Welcome to FEAR the SILENCE. We are a Harry Potter-based RPG, which takes place between the Marauder and Potter Eras. It is one year since the Dark Lord fell (1982), defeated by the infant Harry Potter. The Dark Lord is gone, but not for good, and certainly not forgotten. His followers are desperately trying to cover their tracks. Some are lashing out in defiance, some are kissing ass and making nice nice with the Ministry. Suspicions run extremely high--no one trusts each other anymore. The Wizarding Community has lost so much--so many loved onces. Now they're trying to get back on their feet, but the Darkness hasn't been completely defeated...

the MINISTRY of MAGIC!
The headquarters of all government in the Wizarding World. There are many entrances to the Ministry, but most workers arrive through the Floo Network. Visitors can access the Ministry Headquarters through a shabby red telephone booth, which doubles as an elevator. Oh those clever Wizards. There are many, many departments in the Ministry, including the infamous Department of Mysteries. Wizarding Law is upheld here at the Ministry, and the Auror Department.

Down this long cobbled street, Wizards will find shops supplying all their magical needs! It is a particlarly hot spot for Wizarding students, and they come to this shopping center before the start of each school year. You'll find everything from quill and ink to owls in Diagon Alley! And maybe a few surprises in darker corners....

GRINGOTTS WIZARDING BANK!
A centuries-old bank in Diagon Alley, run by shrewd Goblins. There are countless underground vaults and twisting passages. The vaults are guarded by powerful enchantments, and even magical creatures. You'd be mad to try to rob the place.

KNOCKTURN ALLEY!
Found just off of Diagon Alley, Knockturn Alley is its opposite. It is a shady, twisty place, sporting shops for the Dark Arts. The people found skulking around here are dangerous and sketchy. Here you'll find Borgin & Burkes, a shop specializing in "objects with unusual and powerful properties."

KING'S CROSS STATION!
...and of course, Platform f you have Nine & Three-Quarters. The platform for the Hogwarts Express is accessible through a brick wall--seriously. If one trusts the magic, they can walk right through the brick wall and out of the Muggle station. This is where young wizards and witches come to catch the train to school. It's usually a rather busy place.

LITTLE HANGLETON!
This town has gained great importance in recent wizarding history: it is the location of the Riddle House, where Tom Riddle lived. The Gaunt House is also located here--the Gaunts being the descendants of Salazar Slytherin.

AZKABAN!
Azkaban is the fearsom prison of the Wizarding World. It is located far out in the North Sea, and its prisoners are guarded by Dementors. It is an awful place, filled with despair, and inmates are forced to relive their worst memories through the Dementors' power. Most go mad within weeks. You never want to find yourself here--but it takes a great deal to land yourself in Azkaban Prison.

The GREAT HALL!
The Great Hall is a vast room in Hogwarts, in which all official ceremonies and all meals are conducted. The ceiling is enchanted to look like the sky, and it mirrors the current weather. There are four long tables for the students of the four Hogwarts Houses. Closest to the entrance is the Slytherin table, then Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and finally Gryffindor. At the front of the hall is a raised platform and the High Table, where the Headmaster and professors sit.

the CORRIDORS & HALLWAYS!
It's easy to get lost in the hallways of Hogwarts--especially since the stairwells like to shift and change. By the end of their first year, students generally have a good idea of the stairs schedule, though it is always subject to change. There are many secrets to be found in the hallways....

the STAFF ROOM!
A long panelled room with a hodgepodge of miss-matched chairs and a wardrobe that is occasionally inhabited by a boggart. It is located off of the entrance hall.

the LIBRARY!
Hogwarts has a vast collection of books, supplying an enormous wealth of knowledge. Food is forbidden here, and there are spells preventing the theft of books. There is a restricted section in the back, marked off by ropes. You need a signed note from a teacher to check out these books. The Library closes at 8pm.

the HOSPITAL WING!
The hospital wing is a large space, lined with small beds with clean white sheets and privacy screens. Some very unusual cases come through here, but Madam Pomfry keeps a very organized and clean house here!

the PREFECTS BATHROOM!
This room is elegantly crafted of white marble, and it boasts a sunken bathtub, the size of a swimming pool. It is lined with nearly a hundred taps with jeweled handles, all emitting water and different soaps. The room is softly lit with a candle-filled chandelier. It requires a password for entry.

the ROOM of REQUIREMENT!
This is a magical room, only accessible to someone who is in great need. It is located on the seventh floor, and takes the shape of any sort of room the person is in need of. It is sort of mythical at Hogwarts, and tricky to find, but very helpful.

HOGWARTS GROUNDS!
Hogwarts castle is located on a great spot of land, overlooking a massive lake and lots of grassy property. The Forbidden Forest lines the boundary line. Beware of the Whomping Willow on the gounds, it has a nasty attitude.

HOGSMEADE VILLAGE!
While not a part of the Hogwarts property, it is so close that the village shares a special relationship with the school. Students are brought on visits to the village on certain days of the school year. It is the only entirely-wizarding village in Britain, and contains many popular places: visit Dervish and Banges for magical equipment, Honeydukes Sweetshop for some treats, The Three Broomsticks for a good meal and a drink, Zonko's Jokeshop, or the shady Hog's Head pub, run by Aberforth Dumbledore.
