjoy as much of the peace as possible as she knew it wasn’t going to last. Eventually things would go back to normal and it would be like the war had never stopped.

Oni opened her eyes slightly and stared at the wall. “Computer, transparent” she ordered, and with a beep from the computer registering her command, the wall seemingly disappeared and revealed the endless ocean beyond it. She smiled. “Beautiful.”

Indeed it was, an endless blue in which she could see all types of creatures swimming around, even dolphins and whales that would pass the Triton regularly. It had become one of her favorite pass times, just staring at the ocean and the creatures that inhabit it.
Suddenly she felt something climb up on to her bed, she just smiled slightly as she felt it coming closer and closer, and then when it was close enough she shot straight up and grabbed Creb and pulled him down next to her. Already her three year old son was giggling and struggling to get out of her arms as she tickled him.

“What were you planning on doing huh?” she asked playfully, not stopping once from tickling him. “I bet you were going to try and scare mummy weren’t you?”

The little boy would have replied but he was laughing so much that he couldn’t even begin to form any words at all, and finally she had to stop so he could catch his breath. She looked down at him, he already had shoulder length black hair and crimson red eyes, but both were devoid of silver streaks or flecks like her own. His sister Tora was the same, except her hair was slightly longer, but kept in two pig tails.

“When are you getting up mummy?” Creb asked, almost breathless.

“When I feel like it” she simply reply. “Why don’t you go play with your sister and let mummy sleep a while longer ok?” he just stared at her though with his wildly innocent eyes. “Don’t give me that look Creb” she groaned, she hated it when he looked her like that, but she couldn’t resist such a cute look and her defenses buckled quickly. “Fine! I’m up!” she sighed defeatedly and threw the covers back and got up.

<Oni are you up yet?> came her sisters voice, Oni was very tempted to ignore her but her responsible side got the better of her.

<Yeah, thanks to Creb> she grumbled. <What is it? Everything ok?>

<We just received some new information from HQ, you might want to come up and have a look at it. Oh and there’s something else I want to get your opinion on too> her sister replied.

<I swear Kelly, if this is another question about what color napkins you should get for the wedding reception, I might just have to fly myself into the sun> she told her seriously.

Trey and Kelly had decided to hold off on getting married just yet, as they wanted to get married after the war was over, but for some reason, for the last few months, Kelly had gone wedding crazy and had started planning everything. Much to Oni’s irritation as she was always the first person that her sister came to bounce ideas off.

<No nothing like that> Kelly assured her.

<Fine I’ll be up there soon> Oni told her with a yawn.

It was almost twenty minutes later before she arrived on the bridge, which looked very similar to the bridge of the USS Voyager from Star Trek, only two times bigger. When she had designed the bridge and the rest of the Triton, Oni had taken into account that it should be spacious and cozy, instead of cramped and cold, which was why the Triton was the biggest vessel of any sort on the earth.

“Finally” Kelly said as Oni walked to the center of the bridge, her sister reach down to the captains chair and picked up two wedding dresses, much to Oni’s irritation. “Which one do you think would look better?”

“Why are you asking me? I have no idea which one is better for you and what makes you think I’m interested in helping you pick out a dress? Ask Cory, Sakura or Saraid even to help you, at least they can be truthful about it” she pointed out. “Besides, your probably not going to get married for at least another five or so years, why are you making all these plans now? Its useless and a waste of time, mine and yours.

“Oh stop being such a spoilsport, come on, give me your opinion, please” Kelly begged, causing her sister to sigh.

Oni only gave the dresses a look, knowing that she wasn’t going to hear the end of it until she gave Kelly an answer and she knew her sister was just happy and all about the prospect of getting married. She looked at the dresses carefully, almost as if she really knew which looked better, it was then though, that she suddenly imagined herself in one of them. This caused her to let out a short startled cry and jumped back a few inches, much to the confusion of everyone on the bridge.

“What’s wrong?” Kelly asked, tilting her head ever so slightly.

“I… ahh… never mind” Oni replied, blushing madly. “Go with the left one” she said nervously as she looked away.

Kelly looked at Oni and then at the dresses a couple of times before she finally figured it out, she couldn’t help but smile wickedly. “If you want to try one on, why don’t you? It won’t hurt you know” her sister pointed out, all the while smiling cheerfully.

Oni flinched noticeably and gave Kelly a freaked out look. “There’s no way in hell I’m ever wearing a wedding dress, the fanboys on this sub already have enough to fantasize about and I’m not going to indulge those idiots by trying one of those stupid things on” she explained quickly.

“Oh stop fooling yourself, I know you want to try one of these on, why deny it, its not like its really going to matter” Kelly said and then she smiled wider. “Oh I forgot to tell you that you, Sakura and Cory have to try on your bridesmaid dresses tomorrow, don’t forget.”

“I told you the other day I am not going to be a bridesmaid Kelly!” Oni said with a strangled cry.

Kelly narrowed her eyes at her. “You’re my maid of honor, so you will be a bridesmaid and you will be wearing a dress you got that. I’ve been thinking about this wedding for years now, though you being my maid of honor was never part of that plan but it is now. So get use to it, and you better be there tomorrow or else.”

“Or else what?” Oni challenged.

“Or else I’ll make it known to everyone that you and Anthony played hide the salami” her sister replied, instantly the color drained from her face as she stared at her sister who had that look that said she wasn’t bluffing, not that she was willing to take that chance, she knew Kelly was dead serious anyway. Kelly smiled, knowing she had won the battle. “Good, now that that’s settled, have a look at this intel we received from HQ.”

Oni muttered irritably as Kelly handed her a datapad – another of Oni’s inventions – which she snatched from her sister’s hand angrily. She read over it quickly. “Ok, so Chronos have moved a small force into the Tibetan mountains, so what? Its probably nothing we can’t handle” she pointed out.

“Take a look at the satellite picture” Kelly told her.

Oni opened the picture and her eyes widened slightly in surprise. “Is this picture real?” she asked her sister, Kelly just nodded. “So Chronos have found the remains of a village in the mountains huh? Interesting…. Do we know anything else about this development?”

“We know that Guyver Athena and Guyver Zoalord have been stationed there, so something big might be going down soon” Kelly said causally taking a seat in one of the four seats that surrounded the captains seat. Oni’s seat. “You know you’d think by now that Chronos would stop putting just these two on guard duty. I would have put three dozen Elite Overlords up there along with them, at least that way that would at least be able to put up a decent fight.”

Oni sat down as she stared at the picture on the datapad seriously. “I’ll get Anthony and we’ll go up there to check it out. I was just starting to get use to the quiet life too” she said with a small pout.

“Yeah, well too much quietness isn’t good for the soul” Kelly said dryly.

“Tell me about it” Oni smiled, she then sat back casually, letting herself sink into the soft and comfortable chair. “You know I haven’t seen Jason much in the last couple of weeks, you know what he’s been up to?”

Kelly just smirked. “You really are oblivious to matters of love aren’t you? Honestly though I surprised you didn’t just take the information from his head, or that from your ever so cheery Hand Maiden.”

“Yeah well I make it a point not to invade the minds of my friends and family and just so you…… hey wait a minute, what the hell does Saraid have to do with this?!” Oni demanded.

“You created this sub so you can’t be that much of an idiot” Kelly said dryly, but Oni just stared blankly at her. “Jason and Saraid are seeing each other.”

“What?!” Oni said in shock. “But she’s only seventeen, and he’s almost twenty five, there’s eight years between them!” she added, sounding almost disgusted by it, then she stood up with a determined look in her eyes. “I’m going to put a stop to this.”

