This is my version of a tutorial off digitalarts

Here we go: (to see the finished effect, scroll down and look at the attatched image)

1. Open a new document. Any size you want

2. Fill it black on the first layer

3. Grap the elliptical marquee tool, and make a circle as close to centre as possible. Dont make it too big. To make it a "square" circle, hold down shift when dragging

4. Grab the gradient tool (may be hidden under the paint bucket tool) and make a gradient going from Black to White anywhere randomly in the circle. Just once.

5.Deselect the circle (ctrl+d)

6. Go Filter -> stylize -> Extrude and use whatever settings you want. I used:
Type:Blocks
Size: 60 pixels
Depth: 50
Level based
Solid front faces

Click OK

7. Press ctrl+F until you like the result. but we are not finished yet...

8. Go filter -> Artistic -> Plastic wrap

9. Enter somewhere around these settings: (my settings)
Highlight Strength: 12
Detail: 11
Smoothness: 4

Click OK

10. Change the hue and saturation: ctrl+u and enter your settings. mine are:
CHECK COLOURIZE FIRST
Hue: 200
Saturation: 100
Lightness: 0

Complete! This tutorial was a request from fantastic. To make it more like the one in my sig, lower the opacity, after putting a white layer underneath
