Title: Regarding a transformer rpg.
Description: Maybe.. juuuuust maybe.

BloodStorm - June 29, 2007 05:23 PM (GMT)
Okay, ladies and gents. Just a heads up.

As of right now, there's a pretty good chance I will be okaying a transformers rpg of some kind in the near future.

It all depends on just how super awesome the movie is. From everything I've seen so far, I'm putting the current chance of seeing this happening at around 90%.

So unless the movie sucks hardcore, you can expect an rpg sometime next week.

This is all.

Riven - June 29, 2007 06:22 PM (GMT)
*Tacks a disclaimer on the end*

This has been a public service announcement from Snacky Cakes, the sure way to get a fat ass in a short time, hmmm yum

Seriously though, yay ^^

*starts making some characters to pick from when the time comes*

Kaiser Dragoon - June 30, 2007 12:52 AM (GMT)
Sounds good, hopefully it will spark some life in the current ones as well B)

BloodStorm - July 4, 2007 08:43 PM (GMT)
Ladies and Gents.. I have seen the movie.. and things do not look good.

.....

....

....

It was SO awesome, I have to get off my ass and make an rpg afterall.
(That's called building suspence, kids.. it'll be on the test.)

Sparky - July 4, 2007 10:39 PM (GMT)
No offence Blood but that post was so long the suspsense was lost and we could pretty much guess what was gonna be said. On the other hand, I call a transformer that turns into a toaster.

BloodStorm - July 4, 2007 10:55 PM (GMT)
Accually.. Z would have dibs on the toaster, since he allready had a transforming toaster in an rpg somewhere. I think it was the bubblegum crisis rpg.

But if he doesn't want to do that, you can have a toaster, no problems there.

Riven - July 4, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
Woot!!! Rock on!!

*starts working on a character*

Are there any limits we should know about?

BloodStorm - July 5, 2007 01:58 AM (GMT)
Allright..

First of all.. Make up your own characters, don't use pre-existing people.. reason for such will be explained when I get the pliot worked out.

Movie style imaging.. Don't like the new looks? Too bad. I think it's pimpsauce.. and if you don't like it, you don't play.. You want in the only transformer rpg aurthorised by the Admin, you use the super awesome new style.

Also.. stats will work based off the official stat system allrready in place for transformers, but I'll make up some of the details because I'm crafty like that.

Strength: A measure of how powerfull your physical blows are.
Intelligence: Overall Smartyness.
Speed: This one should be obvious.
Endurance: A measure of how much punishment you can take.
Rank: Your position in tha chain of command.
Courage: Your cool under fire. Your willingness to do what's needed.
Fireblast: I'MA CHARGIN MAH LAZAR!
Skill: Your ability to avoid damage, plus overall coolness.

These powers will be ranked from 1 to 10.. with rare exceptions reaching 11 in a stat or two.. and those will be at the very least leader class.

Characters will be based on size level.
Drone: Not suitable for PC's.. for the main character atleast. See below for more details.
Scout: Small in stature, but ussually fast. Least amount of total points.
Delux: Average sized transformers.
Voyager: Larger than normal, ussually carrying special firepower the smaller transformers can't even hold due to size reasons.
Leader: Name says it all. Big, Bold, Top of the game. Almost.
Ultra: Biggest of the big. In Robot form they stand out like a sore thumb, but are able to carry more, well, anything, than others.

Leader Class, which will be restricted in number, are allowed ONE stat at 11. Ultraclass (only one in the rpg to start with, and I allready know who gets it, no begging for this spot) are allowed to have strength and endurance both at 11, or one of these two at 12, simply due to the sheeer size involved.

Drones are a special case.. pretty much a smaller extention of your being that you can opperate from a distance for recon or fire support. If you want a drone, you have to spend your character points on them. However, an Ultra class character will NEED to have a drone, as they have more character points than they have room to put them. Also, Ultra class characters can have up to 2 drones if they choose, other size classes can only have 1. Scouts can't carry drones due to size restrictions.

Building a character.
First, choose a vehical for your alternate form.. This will determine what size you fall into. Most road vehicals are Delux.. Bigger vehicals like hummers and other SUV's are Voyagers. Most Military vehicals would be delux class, while passenger gets are large enough to qualify as Leaders, or smallish ultras. With current technology, there are very few land vehicals that can handle "Ultra" class, and not many air vehicals, although there are a few sea vehicals that can do it.

Once you have your vehical, and your size, you will then take the points for that size range and apply yhem to the 8 statistics. You need a minimum of 1 point in every stat.

