Title: Reproduction?
Description: Is it possible.
Falix - April 22, 2008 12:17 AM (GMT)
Is it possible for claymores to have kids. Or maybe if a human did it with a claymore would it be possible for them to have kids? If so how would there kids be like. What about awaken beings? Could they reproduce to? How would there kids be like? Could they have kids with humans? What do you guys think?

Is it possible? Maybe. Can't know for sure. Maybe Raki will knock Clare up or something and than we can all see their little bundle of 'joy'.
I guess they can, but because of their lifestyle it's practically impossible.

Remember the time where Teresa almost got rape by the bandits (I wouldn't call it rape):

I guess they are technically 'equiped' for the process of making a child but 'growing' one may not be possible I guess.
Who knows. Maybe it's entirely possible for them but with the use of yoki they are not able to 'grow' one. Clare did mention that it is possible for Claymores to live like humans, maybe she meant that part as well.
Kolox - April 22, 2008 01:04 AM (GMT)
I believe that's one thing Handlers decided upon claymores as not necessary and was erased.
Also if we were to go scientifically about it, some hybrids and mutants mostly can't give birth. Mutation with ability to reproduce is allowed but only if made steadily - I believe Reinard would have more to say about that.
Also we had a little thread about Duph and Riful upcoming child ;p
Bluedragon77 - April 22, 2008 01:15 AM (GMT)
Riful's expecting a baby? When did that happen? Is it in the new chapter? Was there some hint I missed while reading Claymore?
That's right hybrids can't really reproduce with the original 'parent' species. Maybe Claymore's are the same. or else why go through the trouble of making claymores when you can grow your own? They will be able to produce 'armies' of similiar soldiers/warriors like Alicia and Beth.
I guess they can't reproduce and this carries on to their AB form.
Falix - April 22, 2008 01:19 AM (GMT)
So could two AB reproduce with each other?
Bluedragon77 - April 22, 2008 01:22 AM (GMT)
Probably not. My prof. mentioned this in my Bio class. Hybrids can't normally reproduce and if they can the next generation won't be able too. Being a hybrid sorta sucks. You're either born sterile or your offspring is genetically defective so they can't reproduce with any other species which includes their own hybrid species.
Sucks to be them.
Kolox - April 22, 2008 01:24 AM (GMT)
As their genotype does not really fit with any other.
Infamous thread :
http://z3.invisionfree.com/Endless_Gravest...p?showtopic=360Even so, a Claymore can enjoy sex without being afraid of being pregnant..
Falix - April 22, 2008 01:26 AM (GMT)
Maybe when they reach our level of technology they will be able to do it.
Bluedragon77 - April 22, 2008 01:37 AM (GMT)
Ok I take that back. It does not suck to be them. And with all the orphans running amok courtesy of the yomas, they can just adopt one.
Our level of technology involves an AK-47. By than we won't need Claymore's anymore.
Kolox - April 22, 2008 01:44 AM (GMT)
AK-47 is so old news Blue - it's all about microwave weapons now and frying your opponents BRAINS.
The whole concept really reminds me of the Witcher yet I doubt the author read the book. Basically it goes like this
1) Half-monsters who are created through various drugging and eating flesh of other monsters
2) They hair goes white in the process
3) They can't reproduce because they are mutants
4) They have great silver claymore sword for monsters and iron sword for humans. Yet they are not allowed to kill humans unless if in self-defence
5) They go around stealing little children to make them another "Witcher"
6) They are asked by cities to kill monsters
7) They are commonly disliked
Seriously..It's like copy pasta but the difference is the Awakened being form and fact that there isn't much female witchers as they are to weak to survive the transformation.
Bluedragon77 - April 22, 2008 01:54 AM (GMT)
I like AK's. They're cool. Even if they are old.
'Look out! Here comes my toaster-oven!' Take that yomas! I can destroy monsters as well as make a toasted cheese sandwich!
Kolox - April 22, 2008 01:58 AM (GMT)
I dug up an old AK from garden. My Grandpa took it to his house and repaired it.
I was more concerned about Yoma reproduction system, but that would prove my theory that they were created by organization itself.
Falix - April 22, 2008 02:18 AM (GMT)
I'm thinking of writing a fan fiction about claymore in our current time. Now more about reproduction and less about AK.
Kolox - April 22, 2008 02:36 AM (GMT)
Hentai fanfic ? Hopefully you don't want to insert shemales there...
Falix - April 22, 2008 02:41 AM (GMT)
No, not hentai or anything like that.
Bluedragon77 - April 22, 2008 03:29 AM (GMT)
A fanfiction? I look forward to it.

I need an editor. Since my grammar isn't that good. Anyone want to help?
Bluedragon77 - April 22, 2008 09:35 PM (GMT)
I would love to help you out but I'm a terrible editor, and my grammer is very, very bad.
Me is not spoke english good. <= example of my grammer.

From scientific point of view....
If Organization did not intentionally hurt the ovary and testis to physically make reproduction impossible, then claymores should be able to reproduced. Additionally, their children would be humans, not halfies. The reason for it being teh fact that germ cell line precursors are specified pretty early in development of mammal (humans included) and non of somatic cells, that are obviously altered with Yoma parts transformation, can't produce spermatozoids or oocytes, thus mutations or chromosomal transformations that occur in somatic cells can't possibly be inherited by next generation. I believe that germ spermatozoids or oocytes won't undergo any genetical changes when body is being fused with Yoma, for special barriers protect this cell lines from contact with any mutagens that may influence the development of somatic cells, thus their genetic material should remain that of a human.
As for hormonal component - from Helen's words it seems that claymores do not have problems with that ;)

So is it possible if a Yoma and human to have kids if they got together?
Bluedragon77 - May 1, 2008 05:18 PM (GMT)
Can't tell. All the girls who have been raped by yomas don't really live long enough to find out before they are turned into claymores. probably not. inter-species thing won't really work out. I've read about it somewhere in a BIO book that inter species breeding was very hard to do, and if it is done than the offspring would be sterile or unable to reproduce because it would require a similiar species to breed.

Now, where did this come from? Yoma and human are different species, thus most likely have different chromosome number. Meaning, fertilization will fail to occur. NO YomaXHuman kids.
Falix - May 1, 2008 05:38 PM (GMT)
Do yoma even have different sexes or are they asexual?