“Whoa!” her sister said quickly and grabbed her by her rats tail, but Oni barely felt the tug and the force of her movements yanked Kelly out of her seat, Oni stopped and turned to face her, her sister scowling just slightly at her. “What are you going to do? Tell Saraid she can’t see him or vice versa? Get real, we both know the last person Jason is going to listen to is you and its not like he can’t be trusted with her, I mean this is Jason we’re talking about for crying out loud. As for Saraid, now I know you’ve become like some kind of a mother figure to her and I know you think of her like a daughter, but like you said, she’s seventeen and if you start telling her she can’t do something just because you have problem with it, she is going to lose all the respect she has for you, now do you want that to happen? I know you’re just trying to look out for her, but really think about it for a second, since you saved her from Ailill and his people, you’ve been trying to get her to act like a normal girl and now she is, she’s discovered that she loves someone that also loves her back. You can’t take that away from her.”

Oni just stared at her for a few seconds before sighing defeatedly and sat back down. “Your right as always. Its just, she’s so trusting and I don’t want to see her get hurt, and really if you look at the long extensive history Jason’s had with girls, you can understand why I’d be concerned about her.”

“I see your point, but still, they dumped him, not the other way around” Kelly pointed out.

“Excuse me captain” Oni turned around to see the communications officer. “We’re receiving message from HQ, General Atkins wants to speak to you ma’am.”

“Connect him” Oni replied, a few seconds later Atkins face appeared on screen. “What can we do for you Aki?” she asked casually.

“I need to know when your planning to test run those battle suits of yours. We need to train our soldiers on how to use them before Chronos starts up again. So are these battle suits ready or not?” Atkins asked, ignoring the nickname she always called him by.

The battle suits to which he referred to was a project that was second only to the construction of the Triton. Oni had spent three years constructing a whole bunch of prototypes to combat the ever growing amount of Zoanoids that were always being produced, though of course the battle suits would be nothing but tin foil to an Overlord, they would be able to give, at best, a Hyper Zoanoid a run for its money.

“I’ve got two prototype S1S battle suits that can be prepped within, say twenty, thirty minutes, give or take the amount of time it takes to get my work crew together” she shrugged, she would prefer to wait awhile longer but she knew Atkins was right, Chronos could launch a full scaled attack quickly so they were going to need all the fire power they had. “I warn you though, that if the suits don’t work above at least fifty percent, It’ll take me another month or two work out all the bugs, and keep in mind that these are only prototypes.”

“That’s fine, a weapon that doesn’t work, is useless to us” Atkins nodded understandingly.

“As soon as they’re prepped I’ll bring them by the test site to be tested, have your people ready, I don’t like to be kept waiting” she said, and promptly Atkins face disappeared from the screen and Oni sunk back into the chair with a little grin.

“But of course you no qualms with making them then wait half an hour or so right?” Kelly pointed out.

“But of course” she laughed.

Rivenous sat at his desk going over reports as usual, he had dark circles under his eyes and was clearly tired, having been on the constant go for four days straight and was reaching his limit. Without his guyver unit he wasn’t able to go weeks without sleep anymore and the even though he had been reprocessed and now possessed a new more powerful body, it was still nothing compared to when he was merged with the Guyver unit. He could feel it in every part of his body the loss of power and it disturbed him greatly, though not nearly as much as knowing that Oni was now powerful enough to kill him by herself if he ever pissed her off enough.
Suddenly he felt a tugging at the bottom of his pants legs and looked down in confusion and was surprised to find his son at his feet, looking up at him with a cheeky grin. Rivenous bent down and picked him up.

“How did you get in here? You should be asleep mister” Rivenous told him.

“I couldn’t sleep” Zeptha said, though his voice had that sleepy tone to it. “Can I sleep with you and mommy tonight?” he asked.

“I don’t see why not. Come on then” Rivenous said as he put the reports in the desk draw and then got up and left teleported into his and his wife’s bedroom, where Stephanie was spread out all over the huge bed, with the blanket kicked off of her, snoring loudly. This sight caused Rivenous to smile in amusement as he looked back at his son. “That is not what attracted me to your mother just so you know.”

<Rivenous, report to the bridge> came his father’s.

Rivenous sighed tiredly. <Yes father, just give me a few seconds and I’ll be right there. Anything to be concerned about?>

<It might be> Alkanphel simply replied, a grim tone to his voice.

Great, thought Rivenous as put Zeptha in the bed next to his mother and then pulled the blanket up over his wife and child. “You get some sleep now, ok?” Rivenous said to his son who was already drifting off into sleep as his father disappeared and then reappeared on the command bridge next to his father. “What is it father?”

“We just detected this” his father said and gestured to the screen in front of them.

Rivenous looked down at it and narrowed his eyes in confusion. “You got this from inside the ruins? What could have caused it?”

“We’re not sure, but so far this thing hasn’t moved since we detected it. The strange thing is that, it just suddenly appeared, almost as if it teleported, but our sensors didn’t pick up any teleporting readings coming from it and as you know, none of us have been successful in teleporting past whatever’s shielding the ruins, so whatever this thing is its either very powerful or just very lucky in either case though, we should try to find out what it is, and try to get it to join us.”

“And what if it doesn’t want to join us?” Rivenous asked, though he already knew what the answer was going to be, he just felt compelled to ask.

“Well if it poses a potential threat against us, kill it, if not let it be and maybe it’ll change its mind” Alkanphel replied, surprising Rivenous a little as he had expected the simple, destroy it reply from his father.

“This is all based on the assumption that its capable of intelligent thought. For all we know its something the Advents left here as well and it has no idea what its doing. The teleporting could be a reflex action in its mind. Though in all likely hood, its guarding whatever’s in those ruins and should be handled with extreme caution” Rivenous explained calmly. “After I get some sleep I’ll go down to investigate and see if I can’t find away through this shielding, it has to have a weak spot, we just haven’t found it yet. Maybe if we could figure out what kind of field it is that’s being emitted, we could cancel it out with the opposite field wave?”

“An interesting idea, one that might prove effective if we could detect this shield at all” Alkanphel said, almost sarcastically.

“It was just a suggestion” Rivenous said dryly, then promptly turned and left without another word, he was too tired to argue with his father, who he knew was equally frustrated by their discover in the Tibetan mountains. The village they had discovered was home to an ancient temple that was ultimately one big door to underground lair, which they had not been able to open, destroy or teleport past. It had been almost a year since they had discovered the damn thing and still they could not figure out a way in, it was quiet maddening really.

It was a scorching day with the sun beating down on top of the test site, where Atkins stood with the leaders of the United Alliance bases and the people that funded their operations. They had all been waiting for almost half an hour and Oni was still yet to show up, Atkins knew she was just doing this to be a bitch and piss them off, and probably for her own amusement too. Atkins was starting to wonder why they had thought having a test site in the middle of the desert in the first place, there was no shade for them at all and they were all but drowning in their own sweat as it was.

“Where is she Atkins? If we stay out here any longer, we’ll be burnt to a crisp” growled one of the UA leaders.

“She’ll be here” Atkins said, wiping a sheet of sweat from his forehead.

Almost ten minutes later Oni appeared in front of the irritable, hot and sweaty high ranking members of the United Alliance, behind her were the others, including Sean who had come along to see the battle suits in action, which were in the two large metal crates with them, but there were no engineers with them, or scientists, which left Atkins just a little confused on top of frustrated.

“Nice of you to show up” Atkins said grudgingly.

“Sorry, I went for a quick dip in the ocean and lost track of time” she said innocently enough, but the thought of the nice cool water just made Atkins growl even deeper, but then suddenly she disappeared again, only to reappear a few minutes later with collection of fully erected tables and chairs with shade to hide them from the intense heat, she had even been kind enough to provide various drinks and snacks. “Just sit back and relax as you watch these babies in action” she told them instantly before going over to set up the battle suits.

