Saw the movie last night, it was good, in some respects, not so good in others. I'd recommend it for a rental and for those who have got a strong stomach, just because the way its filmed makes the Blair Witch Project look like it was tame.

Well of the three movies I was looking foreward to this winter (the other two were I am legend and AVPR) I've gotta say this was the least dissapointing of the three. Finnally an American made big budget giant monster who doesn't pussy out on us! Dean Devlin and Roland Emerich didn't have Gino smash up the city more because they were afraid it would offend people. Well we don't have to worry about that here. The monster goes all out in this movie. Another thing that was good was that this has gotta be the most realistic giant monster movie I've seen. It about something pretty absurd (a giant monster attacking new york) but its played exactly as if it was real life.

Now it's not perfect, before I saw the movie I ate something kind of funky and all those weird camera angles they kept on doing were making me feel kind of sick. Also it would have been nice if the monster got a little more screen time. Other then that though it was pretty good.

Eh, I was gonna say, that monster...left me fairly disappointed. I was hoping they'd actually do the opposite of what they did in the film and give it very little screen time and emphasize the terror aspect of it. I mean physically, I'm not sure what the heck it was, all I know is I want that guy's job if I can come up with absurd monster designs and get paid for it.

I didnt mind the look of the monster actually

as for the movie itself...it wasn't bad,but it wasn't great either...as Omega said to me the other day, the film is exactly what the trailer shows you, as long as you dont go in expecting anything more or less then that, you should get a kick out of it.

Is it going to get movie of the year? No, not by a long shot, but I think it will go down as a cult classic in coming years

I will admit I am guilty of buying into the hype of the movie, although the trailers don't do it justice with respect to just how crazy the camera actually is for the majority of the movie :P