If you buy a drone, you will get 3 dronepoints for every character point you spend on them. Meaning you will need to spend atleast two points on a drone to get it to reach minumum stats. Drones are not as powerfull as regular transformers, so they have a maximum of 5 points to each stat. Also. for drones, rank is set at 1, I mean c'mon! It's a Fricking DRONE. Who's going to take orders from a damned drone? Not me. Drones can take on the form of a robotic attack animal, or a common household appliance, or something similer.

Changing Alternate forms:

A transformer, if it needs to, can change it's vehical form simply by scanning a new vehical.. Although alternate vehicals have to be in the same size catagory, and you can't scan another transformer to use the same alternate form it does.

Triple Changers? No.. Not at the begining. Maybe later.

I'll be working on the point values for the differant size catagories later. But this should get you guys started.

Mr Zektoll - July 5, 2007 07:07 AM (GMT)
Actually I've been playing around with an idea for a transformer that changes into this!

http://www.thinkbottle.com/transformer.jpg

Yes a transformer who changes into a transformer at an electrical plant, his robot form will be able to use electrical attacks. I was actually going to use him in something else, but since blood brought this up I might as well use him here.

Oh yeah and I just got back from the movie, with all the let downs recently(spiderman 3) I was worried but for once it didnt dissapoint!

WarriorZoalord - July 5, 2007 02:19 PM (GMT)
If I join this one. I got This as a vehicle form.

Kaiser Dragoon - July 5, 2007 03:39 PM (GMT)
Yay, I'll need to get to work!!!

Sparky - July 5, 2007 04:16 PM (GMT)
Yeah, when is this starting by the way, I can't find a automated toaster with wheels yet and I'm not using something as my robots alt mode if it isn't real cause that would just be corny....

Gall_4185 - July 5, 2007 05:00 PM (GMT)
if I take part then I call dibs on this

this

Ghrecki - July 5, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
nice form Kris/gall. real sweet form.
the one draw back is it's size will make you a scout class in size, but for that look Im sure you think it's worth it.

and I've only got my name and my drone's name to make. I have the stats and forms and all already worked out. just need the names.

and no you dont get to see it yet.

Gall_4185 - July 5, 2007 06:35 PM (GMT)
I dunno Ghrecks, the Tomohawk is pretty big for a bike. Besides, look at my track record. High speed assaults based on tactical superiority

Sparky - July 5, 2007 07:43 PM (GMT)
If not the toaster I've been looking for an effective UAV, but the ones with really sweet super cool radar gear are all too big to be a scout class, which is what I wanna try.

Ghrecki - July 5, 2007 07:56 PM (GMT)
you want to be a scout... on purpose... I salute you sparkster.

oh and blood figured out point value for size so here it is.

Sout class: 45 points
Deluxe class: 55 points
Voyager class: 65 points
Leader class: 80 points
Ultra class: 90 points

blood hasnt said how many leadrs we can have avalible but so far i dont think anyone has asked for one. and the ultra class has been assined already. :weep:

anyway their are you points for size so when you have your size class get craking on point placement

Sparky - July 5, 2007 08:21 PM (GMT)
Well one on one in a fair fight, I'd rather fight a scout yes, but let's be practical nothings ever fair in life and scouts are sneaky weasly buggers that alwas do something to cause trouble.......... B)

Ghrecki - July 5, 2007 08:28 PM (GMT)
so those of you who have shown what you want we have
a transforming transformer by Mr. Z: delux class
a steath fighter by bunny: Voyager class
a really really sweet bike by gall: scout class
and that's all that has been shown here... comeone we need more people to show what they are.. I would but I havent found the right pic for it yet

Riven - July 6, 2007 12:08 AM (GMT)
I'm trying to figure out what form I want

I'll let yahs know as soon as I do <<

BloodStorm - July 6, 2007 12:59 AM (GMT)
you guys don't know how tempted I am to use This or this as a villian.

Sparky - July 6, 2007 04:03 PM (GMT)
It's official Ghrecki, I've picked mine too, scout class but you'll need to wait and see what my alt form is, it's a secret. I can say with certainty though it's not the air-to-air missile with a deactivated detonator that I originally wanted, Blood shoot me down on that, personally I just think he didn't want me with a form that can travel at Mach 4-5 but thats just me.....

Ghrecki - July 6, 2007 05:26 PM (GMT)
mach 4 or 5 isnt the reason. I think bunny's form can go mach 3 at least.

it's more the whole... being a missle.
now we just need riv's and kiaser's forms... oh and blood's unit.