Kelly walked up to her sister and whispered. “Nice touch with the drinks and snacks, I wasn’t expecting that.”

“Yeah, I thought I would reward them for actually staying around and surviving this heat, I have to give them points for that at least” she said with a laugh as she pushed a button on one of the metal crates, causing it to open up with a hiss. Inside was a five foot seven tall battle suit waiting to be used. Carefully she removed the two battle suits and placed them alongside each other in front of the United Alliance leaders. “This is the SIS Battle Suit, or Striker suit as I like to call it. With this suit we’ll be able to finally counter Chronos’s ever increasing zoanoid army. The suits are equipped with two hands gun, a mini chain gun on the right shoulder, two monomolecular cutters carried on the forearms and a monomolecular dagger in the left hip. These bladed weapons aren’t as good as the vibrational swords of a guyver, but they’ll get the job done just as good” Oni explained.

“What kind of zoanoids will a soldier be capable of fighting in one of those? Will the weight of the suit slow him down?” asked one of the United Alliance commanders, a middle aged woman who looked like she had never had any excitement in her life at all.

“A soldier wearing this suit will be able to over power a Gregore type Zoanoid, keep up with a Thrancus Hyper Zoanoid type and the fire power alone should make a Neo Hyper Zoanoid at least a little wary of them. And the weight of the suit won’t be a problem, despite its extreme durability, the suit is incredibly light and allows the suit pilot to move great speeds, using the back thrusters the pilot would be able to keep up with a normal guyver running at top speed. To top it all off, the suit even has a deflector shield which we have tested at being able to take ten direct hits from a standard guyver head laser, after that however the shield will be disable for around half an hour while it recharges” Oni answered, causing the United Alliance commanders and financers to mutter amongst themselves.

“What does it run off?” asked the President.

Oni faltered a little, and tried to think of the best way to tell them. “Well actually, I’m not entirely sure what kind of power source it is. The reason I don’t know exactly what this power source is, is because only a small fraction of all this knowledge that’s floating around in my head was unlocked, so the parts that explain what this power source is, is still in amongst parthe knowledge locked in my mind. All I know is that, however I managed to harness it, I manage to do it safely as the Triton runs off the same power source and hasn’t blown up yet.”

“Gee, that’s reassuring” Trey muttered dryly.

“Quiet you!” Oni hissed at him and then recomposed herself with a smile. “Anyway, these are the first generation battle suits I promise you and despite the unknown origins of the Power Source, which I’m looking into mind you, they are perfectly safe.”

“Why don’t we give them a test run?” Atkins suggested.

Oni shrugged in agreement and turned to start preparing the battle suits, but as she did, something flickered through mind, like a danger alert. She looked up and turned around to stare off into the distance, the flicker was powerful even if was only for a brief second, she felt something pull her in the location she was looking off at, then she looked over to Anthony who slowly turned to face her and nodded silently.
Something wasn’t right.

“Kelly, prep the suits, me and Anthony need to check something out” Oni said seriously before rising into the air and activating her unit, Anthony following suit and then the two of them flew off before anyone could say anything.

<Got any clue what that was?> Shadow Guyver asked her.

<No, it was weird though, it wasn’t like anything I’ve ever felt before> she replied thoughtfully, then looked straight ahead of her and realized something as she put two and two together. <Hey, Anthony. Do you realize, that if we keep going this way, we’ll eventually end up in Tibet?> she asked, a curious smile forming under her armor.

They were in fact on a straight course for Tibet, and while they were flying at a steady pace, they were soon flying over the ocean, Oni knew they would be there in no time at all and wondered what was waiting there. They only knew that Chronos has found a hidden village, possibly a Temple of Tibetan Monks, the mountain was rampant with ruins of ancient temples and was home to a few still operational ones to. While they didn’t know exactly what Chronos had found it wasn’t hard to imagine many different things, none of which sat well with her, they could have found another Guyver unit, possibly another one like Athena’s, and if that was true and it was given to a Zoalord to merge with, they would be back to square one again. At the bottom of the food chain.

<I think we’re almost there> Shadow Guyver said suddenly.

Oni snapped out of thoughts and pushed her worries aside as she looked up and saw that they were passing over lush jungles, the in habitants of which had her head sensors going off the chart. Sometimes she hated having such advance sensory preceptors. She was picking up every little bit of movement beneath the trees, monkeys, bugs, lizards, bats.

<India> she said calmly.

It wasn’t long before they were at the mountains of Tibet, flying through the deep cannons and then up over the top of it again to keep an eye out for any temples. The mountains of white almost took Oni’s breath away she thought they were that beautiful, but didn’t compare to the beauty of the ocean.
For almost and hour they flew around and without luck, having scanned as much area as possible with their sensors, they split up a couple of times to cover even more ground but they still hadn’t found anything. Oni thought that if Chronos had found anything up here they would at least have a squad of Hyper or Neo Hyper Zoanoids guarding it. She hovered high above the mountains, staring down at them with a frown, something wasn’t right here, she should’ve been able to sense something at least, but there wasn’t a single life.
That’s when it struck her.

“Hey Anthony, what if we’ve been searching for the wrong thing” she asked him as she hovered next to him.

“What do you mean?” he asked, sounding a little confused.

“Well, we came here expecting to be able to find them quickly and easily with our sensors, but what if, there’s some kind of shield blocking our sensors?” she said thoughtfully.

“Something Chronos cooked up you think?” he replied.

“Most likely, they did manage to create that Zcorpius thing with the ability to mess with a normal Guyver’s head sensors, but what if, whatever they found is the cause? They may’ve found something like that thing in the Japan Mountains and its shielding is designed to keep someone from scanning for life forms” she suggested.

“That’s pretty fucking thin” he pointed out calmly.

“Hell, thin is my middle name” she replied.

“Yeah, and with your cooking I’m not surprised” he joked.

“See if you ever get invited to a social dinner again, you know I only invited you as to a sign of peace between us and besides, you and the others didn’t complain when you were eating it!” she said defensively and folded her arms.

“That’s because we’re all scarred of you” he said dryly. “So what do we now, I don’t particularly feel like spending all day searching for something that could be nothing.”

“For once I have to agree with you. We’ll go back to the test site and then we’ll check satellite imaging later to see if there was anything over this area” she replied.

“Yeah, well if you don’t mind I think I might head back to the Triton, do some meditating or something” he told her.

“Whatever, we’ll see you later” she nodded, she didn’t really care either way if he was there to witness the test or not, she hadn’t even invited him to watch in the first place. She watched as he teleported away, but hovered there for a moment longer, thinking sourly to herself. “My cooking isn’t bad!”

* * *

Little did they realize though, not to far away, but just outside the range of their sensors, a sphere of dark energy like that of a pressure cannon, only bigger appeared at the peak of a mountain, energy crackling around it. But this build of energy didn’t register on any sensors set up by Chronos and it didn’t reach Oni or Anthony either, not that either of them would know what it was. It was an energy type they had never encountered yet.

The sphere expanded tremendously and then suddenly popped like a soap bubble, but residual energy crackled off the mountain peak beneath it and through the air, and more importantly, off the figure floating in the air curled up in a fertile position. Its big dark green wings folded around it. When the wings unfolded they revealed a dark green armored male guyver with black trimmings, its Control Medal growing brightly, followed closely by its eyes glowing an unearthly green as the host started to come around. He looked at its hands and arms in slight confusion and then around at his surroundings.

