Title: Missle Defence elements based in Eastern Europe
Description: What do you think about this whole situa

I'm sure most of you heard about this - USA for over a year now is advocating the project of basing elements of Anti-Missle systems in Poland and Czechia, for the sake of, as they claim, anti-terrorist defence and defence against missles from Iran. The commonition was rised by Russia and some organisations in Czechia, who didn't want this happening for their own reasons. Russina goverment, obviouly, views it as one more line of defence against it's missles - and as the results treats this incident as the continuation of Cold War.
What am I interested in is your opinions about this, if anyone is interested at all.

That's a hot topic in my country.
There will be no anti-missile launcher in Czech by missile radar.
I'm personally against it and I absolutely understand why Russian government are pissed about that - not only the radar can read all the moves of their fleet and anything, also the rocket launcher is still a rocket launcher - no matter if U.S.A. will say that it will be only blanks who are used against missiles itself (no offence Reinard, but in old times Russia used the same way of diplomacy : "Naah, that's for defence only" and then it came it wasn't true, I don't think they will believe if U.S.A says absolutely the same thing now..)

Considering that CIA reported that there are no missles in Iran it's hard to belive that anti-missle system will be built against the country who can't even attack. ;)

From what I read it seems that the referendum was held there and people said "No".

Why would I be offended when its' absolutely true? Back when Khrushchev was the head of country he ordered to put missles on Cuba - back then they almost began the Third World War because of that.
You are right about that.

I don't see how you can argue you're allowed to put anti-missile defense in somewhere other than your own country. It's their land. They don't like it, it's out of the question.
EDIT:
I'm a little lacking in trust in the US for its foreign affairs, they have a long history of hypocritical and ethnocentric imperialism coupled with bigotry and a usual "Not my fault" follow up of isolationism.

^ Missing the point.
If they put the radar and missles there, the have a great control of what happens in Russia.
The radar can detect not only air activity from middle east, but also for whole Russia.
Also, rocket launched from USA to Moscow would need 10 minutes to arrive...from here, it would be about 3 minutes.
