1. No shorthand
Just like it says in the Basic Rules, do NOT use chat/leet speak.
2. Third Person Point of View
Please RP in the third person. This makes it easier for other players to interact with your posts.
3. Speech
Speech is held in quotation marks ("blah") and nothing else. As long as you keep these quotation marks you can do anything else to the speech (except shorthand it), like italics, bold, and colors. Be advised that italics are usually used to signify thoughts though, and it'll be on your head if your post is misunderstood. The use of underlines is usually discouraged.
4. IC and OOC
If you have to say something out of character (OOC) in an RP thread. Then separate that text from the rest of your post through the use of spaces, parentheses, brackets, and don't forget to put an 'OOC:' tag before it. If your OOC message is more then three sentences long, don't clutter the RP thread with it, just make a post about it in the OOC forum.
5. No Godmoding or Powerplaying
Godmoding is having an invincible character (character never gets tired or injured, or has a weapon which can destroy anything and is unbreakable) and is strictly forbidden. Powerplaying is taking control of another persons character and saying that character dose something WITHOUT THE CHARACTERS PLAYER AGREEING IN ADVANCE. That means that if you talk to another RP'er and you agree to a certain course of action you are at liberty to say their character did things towards that goal. Do not randomly take control of other people's characters just because it suits you.
6. Turn Based
The basic RP set up is turn based. You start a thread, people join. And then replies are made IN THE SAME ORDER AS PEOPLE JOINED. If your a late comer wanting to jump in either join at the end of the turn round or ask between which two players your turn should be. Once the order is set do not change it unless a player pulls out of the RP or passes on their turn. Players that pass will have a chance to post at the end of the turn-round before a new turn-round is begun.
7. Closed and Open RPs
If it doesn't state either in the RP topics title or description that the RP is 'closed' or 'restricted' the RP is automatically considered to be open. An open RP can be joined by anyone and at any time of the RPs progression. Remember folks, role plays with multiple people are encouraged. You can only do so much with just one on one interaction.
8. Character Profiles
You are expected to keep your profiles updated. If the CIS base changes, update your character sheet. Something major happens in an RP of yours, update your character sheet. Anything that isn't listed in the profile of your character, i.e. meeting a person, making a new friend, gaining a new evolution, will be treated as if it never happened. So it's important to keep up with developments.
9. Character Profile Boards
Once your first character is accepted, you might notice the appearance of the cute little Moderator Control Panel link beside your name. Every member is a moderator of their own profile board, and within that profile board you can do pretty much whatever you want. Put up a scrap-book, blog, create a thread showing off your avatar or adoptables collection, create profiles for more of your own characters and NPCs for them; you've got free rain as long as you stay within the general rules of the board. If you want you can even PM me a custom title and description of your board. You could go as far as to turn it into a sort of home base for your characters where you and other people can RP. This is your turf, have fun with it.
