Title: Extra Scene Number 8- The Rogue Organization

Duath - February 10, 2008 08:58 PM (GMT)
The air was dry, lacking moisture. Wisps of sand rose throughout the area, fluttering into the eyes of those who walked by. It was a desolate place, devoid of civilization, save one town. The town was large, larger than most, capable of housing many. The edges of the town possessed poor buildings, run down, and covered in the tan color of sand. As one traveled towards the center, the houses grew more intricate in design, cleaner and more presentable.

And in the middle the redundant clash of metal against metal resonated throughout the air, filling it, overriding any other noise. The repeated beats added to the feeling of a town, a feeling that was neither hope, nor despair. For it seemed that to those who dwelt within that small town, their lives were full of hope, yet as one looked upon it, a feeling of despair would immediately take hold of them, wrapping itself around their hearts.

In that same center, a building rose above all others, few large windows decorating its surface. The inside of the building was dimly lit, and despite this, a holy aspect radiated throughout its many rooms. At the very peak of the building, a man stood, clothed in a dark, loose robe. The color of the robe was so black that it seemed as if light were consumed by its ragged folds. The hood of the robe was raised above his head, and at his waists were six thin blades, only their intricate hilts visible to an onlooker.

The man peered out of a large window, fogged over, colored in certain areas. His eyes were trained on the ground below, and he did not move as someone approached. Climbing up the many stairs that separated him from the rest of the world was a thin, lithe figure, hooded like the man. She moved with a certain grace, almost gliding across the floor to where he stood. “Greetings, my lord.” Her voice was sweet, and yet at the same time distant.

The man did not turn as he spoke, his voice low and extremely soft. Yet it possessed a strange penetrating quality, a quality that made it seem as if his words were digging into one’s flesh: “Your report?”

“Yes, my lord. Two more had to be exterminated today, yet in their place we managed to bring forth one more, this one more stable than the others.”

“Good… good… And as for the preparations?”

“They are almost ready my lord, we should have her contained in a short while.” The conversation between the two was brief, and as it finished, the light reflected off the window in such a way that the man’s reflection was seen, nothing but two gleaming red eyes visible.

Mission Briefing:

The number 25 has been captured by a mysterious group. All that organization knows is that many footprints, roughly the size of a Claymore's were at the scene of abduction, along with strands of blond hair. There seems to have been a struggle there, and large Yoki residue remains behind.

The first 5 to post will go on the rescue mission.

- Jacob -

And yet another boring mission the Stalkers gave him. A bunch of bandits ? Some pampered prince is too scared and want them to be eradicated ?? Sure, no problem - they weren't soldiers, they weren't much of a fight either and their pitiful weapons - with daggers ? At me ? Completely dumb..

"So humans aren't that resourceful as you thought ?"

Don't get me wrong. If I were to choose between Claymore fanatics or I-must-eat-your-brain Yoma, I think I will stay with humans - at least they know how to brew good beer.

"True, true - on that one we always agree"
---
While collecting some daggers the bandits were using against his, so he could sell them or used them, Jacob noticed few 'hearts' coming his way.

"Now I wonder if I'm going to have a nice dessert"

Duath - February 12, 2008 02:33 AM (GMT)
A woman wandered the path leading to where Jacob stood. Her steps were erratic, lacking control and purpose. Dark clothing clung tightly to her body, revealing a voluptuous figure, and ivory skin. A hood hung loosely from her back, covering nothing, and allowing blond hair to fall down from a comely face.

The face of the woman was young, though somewhat twisted in confusion. Her eyes glimmered golden, and from her being a sense of power drifted forth. Her mouth was slightly agape, saliva dripping forth from its wet surface. Those golden eyes of hers seemed to be dull, possessing a primal quality to them.

In her hand, she held a large blade, its silver surface shining in the light of the sun. Occasionally, she would swing the weapon into the ground, disrupting dirt and causing leaves to explode forth. Suddenly, something crossed her eye, as if she had noticed something. Walking in the direction of the new appearance, she let out a soft grunt.

Turning a corner, she sighted the figure of Jacob, and her eyes flashed with recognition. Letting out a guttural roar, her eyes blazed and she leaped forth, her legs driving her towards the beast, sword raised high.

Kolox - February 12, 2008 09:29 AM (GMT)
"You must freaking kidding me"

The enemy, although looking dull, was still..probably, a trained huntress on period - bah, she even can be some kind of berserker type. In close combat, most yoma are in disadvantage thanks to that ridiculous sword of them, but if he disarmed her, his chances of winning would grow.

"The best way for now is see how dull her movements really are to perform necessary action - I could just turn invisible..but I think she might just not care and still slash in my direction"

The plan was simple, Jacob had few daggers. Throwing three should give him some idea. While jumping backwards as far as he could without hitting anything behind, he will throw one directly at her, trying to see if she will be able to block it, below her, hoping to hit her legs and see if she can reamain balance. Last one will be thrown without even targeting - it supposed to miss the target and see if the sound of dagger hitting something would distract her.

