Title: Cloning
Description: So would you like a clone of yourself

Kolox - March 1, 2008 09:20 AM (GMT)
A clone - simply a perfect copy of cells of another human being - or animal.

A clone - part of the clones could be used for transplants - yet would it be alive, would it be real.

A clone - many games, books, movies, like Starwars , Hitman or many others describe cloning as a way of making indestructable army which can make a lot of evil in bad hands.

A clone - in overpopulated community, additional being who needs to eat

A clone - a way for immortality, a chance to increase our life ?

Discuss your opinions about cloning and would you like to have your own clone.

Zangi - March 1, 2008 09:55 AM (GMT)
In an overpopulated world like we have, Clones are good for only 3 things.

Source food, science/research, and organs.

Otherwise, it is useless.

Clone rights? Oh, people will definitly squawk about it... Especially over the science/research part...

And my own clone... hmm... another me... its not a kage bunshin.... No. I am my worse enemy... >.>

Isley - March 1, 2008 01:04 PM (GMT)
Meh, morality questions have been raised and many have "squawk" about it

I'd like a clone. Not of myself of course... i wouldn't stand to look at the mirror much and definately much less at a identical copy of my own face and form.

But cloning for say... organs might be viable.. just not an actual human. Animals? i wouldn't say much. I can't fathom the cultivation of an animal just to eat it already much less cloning one. (but still, i'm far from being a vegan :P)

edited: kage bushin? i wouldn't mind a sexy no jutsu out of say... hmm any young nubile sexy superstar :D ... no wait.. make that harem no jutsu.

Reinard-fox - March 1, 2008 06:01 PM (GMT)
It's better to create organs out of cell cultures then make clones to rip them for organs later.

I say no, no need to increase population.

Elcura - March 1, 2008 06:20 PM (GMT)
I'd say China was a good enough reason to not make clones. More than enough people there.

Zyel - March 1, 2008 08:15 PM (GMT)
a clone: a good waste of money and air.

No I wouldn't want one.

MoonWhisper - March 1, 2008 10:46 PM (GMT)
I have no opinion until they can clarify whether or not a clone will actually think and act the same way as the original with the same memories and personality.

Fact is, I'd rather spend money on rejuvenating your body than cloning it /...

Really, there's no benefit. It's not immortality, because it retains whatever diseases and age you had. Cloning has no benefits, unless they wanted to get some new test subjects for their inhumane torture labs. /sigh I'm sure they'd find an excuse, "a cloned human is not human because it is not natural and not a species of earth", or whatever. It'd only cause problems if you ask me.

If you need a heart transplant where would you get one?

MoonWhisper - March 2, 2008 01:28 PM (GMT)
Currently they have already succeeded in using skin cells to grow stem cells that naturally reproduce, and can be reprogrammed to function as any body parts such as the heart and brain, they even started beating like one. However, it may be five years or so before they can fully perfect the technique. I think we're closer to that than to cloning humans. We've already had a hard time with cloning dogs, how do you expect to clone socially complex animals such as primates? Let alone humans.

If you channel the effort from cloning to stem cell research (no more controversy because they no longer use embryos), you can lessen the time it takes to reach the point where you can regrow limbs and organs. Since the cells are derived from ones' own body, there is no risk of rejection, unlike a clone, which may have unknown effects.

Zyel - March 2, 2008 01:52 PM (GMT)
Well cloning organs and small little things that could save a human's life is good enough, but cloning a human being is out of the question. Well unless that human is actually cute enough to be cloned.

MoonWhisper - March 2, 2008 03:27 PM (GMT)
"Cloning organs" you say? That is not even relevant, we're talking about cloning whole beings, mostly humans. And cloning, as far as I gather, has more to do with growing something than just making it appear.

And making clones of people just because they're "cute" is only going to cause more trouble, if you can see where this is going.

Kolox - March 2, 2008 03:38 PM (GMT)
One could clone Hitler or Stalin.. although would that matter ? :D

Reinard-fox - March 2, 2008 03:59 PM (GMT)
We can clone Stalin and kill him. We can clone him once more and kill him again. Isn't that cool?

Zyel - March 2, 2008 07:39 PM (GMT)
That's booring. You can get your perfect girlfriend this way.

Reinard-fox - March 2, 2008 07:44 PM (GMT)
^ That would be Induced Mutagenesis.

Zyel - March 2, 2008 08:49 PM (GMT)
clone the girl you always wanted to date(without modification though boobs should be an exception).

Reinard-fox - March 2, 2008 09:01 PM (GMT)
If she refused to date you clone will most likely do so as well, there genetic background is the same after all. So you'll have to do some changes in that area.

The clone will not possed the same genetic memory so that could be arranged. Also her thoughts are influenced by her background so you could make something else in exchange. Brainwashing also may work well.

MoonWhisper - March 2, 2008 11:22 PM (GMT)
Then why not just design your own perfect body and make it your slave? Besides, = illegal. Unless they deem cloned humans inhuman.

Kolox - March 3, 2008 06:21 AM (GMT)
Isn't it cheaper to find yourself a girlfriend - I know both are expensive and time consuming..but choose.

Isley - March 3, 2008 12:20 PM (GMT)
Well, won't it actually be more expensive to clone a girl and date her? i mean... paying for both the cloning and then the dating...

Kolox - March 3, 2008 03:56 PM (GMT)
Would you really date a clone - I thought it was about having 27/7 sex ?

Reinard-fox - March 3, 2008 06:57 PM (GMT)
27/7?! How is this even possible? Its unavoidable death!

Kolox - March 3, 2008 07:12 PM (GMT)
Clonning helps..

Reinard-fox - March 3, 2008 07:27 PM (GMT)
^ Clone yourself and make your clone have sex and die? But.... where is the pleasure here?

MoonWhisper - March 4, 2008 08:54 PM (GMT)
Moving away from that topic...

except the fact that you now have a sex addicted slave what better reason?

Zangi - March 5, 2008 03:30 PM (GMT)
^ Try being a little more clear... or maybe you are fine with a same-gender clone who is sex addicted?

I'll pass.

Zyel - March 5, 2008 04:13 PM (GMT)

Only women. I dissagree with cloning men.

Zangi - March 5, 2008 04:38 PM (GMT)
Yea... ok...

MoonWhisper - March 5, 2008 07:47 PM (GMT)
Well this is certainly indepth discussion, I give you that.

Well we got into a new dimension of cloning. Cloning for personal pleasure.

Bluedragon77 - March 27, 2008 05:41 PM (GMT)
Does 'cloning massive army to take over the world' count as a personal pleasure?