“How did I get here?” he said out loud to himself, then he realized a better question. “Where is here anyway?”

It was at that point that he suddenly felt something, two something edge its way on to his sensory grid and without meaning to, he flapped his wings and flew straight down into the canyon below him. He would wait and see what they were first before he did anything else, besides he could feel something else in the mountains that was strange, it was almost making it hard for him to use his sensory, which he realize got worse as he flew down further. He just hoped that whatever these things were, that they were having the same problem and he wasn’t too keen on the idea of fighting just yet as it was, he hadn’t gotten use to his unit yet and still had to learn what it could do first before he fought with it.

He wasn’t waiting long, soon two guyvers went speeding by, though with his sensors he could see them clearly, every detail of their body. Completely black unit and a crimson one that was like his own.

“She’s, like me, she’s got the same type of unit as mine” he frowned under his armor.

He was tempted to chase after them, but his better judgment told him to wait, he needed to adjust to the unit first before he fought anyone. So he looked down at the darkness in the canyon below, this place would do nicely for some training, he thought and with that he descended into the dark unknown below.

The next day, Cory and Sakura stood around in what would be their bridesmaid dresses, while Kelly stood on a platform wearing the wedding dress she had decided on with a woman working around her to adjust it to fit her more comfortably.

“So you went all that way for nothing?” Kelly asked out loud, looking towards the dressing room door that her sister was in.

“Well, I wouldn’t say it was for nothing” Oni replied calmly. “We couldn’t detect anything with our sensors so that tells us a few things and lets us be prepared if the need to fight a battle in that area becomes necessary. If Chronos have found some kind of technology that lets them cloak their forces from even mine and Anthony’s sensors, then we’re in big trouble. So like I said it wasn’t a total lost.”

“Oni, just admit it, you wasted time” Kelly said dryly.

“Shut up” her sister grumbled loudly. “You know, you should be worried if I’m right about this, me, Anthony and Jason can’t be every where at once you know. Even we have our limits to how much we can do at one time.”

The whole time she was saying this Kelly made motions with her mouth as she rolled her eyes at her sister. “Nope, I have nothing to worry about, because everything is perfect in my life. Even if I am a key player in the survival of our species” she said, stopping herself to think for a second, then she noticed the dress maker looking at her an arched eye brow. “Oh don’t worry, we’ll win” Kelly assured her nervously.

“Do you really think it could be that bad Oni?” Cory asked, sounding a little frightened, for Sean of course.

“Yeah, but whatever it is that they’ve found, I’ll just find it and destroy it I guess, its what I do after all” Oni replied. “Seeing as I’m no good at cooking” they suddenly heard her mumble, causing them all to exchange puzzled looks.

“Enough talking about surviving, come out and show us how the dress looks on you” Kelly said, electing an amused smile form Cory and Sakura.

“Fuck you Kelly, I’m not coming out” Oni hissed. “If you expect me to wear this thing the day of your wedding you can forget it, I’ll be wearing my normal clothes!”

“If you even attempt to come to my wedding dressed like that, I’ll make you regret you very existence” Kelly growled.

“I already do regret my existence” Oni called back through the door.

“There are worse things then death, dear sister, and I’ll make you regret ever crossing me! Now stop being an idiot and open the god damn door, or would you prefer I go and get Anthony to kick the door down for me?” Kelly threatened.

“Fine!” Oni replied rather quickly, much to Cory and Sakura’s confusion, but they decided not to push the subject. Slowly the door handle turn and with a click the door started to come open, until it revealed Oni standing their in a light pink bridesmaid dress, her cheeks blushing scarlet in anger and embarrassment, she’d almost rather kill herself at this point then endure much more of this humiliation.. However she was unaware that even without make up or her hair being done up that she looked incredibly beautiful in the dress, a fact that had Kelly almost seething with jealousy, she was even starting to reconsider having Oni as her bridesmaid in fear of having all the attention taken away from her. Oni started to feel a little uncomfortable with the four women staring at her. “Ok, you’ve seen what it looks like, now I’m changing back into my normal clothes and going back to the Triton!” she said in exasperation.

“Oh I think you look just beautiful” came a sudden and unexpected voice. Oni looked past the four women and saw Stephanie appear across the room, wearing her Zoalord cloak and casual clothes beneath it. Still, Oni didn’t really take notice of the cloak as she just about bounded across the room to give Stephanie a hug. It had been almost four years since they had last seen each other and she had started to worry something had happened to her.

“Stephanie, how have you been? Where have you been? I was starting to think you had fallen of the face of the Earth” Oni said all in one breath as she let go of her friend, she couldn’t contain her excitement and completely forgot about the dress she was wearing.

Stephanie just smiled. “That mainly my fault, being fourth in command of Chronos and a mother isn’t easy work” she said a little amusedly. “I finally managed to get some time to myself and thought I would come and see you and Kelly. And what do I find, you playing dress up, not something I ever expected to see you doing. And its pink too”

Oni suddenly remember she was wearing dress and she blushed madly. “If you tell Rivenous about this I swear I make you pay” she warned as she saw that playful glint in Stephanie’s eyes.

“Would I do that?” Stephanie asked.

“Yes, and you know it!” she accused.

Fifteen minutes later, Oni and Stephanie teleported to a park, Oni now back in her normal clothes and Stephanie having lost the Zoalord cloak, and Zeptha, Creb and Tora were with them, though as soon as they appeared in the park, the three children ran off to play, under strict orders from their mothers not to use any of the minor abilities they had so far displayed, though nothing dangerous it would still be enough to freak other kids and their parents out.

“So how have you been?” Stephanie asked as she and Oni sat down on a spare park bench, looking like your normal, typical mothers.

“Same old” Oni shrugged casually. “Being a super genius keeps one busy you know. Creating super computers and stuff for the military can take up a lot of your time when you have nothing else better to do. And looking after twins too. Shit, even you guys haven’t been able to give me this much of a challenge” she said with a small laugh.

“You probably don’t see us as much of a threat any more now that Rivenous isn’t the Guyver Zoalord right?” her friend replied calmly. “If you wanted to, you and Anthony could probably destroy us all in one day right? Then why don’t you?”

“Because then we would be no better then you husband or father in law” she said bluntly. She was quiet then for a few seconds before she added. “Yeah, we could end this war quickly with a bloody battle that will leave countless dead. Anthony and I can do a lot of damage, but we still have our limits and the use of extra troops aside from the other guyvers would be needed. As it is we lose more soldiers then we should every time we’ve fought you guys. If we set about the destruction of Chronos with the intention of destroying it in one day, then we would most likely lose so many lives that the whole point of freeing the human race from the control of Chronos would be meaningless. Don’t get me wrong, my desire to kill Alkanphel and more specifically your husband is just as strong as it was six years ago, the only problem is… I’m not sure if my revenge is worth losing your friendship over. I’ve already broken my promise to Alex to kill Anthony for what he did, I guess it doesn’t matter if I brake my promise to my parents to kill Rivenous, I’ll be going to hell when I die anyway.”

“You know I would never ask you to give up something you believe in, you know that” Stephanie replied quietly, then sighed sadly. “We have a pretty screwed up friendship if you ask me.”

“Don’t worry about it Stephanie. Despite what I say, I’m not sure if I even believe I want revenge anymore. Before Creb and Tora came along, sure I would love to have killed Rivenous, the only thing stopping me was hurting you in the process because even though I didn’t want to believe it, you really love him, just like I did Alex. But then, when I had Creb and Tora, I realized that I had more important things to worry about then getting my revenge. I have two kids to look after, the death of two jerks isn’t high on my list priority’s anymore, so unless your husband does something to really piss me off, like trying to make a hit on one of my children, which even I don’t think he’s capable of, then you have nothing to worry about” Oni replied, watching Creb and Tora playing on the playground equipment. “Besides, I don’t think I could deprive that kid of yours of having a father, unless of course he ever hurts you, then there’ll be nothing that will get between me killing him” she added seriously.

