Title: An RPG Question
Description: Why?

Riven - September 14, 2004 05:44 AM (GMT)
Why can't we have a Transformer RPG Bloodstorm?

Like, it doesn't necessarily have to be based on the original if you didn't want to ruin it, rather we could base it on Beast Machines, that way we could make some cooler characters. Already I have an idea for a character.

So why don't we?

Tydorei Belouve - September 14, 2004 08:16 PM (GMT)
My brother use to have alot of transformers and beast wars. He loved that show. What is beast mechines tho?

BloodStorm - September 14, 2004 09:30 PM (GMT)
It's too personal.. but if you've got to know..

G.I. Joe Vs. The Transformers

Worst.. Graphic.. Novel... EVER..
They turned prime into a tank.. a gaddamn COBRA tank.. :weep:

Thank you for forcing me to remember such a tragic moment of my life, and for reopening such a wound on my heart..

Somethings are too sacred to be messed with, and Transformers is one of them. Think of it doing our part to prevent another horrable plot like Energon or Armada... or even the even worse one mentioned above..

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to lay myself in bed under a mountian of old transformers toys and cry myself to sleep. <_<

Riven - September 15, 2004 01:02 AM (GMT)
Hey, i know where your coming from, but, if we base it off Beast Machines, then really, in the end we can only screw up that continuity and we can leave the "sacred" original serise alone, because I agree with you, transformers isn't something to fuck with, but if we all put our heads together, we can avoid coming up with a plot that doesn't screw with the basic lore of the Transformer's universe in general.

That being said now I'll tell you what BM is Ty.

Beast Machines is the continuity of Beast Wars, it ran for two seasons and is based on the adventures of Optimus Primal, Cheetor, Rattrap, Blackaricnia, Silverbolt, and some new Maximals called Nightscream and Botanica.

This serise takes place with Optimus, Cheetor, Rattrap and Blackaricnia waking up back on Cybertron, but with no memory of how they got there. Soon they discover that Megatron managed to escape their capture and has now taken over all of Cybertron and has created a new breed of enemies for the Maximals. The Verhicons, which are more vehicles then anything else.

To combat this new threat, Optimus, and the others are "reformatted" into new bodies that are Techno organic in nature. So now they have new forms, new weapons and new abilities. As the serise progresses, Nightscream, Silverbolt and Botanica come back into it.

The others can feel free to correct any mistakes I made, I only saw a couple of episodes unfortunately.

Astroguyver - September 15, 2004 02:02 PM (GMT)
Well if you stay true to the series there can be a deceint rpg. Im part of one on another site its fun but there are over 20 people playing so its very hard to keep up. I think we can come up with a decient storyline.

Kaiser Dragoon - September 17, 2004 08:32 PM (GMT)
I'm all for adopting a transformer RPG, nothing touching the classics, as mentioned, a possible Maximal, Predicon scrap would be great, like a second beast wars would be awesome :)

BloodStorm - September 17, 2004 08:41 PM (GMT)
Heh.. you guys don't want to "mess with the classics".. then why are you saying you should play beastwars style instead?

I personally think beastwars/beast machines is the WORST spin off series of the original, so it's very existance is "messing with the classics"

Come on... Optimus is a monkey? Please.. <_<

<sigh> atleast the Bat Optimus only existed in a single action figure and mini-comic.. that would be been alot worse..

Beast Wars was great!

Beast Machines, I will admit was horrifically weak though it did have some highlights.

Just to clarify Bloodstorm :P who didn't pass his biology class, Optimus was a BIG monkey, without a tail :P

Biology was accually my best subject in highschool.. it's the only one I got an A in.. not only that, but I was the top of the class...

The sad part comes when you realise that I spent the 3 and a half hours every biology class (it was every other day at nightschool) drawing stupid comics.. <_<

Beast Wars WAS a great serise, I unfortunately missed alot of season three and a far bit of season two, though not because I lost interest, but because my tv stations kept having problems and wouldn't show repeats, the fuckers!

I liked Beast Machines, despite only having seen a couple of episodes, also not my fault.

So Kaiser, or anyone for that matter, what do you think we could use as a storyline to start this bitch?

BloodStorm - September 18, 2004 02:04 AM (GMT)
Supposedly, you COULD.. but two admin have voted against a transformer's rpg.. one of which was myself, and the other being Kris. So Kaiser could only vote against one of us, and if Mr.Z voted against, then we'ld just have a deadlock, and I think we only have four admin.. and in a tie, victory goes to the current holder.

Now if you get Kris to change his vote then You guys could go ahead with it. But I'm not changing my vote. Nor will I participate in the rpg if it is launched.

(Look, I'm a polatitian, I only favor the democratic process when it benafit's me personally! )

Note: All text in parenthasis in this post are the product of NOVA, who is a cynical bastard by far, and takes great joy in poking fun at the inadiquacies of the americal legal and political system.

What if you got final say in the storyline and overall the whole RPG?

IF that was the case, then it would never go anywhere, as I wouldn't have anything to do with it.

Seriously. If you guys play a transformer rpg, I won't touch it. I probobly won't even READ it.

Hell, I've never even read Secret Wars.. but thats just me boycotting Tekno creating a new rpg every other week.

Alright then... You say Beast Wars/Machines was the worst spin off serise?

Well then help us make it a great spin off of Transformers

BloodStorm - September 18, 2004 02:54 AM (GMT)
If I had my way, there would BE no spinoffs... the only good spinoffs bring is action figures.. and even then only a small portion of them are any good..

Like Unicron.. Not only is it one of the most awesome figures I own, it's heavy enough to beat someone's skull in.

Mr Zektoll - September 18, 2004 03:24 AM (GMT)
Hmmm, I'm kind of neutral towards a transformers rpg.

Resons why I'm against

1. Heavent seen much of beast wars
2. As bloodstorm said the spinoffs are all pretty awful at least from what ive seen.

Reasons why I'm for it

1. I could bring back Toastimus Prime from BGC  Toastimus could be Optimus's long lost relitive who looks like a giant toaster for some reason.

2. can't remember reason # 2

and thats why I'm neutral

Sparky - September 18, 2004 08:17 PM (GMT)
I think I'm gonna go neutral the same as Mr Z. I would really love an rpg based on Transformers but I can definitely see BloodStorms point, every spinoff of Transformers minus Beast Wars was just god awful.

So anyway there's my reason but there's no reason you can't have a character based on Transformers to help fill that yearning.

Gall_4185 - September 18, 2004 11:03 PM (GMT)
I only voted against a classic continuity rpg,I'd be willing to allow something that didn't destroy my childhood memories if it was done right

Khzhak - November 10, 2004 06:44 PM (GMT)
Thee's plenty of interest in a Transformers game at Nocturnis.net, at http://www.nocturnis.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=11035 if you want to read it. No interest in running it, just playing it, so if one of you are hell-bent on running it, that's a good place to try.

ChrisOfTheDead - November 11, 2004 12:31 AM (GMT)
As an art mod I must say this. I agree with old man Bloodstorm. A transformers RPG would suck big cahones.

That and I WILL NOT draw Beastwars stuff.
