Title: Opinions of Final Fantasy VII

What is your opinion of Final Fantasy VII? Good, bad? Is it as good as it's hyped up to be?
In my opinion, it is a great game, but I like Final Fantasy VIII better. Final Fantasy VII seemed a little...too fake. But VIII, it has something that almost everyone can relate to.

hmm...okay 8 was pretty damn good i loved it. but i just seem to love seven a lot more. my first rpg game i ever played. the story was amazing. true it may be overhyped but i can understand why. it really was an amazing game.

It is very over hyped...But I was happy the day I got it. I went to Game Stop and went into the "10 dollar or less" bin and got both FFVII and FFVIII for a total of $11! I see VII sell for $60 on Amazon lately, so, great price! lol.

I agree with Nelo. I understand why it was so overhyped. VIII was great, but VII, IMO, was indeed the best.

damn, you cant get it less than £20 here in England. thats like $40 or so. they are expensive but luckily i still got 7,8,9 and 10 from over seven years ago in my possession. never gonna sell those babys.

VII is a really great game, but it is overhyped like others have said. I think that the title has been milked just a bit much, maybe if they only had AC it would be fine :)
The game in itself though is pretty good. Difficult to understand at times though but still good. Some of the characters i dislike so that doesn't help i guess but their are a few that i adore and i'm glad were created ^_^
At times i do really think it would benefit from a re-make purely because of the difficulty it is to find a decent copy. I seen on amazon for a brand new copy they were starting at over $200 up to over $300. Pre-owned prices started at $70 which i think is shocking...
But yeah its a good game... i personally think that its just as good as VIII if not at some points a bit better :)

how can u say vii was over hyped, i dont remeber ever hearing about ff vii before i actualy played the game, and tbh i like it much more than 8. there were parts in 8 that i just didnt like, but i like every thing about 7, great story, enjoyable characters, cool battles ect...