Stephanie just laughed slightly. “Still as protective as ever I see? I think that was one of things I liked about you. Willing to protect your friends and family at any cost.”

Oni shrugged. “Gave me a reason to live I suppose and became a habit. Just wish I had been able to protect Alex, and my parents, but I guess it was a lesson I had to learn, a harsh one, but a lesson nevertheless. I can’t protect everyone.”

“That’s a pretty cold way of looking at it” Stephanie frowned.

“Yeah, it is, but it helps me get up everyday and get my job done. Anyway, enough with the angst as I’m sure you didn’t come to talk about the destruction of Chronos or my own personal demons. So anything else you want to talk about?” Oni asked.

They went silent for awhile, just sitting there and staring after their children as they watched them play, things almost seem to be normal, well, to a certain degree. They could both appreciate the feeling of just being able to sit back and not think about the war or the fact that were each on the opposite side of it and should technically be trying to kill each other.

“So you got anything special happening?” Stephanie asked carefully.

“If your looking for me to reveal what weapons I’ve cooked up for the U.A. I’m afraid I can’t reveal anything about them. Classified you know. Its not that I don’t trust you, I just don’t trust those other bastards you work for” Oni replied calmly.

“That’s ok, I wasn’t asking about weaponry, after all the precautions you went to ensure that none of our spies were amongst your people I didn’t expect you to so easily give me any information on weapons” Stephanie assured her.

“Well, if you want to know, I’ve started a new project the other week” Oni said after a few seconds of silence. “I call it, Project Aqua.”

“Project Aqua huh? What is it?” Stephanie asked, her curiosity peeked.

“It, is a huge, underwater station that is going to be built as far down as possible. Its going to be a learning institute for marine biology and double of as a refugee colony. Aqua City as I will name it, is huge, and will be another step in human exploration as we still don’t know everything about what’s in our ocean. Space is huge and untapped, we know that these Creators are out there some where but I still don’t think that the human race is ready for that step. We can wait to see what’s beyond our star system, but I think the ocean is much more interesting” she explained.

“Well, you always did like the ocean” Stephanie nodded.

“Yeah, I just want to use my super knowledge for something else other then creating weapons of war, that’s all” she shrugged, brushing a lock of hair out of her eyes, suddenly though Stephanie started laughing, causing Oni to frown. “What’s so funny?”

“I just can’t get the image of you wearing a bridesmaid dress out of my head” Stephanie giggled.

Oni blushed madly and grumbled sourly. “Its not like I had a choice. Kelly forced me to!”

“Please, tell me how she ‘forced’ you to put on a dress? I mean what could she possibly have on you that would get you to put on a pink dress that your eventually going to have to wear in front of more then a handful of people if she wants you to be her bridesmaid” Stephanie asked, unable to contain the amusement in her voice while Oni just clenched her fists more with her head hung and her face going even redder.. She looked like a child with their hand caught in the cookie jar.

“Its nothing really” Oni said in almost strangled voice, trying unsuccessfully to contain her embarrassment.

“Oh come on now, we’ve never had any secrets from each other, besides, its not like I have anyone to tell your personal secrets to” Stephanie insisted.

Oni was silent a little longer, then she groaned a little miserably. “After I had had Creb and Tora, I was confused and lost, I didn’t really know what I was to do, I felt like my life had spun out of my control and it had. I was really depressed and almost ready to give it all up. I didn’t want to fight anymore, didn’t think I could fight anymore. On top of this, I was drinking, far more then any normal human could consume without killing themselves. Anyway, Anthony came and saw me, and to cut a long story shut he helped me see that I really did want to keep Creb and Tora” she explained.

“What, that’s it?” Stephanie asked with a frown of confusion and perhaps a little disappointment.

“No, not exactly” Oni replied in a quiet voice.

Stephanie looked at her closely trying to get the answer from her face when all of a sudden the answer popped into her mind, causing her to gasp a little loudly. “Oh my god you didn’t? You slept with Anthony?” she asked in disbelief, Oni just nodded and Stephanie sat backwards, still with a look of disbelief on her face, the she smiled ever so slightly. “I’ve heard of love hate relationships before, but Oni, this is ridiculous. Of all the guys you chose him to sleep with?”

Oni looked up quickly to defend herself. “I didn’t know what I was doing! If I had been sober I would have killed the asshole!” she said quickly. “And I didn’t chose him! It was an emotional moment and one thing let to another” added a little quietly with a touch of embarrassment.

“Oh, that’s a great explanation” Stephanie said in amusement.

“Stop teasing me damn it!” Oni cried. “It’s not funny either!”

“Ok, I’ll stop” Stephanie assured her after seeing Oni was really starting to look and sound upset by it all, but she could hide the amused look in her eyes. “You have to see it from my point of view though. The two of you have hated each other for as long as I can remember, the thought of you two having an intimate moment is amusing, sickening, but amusing.”

“Its not amusing, it was the worst moment of my life” Oni replied sourly.

“That’s funny, some of the girls I knew before I joined Chronos seemed to think Anthony was great in bed” Stephanie said, unable to help herself.

“Stop it!!” Oni demanded.

AN: And here is the rest of part 1

* * *

Rivenous calmly appeared within the temple, while monks went about their business, unaware of the evil they so willingly let into their temple, not that they would have been able to stop them. Maybe they sensed they weren’t strong enough and simply did not see the point in causing unnecessary deaths amongst there own. Whatever it was, they seemingly welcomed the forces of Chronos, Rivenous theorized that perhaps they thought they were gods or something.

“Mantis” Rivenous said as he walked up to one of his generals, causing the Elite Overlord to turn around. “Have you made any progress?”

Mantis let out a tired sigh. “No my Lord, this shield is for the better lack of words, impenetrable. I haven’t been able to figure out a single way to open it. Its very frustrating.”

“Go get some rest then, you’ve earned it” Rivenous said calmly.

“Thank you my Lord” Mantis replied and disappeared.

Rivenous walked to the door that had the force field protecting it, they had set up many computer systems to try analyze the readings coming from it, but it was unlike anything they had ever seen before. He reached out with his hand carefully touched the door, the field flaring up in a violet color as his hand touched the previously invisible field, then in irritation he slammed his fist forward with all his strength only to have it stopped instantly with a sickening crack, the bones in his arm shattering and healing all in the space of a couple of seconds.

“Get the leader of this temple in here right now” Rivenous ordered in a cold and uncaring voice, not removing his eyes once from the door that had started to haunt his dreams, almost seeming to taunt him.

Minutes later a Chronos Grunt returned with the Master of the Temple, a very old looking man, his face was all wrinkled and his eye brows were almost white, and there was also a younger man with them. Rivenous looked at the Grunt with a questioning look.

“I said to bring the old man, so who is the kid?” he asked calmly.

“He said he is this man’s great grandson, he said his great grandfather can be hard to understand at times and thought that he would be able to by translating what the old man was saying” the Grunt explained.

“Fine” the zoalord replied, of course he had no need for a interpreter, he could easily read the old mans mind. Rivenous turned to the old man and asked. “Do you know any way at all, of opening this door?”

The old man was silent for a few seconds, seemingly studying Rivenous’s eyes, causing the Zoalord to give him an impatient look. With what sounded like a small sigh, the old man started talking and the younger man hadn’t been kidding, he was extremely hard to understand as he seemed to mumble more then form any proper words.

