Title: A bit of poetry discussion
Description: William Blake

Reinard-fox - April 28, 2008 06:59 PM (GMT)
Never seek to tell thy love,
Love that never told can be;
For the gentle wind does move
Silently, invisibly.

I told my love, I told my love,
I told her all my heart;
Trembling, cold, in ghastly tears,
Ah! She doth depart.

Soon as she was gone from me,
A traveler came by,
Silently, invisibly:
He took her with a sigh.

William Blake

Now, do you agree with his opinion or not?

Nice poem. I'm going to need a basic tranlation of this. I have numerous interpretations from this and I need clarification on exactly what it is you are looking at.

Reinard-fox - April 30, 2008 08:30 AM (GMT)
^If you gave me a brief explanations for all those interpretations you created it would be easier for me to pick one that i see the most fitting and closest to mine ;P

I forgot them...you took too long to ask...

Reinard-fox - May 1, 2008 05:38 AM (GMT)
......Duh. Oh well, OK.

Poem of a girl like a wind, you tell her your feelings but that doesn't mean she will stay.

Well, part of the life. The poem seems rather direct and simple - the traveler it's just a guy who got more lucky than you.

Reinard-fox - May 1, 2008 09:46 AM (GMT)
^ Not just more lucky; he used a totally different approach (silently, invisibly) and thus succeeded.

Of course, a part of life. Rather simple, but beautifully done.

So this poem is saying that one should be patient when dealing in love. Be patient and don't push women to feel the same for you because they are as unpredictable as the wind and their hearts must be free to go, and choose whomever it pleases.

something like that?

Reinard-fox - May 16, 2008 06:01 AM (GMT)
^ Yes, like that. Synchronizing waves is said to be a good thing ;)

Bluedragon77 - May 22, 2008 06:47 AM (GMT)
Anything else? Anything more you'd like to add?

Reinard-fox - May 22, 2008 12:31 PM (GMT)
^ You mean I'm missing something important? Please tell me what it is if it is so. I'd like to know it, because I do not see anything like that.

I thought you were going somewhere with this.
