Mythril Mine

A mine to the south of Kalm. It was once, and is slowly becoming again, the location of Kalm's main industry. It was abandoned due to the appearance of monsters within and around the mine, which were created from the mako pollution being produced by Midgard. The Midgar Zoloms in the swamp outside the mines were an example of the creatures that had taken up residence.

Since the fall of Shinra and Midgard, the monsters slowly died out allowing for the people of Kalm to return to their work. The mine was closed temporarily for a second time after Kalm suffered an attack by Deep Ground but has since been reopened.

Despite the fact that there are indeed no more monsters left within the mine, many of the workers report feeling a virulent and malicious aura within some of its deeper reaches. There is no proof that this is anything more then superstition.