Finally the younger man turned to Rivenous. “He said this door has not been opened in over three thousand years, since our descendants were brought to this temple. He said there is only one person who can open the door and receive the divine gift that lays beyond it.”

“Oh really, and who is this person suppose to be?” Rivenous asked, he found it almost amusing to rely on another to interpret what another was saying.

The old man proceeded to stare straight at Rivenous eyes that seemed to look straight into his very soul and smiled, almost startling Rivenous. He spoke and his great grandson listened carefully and then confirmed what the old man had said in a voice that almost trembled, before turning back to the son of Chronos.

“My great grandfather says the only one who can open it is the one whose wings cast the crimson shadow over your armies and sets alight the field of battle with silver fire, the one who desires your destruction” the young man said.

Rivenous’s eyes widened, almost in alarm, mostly in shock. He took a few steps backwards while staring at the old man who hadn’t taken his eyes away once. “Her? Your saying that person who can open this door, is Oni?!” he demanded as his rage took a hold of him, but the old man just simply nodded. If this was true he knew he was never going to get her to open it for them, he couldn’t even let her know about it or she would take it for herself, and there would be nothing any of them could do to stop her either. Then he realized something. “Unless…………”

* * *

Shadow Guyver was flying about the Tibetan Mountains again, still convinced that there was something here worth checking out ASAP, the feeling of impending danger was just too strong for him too ignore, and there was something else too, something he couldn’t quiet place his finger on but whatever it was, it drew him to the mountain region. He knew Oni felt the same thing, but she was either devoid of worry and confidant enough to fight against whatever it was or she was she oblivious to how serious this might be.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a bit of both” he thought dryly. As he was floating there he suddenly got the sense that someone was watching him, so he scanned out with his sensors, scanning the sides of the mountains and the deep crevices as far as he could. Then he saw it, hidden amongst a rock cropping, a guyver that had his sensors sending danger signals into his brain. So on impulse he gathered a Pressure Cannon in two cupped hands and fired it in the direction, sending a shower of snow and ice into the air. “Got yah” he said.

“Bullshit” Shadow Guyver spun around in shock as the guyver appeared behind him and was greeted with a powerful fist to his face, the force of the punch sending him flying backwards in to the side of the mountain he had just made a sizeable crater in.

Shadow Guyver wasn’t really affected all that much by the punch or the impact with the mountain, but it had surprised him, though not as much as actually seeing what this new Guyver looked like. Dark green all over with black trims, but coming from the outer edges of the chest plates were what looked like black veins almost. But what was most surprising were the huge dark green wings and the fact that it looked very much like an Oni unit.

“Who are you?!” Shadow Guyver demanded.

“I am the one who fell from the graces of heaven into the grips of hell” the new guyver hissed at him. “I am, Fallen.”

“Oh gee, that’s real original, they call me Shadow Guyver, and I need no introduction” he replied, preparing to fight.

“Shadow Guyver?” Fallen said in a low and dangerous voice. “I’m going to take pleasure in ripping your Control Medal out!”

Both Guyver’s flew each other, extending their swords and slammed into each other in mid air, before they started to punch and kick at one another. Fallen was quickly gaining the upper hand with faster and more powerful blow, pushing Shadow Guyver back towards the mountain, but the black armored guyver was far from beat, he was willing to go out on a limb and guess that if this Fallen was an Oni Guyver type, then it wouldn’t have unlimited bio reserves and would need to rest eventually.

Shadow Guyver smashed his fist forward into Fallen’s gut with his sword exploding out the other end in a shower of blood and guts, the wound instantly trying to close around the sword but as long as it was there it wasn’t going to heal one bit. Using all his strength, Shadow Guyver turned around and dived towards the ground at high speed with Fallen trying to pull himself off the blade, constantly punching Shadow Guyver in the face but always missing the Control Medal as the guyver would move his just an inch out of the way.

But then, just before they slammed into the ground, Fallen disappeared and it was too late for Shadow Guyver to pull out and he smashed into the ground at full speed, sending an explosion of snow and ice upward as he smashed through the ground and into an ice cavern. He lied there for a moment in a dazed state, he knew he should have seen that one coming, there was no way you suddenly just forget how to teleport, even in the face of danger it was easy to teleport out of the was as easily as Fallen had.

<Hey Oni, I might need your help, I’m in the Tibetan mountains> he called telepathically.

<Oh come on, I’m chilling with Stephanie, whatever it is I’m sure you can handle it yourself> she replied in annoyance.

<Yeah, under normal circumstances I would agree with you, but I’m fighting a guyver that is at least as strong as us and what’s more, I think he’s got an Oni unit> he said calmly.

<What?! Hang on, I’ll be there in a minute> she replied quickly.

<Take your time> he said dryly.

Standing up he looked around and saw huge cavern filled with ice, and then looked down over the ledge of ice he was standing on, and into an inky blackness that was even deeper then his scanners could go. He almost laughed, it could be a classic bottomless pit for all he knew and it wouldn’t matter how far his sensors went. But they did pick up something and jumped out of the way as Fallen came screaming down through the hole in the ground and tried to kick him, only to obliterate the ledge Shadow Guyver had been standing on and almost falling into the crevice.

“You got some power in you” Shadow Guyver acknowledged.

“More then you’ll ever know” Fallen replied, hovering in mid air.

“Get a new line pal” Fallen spun around just as Oni appeared and kicked him across the face, sending him flying into the side of the cavern wall and embedding him there. Oni shot forward and started laying into him with power punches until the cavern started to shake and chunks of ice fell from the ceiling. Finally she flew backwards and looked over to Shadow Guyver while gesturing at Fallen. “Was that so fucking hard?!” she demanded. “I was having a nice relaxing day with a very good friend and you interrupt me for this?! You could’ve taken care of this guy for Christ sakes!”

“I’m not done yet little girl” Fallen growled and then disappeared, only to shoot up from below her without warning and smashed her upward through the ceiling of the ice cavern. He appeared above her and threw a pressure cannon at her, which she skillfully avoided, teleporting behind him and delivering her own to his back and blowing a large hole through him. Then before he had time to react she executed to upward slashes and removed his wings which fell down through the hole in the ground. “You little bitch!” Fallen snarl as he dropped out of the air, the lost of his wings forcing him to rely heavily on his gravity orb to keep him up.

“That’s no way to talk to a lady” she said in a creepily innocent voice.

She dove at him and started punching at him again while he struggled to avoid her but always moved straight into her punch, finally though he swallowed his pride and teleported away from her, landing on the side of a mountain and gathering a big pressure cannon in his hands. It grew until it was much bigger then a basket ball and then he fired it forward with shocking speed. Oni let out a startled scream and covered her control medal just before it hit her, exploding on impact and sending her flying into the ground in a heap. Her arms were missing and a sizable chunk of her body was also missing in action, almost all of her left side had disappeared in the blast. Shadow Guyver’s anger grew when he saw this and turned back to Fallen.

“Your going to pay for that asshole” he snarled.

“What are you pissed I hurt your little girlfriend?” Fallen asked in a sarcastic tone.

Suddenly, Oni’s body flew up into the air and glowed with an angry silver aura, parts of her body quickly growing back, already most of the top half of her left arm had grown back and was now more of a stump.

“Don’t ever, insinuate that we’re a couple!!” she roared and attacked Fallen with her right arm, the hidden sword in her wrist sliding out and slashing across Fallen’s face and cutting a line across his eyes. He howled in pain and grabbed his face as he backed away.

“How the hell are you still moving!” Shadow Guyver asked in surprise.

“Rage is a perfect motivator!” she snapped.

