Thunderstorm yesterday. Lightning hit outside my window. Computer isn't turning back on. Home modem appears dead as well. All progress on transformer rpg lost, among other things.

Will take computer to a friend of mine who's a professional computer repairman to see if anything can be salvaged.

Expect reports when they come.

Oh boy, do I feel for you man! Lost a computer that way myself a few years back. Went away to visit folks one long weekend and upon returning to the dorm I found my computer completely fried....talking snap, crackle, pop! fried.....

well, if the modems fried, good news, you have to get your ISP to come and install a new one.... then you can have them check the wiring as well <.<

Mother did some looking, the lightning hit the box outside the house.. coming right in through the phoneline, through the modem into the computer.

So.. yeah.. it's allready affected thier hardware.. they're going to want to inspect what's left when they come in to replace the modem and the phone box.

I guess all your bitching about your net connection finally had some higher power descend and do something about it.... or nova did it while you were sleeping, turned the box into a lightning rod <.<
