Title: Main Mission 3: Lieu de la batille
Elcura - February 29, 2008 11:01 PM (GMT)
Ok, so the main mission is up, before we get rolling here are a few things to remember.
1) If a player doesn't post within 3 days, without giving a reason (letting us know of their absence). Kolox will hit your character with a huge, unexplained meteor. And trust me, there's plenty in stock. Let us know if you're going to be absent. It takes less than 5 minutes (being incredibly generous with time there) to make a short post in the absence thread. If you can't participate for a while your character will be moved by a GM automatically.
-----
2) I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Absofuckinglutely no godmodding. 1st time is a warning. 2nd time 3 day ban and possible character death. 3rd time you're out. For good. It says a lot if you can't learn from your mistakes after all.
-----
3) Changing posts: You can't change a post once you've posted. If you want to, or need to, talk to a GM. There will be a discussion with the other players in the mission about it, since their actions may be affected by your post, therefore changing your post makes them look crazy. No ninja edits, if a player informs a GM about someone ninja editing their posts and now all the subsequent posts make no sense. 3 day ban. Communication is the key people.
One thing you can do though, is change the basic layout of your post. If you want to edit a post because of spelling mistakes or you want to make things clearer then you're free to do so. As long as the actions and results are the same it's fine. To help this, a note (OOC, or in Lounge) explaining what you changed would help.
-----
4) Music and pictures: Only GMs can use music, it'll slow down the forums if every Tom, Dick and Jane posted music to go with their actions. Pictures can be used by everyone, no problem. Though, anything bigger than 800x600 will need to be thumb nailed. If they aren't then they'll get deleted. Abusing these rules the first few things won't get you anything more than a warning and the post will have the music/heugpic taken out. But there's only so much we can handle before getting pissed off (some more than others) so don't take liberties.
-----
5) OOC: OOC sections are generally fine if you keep them vague. Asking for simple things and brief questions. Detailed strategies and game plans should be done in the Lounge though.
-----
Those are set in stone rules.
Here are some other things to note while RP'ing~
Claymores do not refer to themselves as Claymores. They simply say things like 'this warrior' or 'that person', so don't get it twisted. I've seen people refer to themselves, and others as Claymores. While not a huge offense and certainly won't get any action taken against you, it is kind of a rookie mistake.
Suppose I ought to make this clear now. Actions. Underlined please. Ideally I would like to read a mission thread alone and get a grasp on what each player is doing and intends to do.
An excerpt.
| QUOTE |
| Kaiserin loosened the grip on her claymore with her left hand, placing it on one of the bodies beneath her. In a runner-like stance, she prepared her dash towards her target, the monster on the far left. Getting proper footing was hard, as the bodies often moved and broke apart. Once everything was set, she shot off like a bullet towards her target, holding the claymore in her right hand she aimed for the creatures large arm with a vertical slash from above her head... |
If I underlined the actions and intentions:

I know from skimming over this that 1) Kaiserin's intentions. Dashing towards the monster on the far left and 2) Kaiserin's actions. A vertical slash at the creatures arm (in a perfect world I would've said what arm, but hey, from this I can easily make conclusions).
GMs will not take any plans/decisions made in the Lounge and use them to make results. Results are made from posts in the actual mission thread only, so be clear about any plan or cooperative action, otherwise the GM will take whatever they are given and post something that might not be what you intended.
For everything else there's-
RP Notes/Guidelines Thread (please do read this at least once)Last but not least, have fun.

Hmm so this is the 13 people who signed up and are participating? Eh and I arranged the people by rank.
Nope - March 1, 2008 02:17 AM (GMT)
is it possible for a trainee to participate without dieing?
Zangi - March 1, 2008 03:55 AM (GMT)
Well, considering the type of mission, for 2/3rd of us its partially covert ops. We go around in disguise, and 'investigate' things.
Not too bad for trainee work...
But when the big things happen.... to not die, don't try to be a hero... don't try to do anything too far above.... newbie level. Well, I suppose there may be circumstances, expect pain either way...

Just to verify...
The scene is a rainy evening or a rainy afternoon? My eyes fail me...