Fallen suddenly barged into her and crash tackled her to the ground and started laying into her already mutilated form in a furious rage and would have continued had Shadow Guyver grabbed him from behind and teleported away with him to give Oni time to heal the damage. This time they reappeared across the ocean far away, struggling with each other before finally Shadow Guyver let go of him and they put some distance between each other.

“Don’t make us call in our friends, give up!” Shadow Guyver ordered him. “Though because you work for Chronos I highly doubt you will!” he added with a hiss.

Fallen’s head looked up with slight surprise. “Wait a minute. I’m not with Chronos, I’ve always fought against them.”

“Then why attack us if you’re not with Chronos!” Shadow Guyver demanded in anger, not knowing whether or not to trust him..

“Because I thought you and the broad were working for Chronos. With that little out post of theirs not to far away from where we were just fighting it was more then likely!” Fallen snapped.

“Ok then, who the hell are you and why haven’t you made yourself known to the United Alliance yet? We need all the warriors we can get in the fight against Chronos! Why hide?!” Shadow Guyver said.

“The United Alliance knows about me, its known about me for a good two years. Its you and that chick I’ve never seen before, where have you two been hiding? Shacked up somewhere together I bet” Fallen smirked under his armor, before he was suddenly send flying forward as something smashed into his back. He flipped through the air before he managed to get control of himself, stopping himself next to Shadow Guyver as he turned around, only to face with a fully regenerated Oni Guyver, whose silver aura was burning even brighter and angrier around her as she hovered there.

“That’s it you son of a bitch! I warned you and now you’re going to fucking die!” she screamed.

“Oh crap. No, Oni wait” Shadow Guyver flew in front of her, realizing as he did that it probably wouldn’t stop her from blasting a hole straight through him. “Listen to me before you blow him away, he isn’t working for Chronos, he thought we so if you destroy him, you lose us someone who will help in the war against them. Plus he claims the United Alliance has known about him for two years, at least keep him alive until we can get confirmation from Atkins.”

She looked back at Fallen and growled. “Alright, but if makes one more remark about us being together, I’ll rip his control medal out and throw it in a volcano!” she snarled at him, then turned to look at Fallen. “What’s your name shit head?!”

If the armor hadn’t been on, she would have seen Fallen’s annoyed look, but he swallowed the annoyance and calmly replied. “I’m Rune Daniels.”

“WHAT?!” both Oni and Shadow Guyver said together.

* * *

Fifteen minutes later, with all the Guyver’s assembled in the meeting room aboard the Triton, the one that called himself Rune Daniels, was seated at one end of the table with everyone staring at him in amazement, except for Oni, who stared at him in absolute horror. The resemblance was uncanny, he looked exactly how she remembered herself before merging with the Oni Unit. But he sat there not understanding what the big deal was, or why everyone looked a little tense and weary, even Agito looked a little unsure and unnerved by him, not that Rune really minded that part.

“Ok, so what’s the big deal, why do you all look so shocked to see me, and where the hell, did Atkins have this thing stored away?” he asked, gesturing to the Triton at the last part, but the other’s just looked at him in silence.

Kelly eventually turned to face Oni. “Can you run a DNA trace to see if he really is who he says he is?”

“Kelly?!” Rune said in shock and almost horror.

“I could but, if he’s a clone created by Chronos then he’ll have the exact DNA, it wouldn’t matter if I did the trace or not. If it came back as positive, then we wouldn’t know if he’s clone or not” Oni said quietly, deep in thought, thoughts which weren’t about confirming this Rune’s identity.

“What the hell are you talking about, and who is she god damn it?!” Rune demanded angrily, slamming his hand down hard enough on the table to dent it. Oni was slightly glad she had all the tables bolted down to the floor. Rune then glared at both Kelly and Jason. “Can’t you trust your own brother anymore?!”

“No we can’t!” Kelly snapped at him. “We don’t know if you’re a clone sent by Chronos or not, and if your not then we don’t have the faintest idea how you could possibly exist. So tell us, where have you been if your not a clone sent by our enemy?!”

“Have you lost it Kelly?!” Rune shouted. “Don’t you remember what happened yesterday? I was dying from that poison that Zcorpius injected in me and then that new unit merged with me. I know I went into self defense mode of something, and that I must have had my Control Medal ripped out, but for some reason, I was regenerated back in the Tibetan mountains. I thought I would take a day to get use to my Guyver and all that, if I knew you had all been this worried about me I would have went straight home!”

“Leave us” Oni said suddenly, in a cold and dark voice.

“I don’t think that’s really a good idea Oni” Anthony said, Kelly nodding in agreement.

“GET THE FUCK OUT!” Oni screamed at all of them in anger, startling all of them, including Rune. Silently but quickly the others left the room one by one, hazarding a glance back at Rune and Oni as they sat at either ends of the table, staring coldly into each other’s eyes.

“Ok, so how do you fit into all this?” Rune asked her.

“If you are a Chronos clone I will make it quick, but if your something Ailill cooked up before I killed him, I will make you wither in agony before I finish you off. Now answer me! Who are you working for?!” she demanded.

“I have no clue what you’re fucking talking about you crazy little bitch” Rune hissed in frustration. “What happened during that last mission to make everyone so fucking whack?” he asked.

“That happened four years ago!” Oni snapped at him. Rune’s eyes widened in shock and confusion again, and for the first time Oni saw the lost look in his eyes that she knew all to well, in her mind, a theory started to form that could explain his existence. She took a deep breath and calmed herself. “For now, I will give you the benefit of the doubt, that you at least believe you are who you say you are, but there are something’s you have to know” she said in an almost gentle kind of way.

“Such as?” he asked quietly.

Oni sighed, and got up and went to the end of the table where she sat down next to him, she then started to tell him what happened that day, four years ago. At first he looked at her in total doubt, but as she went on and talked more, his face started to change to one of horror as her words started to sink in. She told him everything that had happened, keeping the more personal things that had happened, such as her night with Anthony a secret. In the end though it all wasn’t enough to totally convince him, and so she shared her memories of the day she became Oni with him and let him see with his own eyes what happened.

Almost half an hour later, Oni walked out of the meeting room, wiping a tear from her eyes and walked off without a single word, when the other’s looked back in the room, they saw the other Rune sitting there with horrified look on his face, his eyes looking watery with tears that threatened to brake at any moment. They could also see him trembling badly, so badly that despite her doubts about him, Kelly couldn’t help but go in and try to at least comfort him as it didn’t take her long to figure out what Oni had told him.

* * *

Oni was sitting on top of the Triton, having had it surface some time ago, she stared at the shimmering image of the moon on the water, her eyes red and sore, and her cheeks stained with dried tears. She sat with her legs drawn under her chin, with thousands of thoughts racing through her mind. She was so preoccupied that she didn’t even hear Jason walk up behind her until he placed a hand on her shoulder and she looked up at him with sad eyes.

“Kelly managed to get the other you calmed down eventually, so I guess I should at least do the same with you. So tell me, what’s wrong” he asked gently as he sat down next to her.

“Am I really me? I mean, am I the true Rune? The original?” she asked quietly. “What if that Rune is the real one? He wasn’t changed by his unit, so what if he’s the original and I’m just a copy?”

“Look, for all we know Oni, this is some sick Chronos joke” he told her.

“Yes, that is a possibility, its even a possibility that he something Ailill cooked up using some of my blood samples, which he could’ve easily got from any one our battle with Chronos. But it doesn’t explain how he can still have an Oni Unit that, except for the color, is exactly like my own” she pointed out. “I ran a test after I finished talking to him.”

“What kind of test?” her brother asked worriedly.