I have my name and stats and alternate form all worked out already. im just waiting for blood to start the df's and start the story before i post it up.

Kaiser Dragoon - July 6, 2007 06:47 PM (GMT)
I shall be this if that is acceptable.

Ghrecki - July 6, 2007 07:02 PM (GMT)
nice choice kaiser man.

blood nor I see any reason why thet shouldnt be allowed.
car sized so that makes you a deluxe

Kaiser Dragoon - July 6, 2007 07:07 PM (GMT)
Awesome! I was just about to ask what size that made me. B)

Hurry up and figure it out Riv, if I can do it quick, so can you :P

Ghrecki - July 6, 2007 07:09 PM (GMT)
strange that non of you seem to be trying for leader class.

but with some of your choices i can see why you wouldnt mind being a smaller size class

Kaiser Dragoon - July 6, 2007 07:10 PM (GMT)
And there is always the prospect of moving up in the ranks too. It's no fun being starting off at the top and having no where to go later on.

Ghrecki - July 6, 2007 07:24 PM (GMT)
well still great choice.

now we need riv's blood's and the 'other'
MWahahahahaha!

>.>

<.<

>.>

I was never here you saw nothing
*throws a ball onto the ground and is engulfed in smoke dissapearing from sight*

WarriorZoalord - July 6, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
if i woulda gone for the bomber version of hte plane i had, it'd be big enough for leader me thinks :P

Sparky - July 6, 2007 08:46 PM (GMT)
Well not picking leaders has to do with personal taste for me, got tired of characters who are just soldiers or killers or fighters, everyone seems to be that in most rpg's and that I tried be a scout/spy for Bloods Chronos sequel but he got lazy and that went into hibernation so I thought I'd give it another go here.

Also Kaiser's reason is also pretty good.

WarriorZoalord - July 7, 2007 05:32 PM (GMT)
updating my alt form to this

Ghrecki - July 7, 2007 08:45 PM (GMT)
I really wanna play This
but not likely as there is already a transformer of this (ie metroplexe) but i shall do all i can to get this into the rp.

ps. DAMN that thing is HUGE

New mechanics.

Class-to-Stat modifiers.
If two transformers have the same stats, but are of differant size-ranks, one can ussually assume the higher ranked transformer is sllightly better. This means if a Delux and a Voyager both have a Strength of 6, the Voyager's six is going to be slightly better than the Delux's 6. This is true of Strength, Endurance, and Firepower.

Speed is an exception. Scouts are inherantly faster than all other classes.. if a scout and any other class have the same level of speed, the scout is still faster. To be able to move faster than a scout, you have to be atleast one point higher in speed per differance in size to outpace them.

Pure-Combat Drones.
Available to Voyagers, Leaders, and Ultra class only. These drones lack a normal alternate form, instead when not in action appear to be part of the master's body. When activated, they drop from the master's body and assume a combat form, oftain an animal of some sort, but that is not required. These drones have a differant set of stat-caps as normal drones. The maximum stats for a pure-combat drone is as follows.

Strengh: 7
Intelligance: 2
Speed: 5
Endurance: 7
Rank: 1
Courage: 6
Fireblast: 7
Skill: 3

Normal drones are more intelligant and can come up with thier own sollutions to problems, while combat-drones are simply exensions of thier master's will, making them follow commands to the letter without inginuity or forethought.

Repair/Reload
It'll eventually happen. You'll get into a fight, and part of your arm is blown off, and your out of ammo for your cannons.. What can you do? Gather raw material and an external powersource. The only thing constant about a transformer's body is the spark, everything else is alot more maliable under the right circumstances. This means that with access to enough metal, you can rebuilt damaged components and replenish solid ammo by touching the material and willing your spark to form it into the desired format. Similarily, drones can be rebuilt if destroyed in this manner.

Drone-Death.
The death of a drone is never easy. Not only do they represent a significant portion of your point value, and occasionally firepower.. but if they're destroyed it's highly dissorienting, the master feels the drone's last moments as well, and the mental feedback can be devistating, giving a -2 penalty to intelligance, speed, and skill untill you can rest and recover for a few minutes. Building a new drone is simply enough.. but for standard drones you can only restore it's memories up to the last time you linked with it. Combat drones are simply an exenstion of your will, and have no personal memories of thier own, so they will be as fresh as ever upon reconstruction.

Kamui de' Tempest - July 8, 2007 08:14 AM (GMT)

I'll see your SU-47 Berkut and raise you a JAS-39 Gripen