I think it's a rainy evening...
Bluedragon77 - March 1, 2008 06:07 AM (GMT)
Shit. I'm going to need someone to watch me. I will attempt to do the best I can. This is going to be kinda hard.
Hope I don't F*$& up.
SilentBuddhist - March 1, 2008 07:44 AM (GMT)
Bleh >.< First paragraph wasn't so great in my intro, and I'm not sure about the rest.
Well considering I did this at midnight, go figure I guess? :P
Elcura - March 1, 2008 02:54 PM (GMT)
Oh right, I would like to make another comment that will help the GMs immensely, when you use Yoki can you make a note (besides your description) of how much Yoki you're using?
Like if you use Yoki you might say "Character name unleases 30% of their Yoki" and so on. Thanks~
SilentBuddhist - March 1, 2008 03:54 PM (GMT)
Will do. I always do that, just for the sake of clarifying stuff for me and everyone else. I don't like going over 50% though, since that's the yoki limit for males in OMF.
Elcura - March 1, 2008 03:59 PM (GMT)
We were debating whether to have the limit for male be 50%, but their release stronger. In the end I don't think it matters, the upper limit for everyone is 80%, but males feel the urge to go about 80% more readily than females do.
Up to you in anycase.
Bluedragon77 - March 1, 2008 06:57 PM (GMT)
Right than. I posted, it sucks but it's there.
SilentBuddhist - March 1, 2008 09:47 PM (GMT)
I posted again...
Hehe, I guess there was something good about being sick at home after all :P
But yeah, I make sure I put in how much yoki I'm releasing. "A little bit" or "a lot" is too vague for me, and I like to go into details anyway.
Reinard-fox - March 1, 2008 09:50 PM (GMT)
Question: Is it OK to use red or we shall all switch to colors that GMs are using?
.:LemonTea:. - March 1, 2008 09:51 PM (GMT)
Um...I have my post ready for the main mission, but I don't have a team. What exactly should I do? /wah
Elcura - March 1, 2008 10:07 PM (GMT)
Rei: You can, as long as my eyes don't bleed I won't bitch at you, remember the topic about RP, no overly dark colours that I can't read.
I remember seeing someone post using black as a colour. WTF is with that on a board with a black background?!
Lemon: You're on Lindy's team, I editted my post. However, we all have concerns that you will slow down the missions with your disappearing acts. Remember to use the absense thread because if you don't, meteors appear.
everyone: try to post at least once a day, this mission is aiming to move at least once a day, anything more is great but 1 a day is our goal.
Bluedragon77 - March 1, 2008 10:18 PM (GMT)
Hey! I have no problems reading black. I guess I'll just use white for this mission than.
Um I have posted about my situation so 1 post a day will be kinda hard. I'll try but I can't garantee that I'll be able to post 1 a day.
Elcura - March 1, 2008 10:36 PM (GMT)
you might be able to, but I don't - nor should anyone have to suffer through reading something that hard. Think of other people, not just yourself.
you're posting now, if anything - you being on my team I'll move you along, considering you posted in advance.
Hynavian - March 2, 2008 09:35 AM (GMT)
Report - Im heading out with my team soon. :)
Just a note, please place your character name atop of your post. You'll "find" some "new red words" atop those posts that do not have their character names atop.
Elcura - March 2, 2008 12:36 PM (GMT)
When blue posts my team will be moving as well. If he doesn't in~let's say 8 hours I will move his character for him.
Reinard-fox - March 2, 2008 04:11 PM (GMT)
Another questions: from what GMs post i thought that nobody knows Agatha's name because she never introduced herself, but then everyone started saying "agatha, agatha", so in the end - are warriors aware of who she is and what she is called or not?
Duath - March 2, 2008 04:20 PM (GMT)
I had the same question. I don't think I actually directly referred to her in speech, but in thought. Also, using her name when referring to her about her actions and what you think about her is much easier than saying "the person with a lot of yoki," at least for me.
Edit: I removed her name from Ariel's head in the main mission thread
Elcura - March 2, 2008 04:51 PM (GMT)
You can refer to Agatha as Agatha in your posts. But technically you don't know her name, so you make a post that goes like:
Xxx walked up to Agatha and bowed to her slightly before asking... etc
Since I think it would be a hassle for most people to make up a reference for a person they do not know. But when it comes to speech or thoughts, you don't know her.
However, it's not a detail I'm hard up on, so if people say/mention Agatha in a way they weren't really supposed to then I won't mind. I mean, people still refer to themselves and others as 'Claymores', so I guess I can't expect to much on that front.
SilentBuddhist - March 2, 2008 10:14 PM (GMT)
I'll just refer to Agatha as "that woman" if I'm typing out my character's thoughts or speeches :D
The above example though, that's what I do, since Walter still wouldn't know specifically that her name is Agatha.
Zangi - March 3, 2008 01:25 AM (GMT)
I'm just wondering if Decoy Team is waiting for anything particular.
Elcura - March 3, 2008 01:58 AM (GMT)
Just a heads up incase you're wondering. Soon enough we're going to split the main mission into 4 threads, one for each team. I'll put pertinent posts in the thread up until the latest, but basically when you see your team's thread pop up, post in their. When a team completes their mission then the posts go back in the main mission thread.
@ Zangi, Decoy Team is just waiting for the leader to move things along, which will be soon I think.
Elcura - March 3, 2008 03:51 PM (GMT)
Reinard-fox - March 3, 2008 05:55 PM (GMT)
I soooo don't like Lindy's phrase about how we are to fight the twins.... Sounds dangerous. Hardly as much as Luciela+Rafaela of course, but still.
Elcura - March 3, 2008 10:14 PM (GMT)

Here's a map I made on the general area, and the location of every team's starting point (note, that isn't necessarily where they will end up, or how they will move, but how they start).
Duath - March 4, 2008 01:44 AM (GMT)
Holding team seems to be in a sticky situation.
Duath - March 5, 2008 12:47 AM (GMT)
I felt all alone without an OOC... so I made one!
Anyway, @lenneth/isley, There were no explosives in the claymore world, so no gunpowder.
SilentBuddhist - March 5, 2008 12:52 AM (GMT)
A thread was already made for Strike Team, I think it's just that no one posts in the thread :P

Duath - March 5, 2008 01:12 AM (GMT)
So I guess I have troubles finding things...
Anyway, @lenneth/isley, There were no explosives in the claymore world, so no gunpowder.
Zangi - March 5, 2008 01:32 AM (GMT)
^ Have to agree, its pretty much based on medieval europe... and there has been no indication of any sort of gunpowder use anywhere in the manga...
Zangi - March 5, 2008 03:44 PM (GMT)
Elcura - March 5, 2008 04:52 PM (GMT)
Not sure what to say about it right now. My advice is to just wait until the TM is over and go from there. A post that far back in the mission doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.
Zangi - March 5, 2008 05:19 PM (GMT)
Eh, it will look wierd... if someone decides to read back on it... >.>
Elcura - March 5, 2008 05:43 PM (GMT)
Well, you can change it if you want too. I have no objections.
Kaiserkreuz - March 6, 2008 03:14 PM (GMT)
Hmm waiting for Isley's post.
Elcura - March 6, 2008 04:08 PM (GMT)
He posted, when you post up Kaiser you can both walk along to agatha and I'll set you up with more encounters.