“A simulation” she said. “While I was talking to him I got to thinking that maybe the day that I became the Oni Guyver and had my Control Medal ripped out, there was a flux in fabric of reality which could have separated my male and female genes, creating me, the female Rune, and creating him, the male Rune. If this theory is correct then, there’s no way of telling which one of us is the real deal, we’d be exact duplicates with the one exception of the whole male and female thing.”

“Didn’t you once say that, these flux things are totally random? Well, how can you base a theory on something that your not even sure happened? Its been four years, you wouldn’t be able to tell if there was a flux at that time” he pointed out.

“Yeah, but I put in every bit of information I could remember about that day, including the stuff that Kelly and Anthony told me about when I was SD mode, and the end result was an artificial flux” she explained.

“Then what does it matter? If that’s true then neither of you were created as clones by Chronos and in the long run you get another brother plus we get another warrior in the fight against those assholes. I wouldn’t dwell on things that you have no control over” he told her.

“But if its true one of us is still a copy and we’ll never really know which one of us is, at least not with the level technology we have, even I have my limits. And still, this isn’t ok for me Jason, there was a part of me still clinging to who I was, that reminded me that I was still Rune inside, and now that this Rune is here, I’m no longer who I was. The old me, the me I was before merging with this unit is gone now and forever so where does that leave me?” she asked, renewed tears of confusion and frustrating seeping from her eyes.

“It leaves you where you were before you and Anthony found him. You are still you, no matter what happens. No, you are not Rune anymore but your not nothing either, you are your own person, you are Oni Daniels, the Oni Guyver, mother of two beautiful children, a warrior and a scientist. You are still the same person who still has the same goals she had this morning when she woke up” Jason told her seriously, forcing her to look him in the eyes, then he smiled in amusement. “And besides, even if he is a copy of you, he’s still technically only eighteen years old, making you older then him. When you were a kid, you always said you wished you had a little brother or sister pick on, now you got one.”

Oni couldn’t help but giggle at that one, then stopped and blushed embarrassedly when she realized she was giggling, Jason just laughed a little at her and proceeded to mess her hair up a little before helping her up.

“Come on, lets go inside” he said.

Anthony was walking down one of the many halls of the Triton, thinking about this new turn of events that had transpired that day, although he was more concerned about Oni, he knew it took a lot for her to cry and look like she had when she had left the meeting room. He wanted to go see if she was alright, but she had made it perfectly clear that she was uncomfortable being alone, in small spaces with him and had told him once that if he ever came into her room to do something other then drop off any reports or come and get her for something important, that she would rip both his arms off and beat him to death with them.

“Maybe I could make up some reason for being there and masterfully steer the conversation to the real purpose” he thought silently to himself, then he shook his head, four years ago, sure, it would have worked but she was smarter now and would instantly detect his real reason, which would leave him very armless, that he had was sure of.

Suddenly from out of no where, something slammed Anthony into the wall with shocking force, and knocked the wind out of him for a few seconds, but that was all that was needed, for his attacker to grab him by the throat and lift him up off the floor and slam him into the wall again, though it wasn’t as hard as it was the first time. Anthony focused his eyes and was only slightly shocked to see Rune with a pissed off look.

“What the hell are you doing?!” Anthony demanded angrily, not making a move to try and free himself.

“You may’ve had four years to fool the others and that freak version of me but I know you’re still the same traitorous piece of shit you were six years ago and when you make a mistake, when you finally slip up and show your true colors I will make sure you die a very slow and agonizing death at my hands” Rune hissed, looking straight into Anthony’s glaring eyes. “I want you to remember this moment, the way it could’ve went.”

Finally having enough, Anthony slammed his hand down on Rune’s forearm and there was a sickening crack as the bone shattered, causing Rune to let go of him and stumble backwards in a short cry of pain. Anthony didn’t waste any time and instantly had a shocked Rune against the wall, a small snarl escaping his lips.

“You listen here you arrogant little cunt! I will not take that shit from you any longer you got that! I’ve had four years to master the benefits of my unit, it has made me faster, stronger and better then you. The only one that’s better then me, is that freak version of you as you so nicely put it. If you ever try something like this again, I’m going to make you hurt for days to come, I’ll make you hurt so much, you’ll never forget the kind of pain I can rain down on you and if you ever call Oni a freak again, my wrath will be hundred fold” Anthony snarled in rage, shocking Rune to a stunned silence, Anthony then let him drop to the ground before pushing him against the wall again. “I want you to remember this moment.”

Anthony walked off, leaving Rune standing there in a confused and shocked state, his arm already having healed. He had never expected that kind of reaction from Anthony, it was almost scary. Rune suddenly growled.

“They may have forgiven you! But I never will!” he yelled after Anthony.

Anthony stopped and turned around and glared. “They haven’t forgiven me! They just know that its pointless to keep living in the past you moron!!” he shouted back, and then left, turning down a corridor.

Rune turned around and slammed his fist into the wall, almost punching straight through the thick metal as it bent inward.

“God damn it!” he snarled, rage burning in his eyes. “I will not dishonor your memory Alex.”

Woo Kaiser likes B)

Just a type for writing different characters, though it can be a REALLY big pain in the ass, focus on writing very different syntaxes for each character, give them unqiue speech patterns and a good catch phrase, tho never overdo them. Catch words can be good too, but it also depends on the timing and use of them.

Keep up the great work :beers:

Ahh..... what are.... syntaxes?

And if you like this, then you should read the first Saga, located here

http://www.geocities.com/zeus_thunderbolt2002/index.html

And I'm going to talk to my friends about helping me make my own site, so, hopefully, I might have my own site soon where it will be updated everytime I finish a part.

WarriorZoalord - October 8, 2004 05:09 AM (GMT)
heh, i really should finish reading this, but it seems every time I start getting into it something comes up, I'll finish reading it sometime. Hmm, I wonder if I'll be able to figure out the big things for this part too. O.o Oni AND rune together...... That's something I never saw coming.

Mental note, interrogate Riven B)

As for Wolverine vs Jehuty, I dunno about that, they're both evenly matched :D

Mr Zektoll - October 9, 2004 09:55 PM (GMT)
Well if Jehuty used his unit he would win, because wolverines not quite at guyver streingth as hard core as he is. If they fought without jehuty using his unit its hard to say who would win. Maybe if wolverine got a unit like Jehutys.

Anyway that was a pretty good story. I still think you should come up with a bigger variety of character names though. I mean zeptha and oni are nice names but soon were going to have like 20 of them running around. I used to have alot of characters named Mandingo, but I don't really do that anymore.

Well, this was the first Oni I came up with, she was around long before any of my other Oni's were, and Zeptha doesnt play an awfully big role in the story until much later.

As for Rivenous, I gave him that name because thats another side of Riven, actually this is the first time I've used Rivenous to exact.

What you really need to do is read the story from the beginning

http://www.geocities.com/zeus_thunderbolt2...therfanfic.html

at the link above you will find the first saga of Summit of the Dark Hero's, which explains Oni's orgins, as Warrior Z already knows. I'm also working on the back story of Summit of the Dark Hero's, titled, Dawn of the Dark Hero's, which explains how they all originally got their units.

Yeah, Me and riv talk a lot, Sometimes if I'm nice I can preview the chapters before he puts 'em up, though my skills of deduction are rather scary at times, you should ask him about how I figured out who the kids father was :P

While I didnt figure out evwerything, I did Figure out some of the more key things, and a few of the obscure.

Nah, I knew it had to be that Guy (not going to spoil it for yah who havent read it yet), why else would he be so interested in Oni's health considering shes a zoalord and a guyver, they are almost impossible to get sick.... except in Rivenous's case. though the the thing with the doc surprised me.