Duath - February 12, 2008 10:46 PM (GMT)
The woman's eyes blazed gold, radiating such fury that Jacob was almost swept beneath. Chaos prevailed, little logic evident in her motions. Her mouth was still agape, and saliva still dripped onto the ground as she made her way to Jacob. Completely ignorant of her surrounds, she was only focused on the figure of the Yoma. Her blade was raised in her hand, ready to strike once close enough. As the three daggers flew forth, the woman simply ignored them, allowing them to pierce her flesh.

No pain registered on her face, and she simply continued forward, blood dripping from two open wounds. By now, she was near Jacob, and with a final roar, she raised her blade above her head. Her movements had slowed, for the dagger placed in her leg had hindered her only slightly. The silver glinted in the sun, and with a mighty blow, she let the weapon fall downwards, propelling it towards the face of the beast, hoping to connect.

Kolox - February 15, 2008 09:41 PM (GMT)
"I just love the lunatics with swords..no time for thinking"

Jacob was more than often in situations like that, more than he should had left himself be. Trying to avoid is meaningless - the daggers proved nothing about the enemy senses beside the fact that it has his attack for nothing.

The only thing left is to tackle. Not hesitating nor giving much chances for claymore to actually connect his skull with the sword, he shoot himself toward her with his palm open, trying to make the claymore fall with him on the floor. In best scenario, the claymore will lose balance thanks to the wound inflicted before and lose grip on sword, making it strength struggle..in worst - Jacob's back will be slashed or even even..well, he didn't thought about the future so much in those two seconds.

Duath - February 18, 2008 05:16 AM (GMT)
The Claymore's eyes lacked life, and the only thing that seemed real about her, the only thing that defined her, was her feral snarl. Gutteral noises came forth as Jacob launched himself, and the Claymore did not pause to think. Too caught up in her own rage was she, that she failed to take into account the weight of the Yoma before her. As the silver blade descended, it overshot Jacob, the tip barely touching the dark skin of the beast.

As Jacob made contact, all breathe was knocked from her body, and her body went flying. Desperately, she held onto her sword, her eyes bulging. The move had worked far better than Jacob could have thought, for the woman drifted backwards many feet, her back scrapping against the rocky surface of the ground.

Letting out a scream full of pain, she haphazardly stood, clutching at her belly. Where Jacob's hand had made contact, five claw marks had formed, and from each blood freely flowed. Again, without thinking, the woman began forward, her movement less than precise, for she was dazed from Jacobs blow. Raising her sword above her head with both hands, she again attempted to take Jacob's life.

Sand rose forth from the ground in droves, like flies hurtling away from a source of disruption. The powerful hooves of six horses plunged into the soft material, causing it to erupt in chaotic formations. Desert land whirled by, as the six horses carried cloaked figures over its surface. Strands of blond hair were visible beneath the dark brown hoods that concealed their figure from the harsh heat of the sun.

The horses were blurred figures, guided gracefully by the hands of the six females. The form of large swords was visible behind them, yet nothing else could be made of the six. All that an outsider would see would be the forms of six lithe women, clothed in dark brown, racing across the desert at an unusual pace.

Ariel sat at the fringes of a camp, seemingly awaiting something. Her back was pressed against a large rock, smoothly carved by nature, and at her side, the silver glint of a Claymore was present. Her eyes were closed, and beneath her breasts, the woman crossed her arms. With both feet extended forward, the tip of one moved in small motions, conveying her impatience.

Letting out a soft sigh, Ariel mumbled to herself while opening one eye, gazing at the fire that burned in front of her. "Skah, they are late." The fire danced, casting orange embers that fell upon the ground, licking the air with beautiful tongues. And as the light weaved in and out, shadows behind Ariel rhythmically swayed, staying in beat with the silent music of the fire.

(OOC: Claymores need to join >_>))

Alanna sped towards her target, another Claymore, so she could begin her mission. Excitement laced her thoughts and she gushed happiness. She had a mission, an important one, and she was still a trainee. She felt quite accomplished because of this, so she wanted to do her best. Sand rose in a flurry behind her, her feet kicking it up. The wind twirled the sand in the air, creating an intricate dance, one that didn't go unnoticed by Alanna. She sighed contentedly, amazed at the sight. She however, had no time to enjoy it as her target quickly came into view.

Inside of a small camp, she saw one other Claymore, the first of the group. She leaned lazily against a rock, eyes fierce and angry. She sat by a fire, which cast light and shadows upon her face, making her seem much more intimidating. Alanna was a bit unnerved at this, but tried her damnedest to not show it. She needed to be strong so the Organization would rely on her again later.

"Hi!"

Her words went unnoticed by the one that was there. She merely went back to waiting, ignoring the presence of the bubbly newcomer. Alanna understood though. She must be just as anxious as she was. She felt like she already had a friend. She took a seat rather close to her and began humming. She twiddled her thumbs, tapped her feet, and kept moving, never allowing silence to creep over the small camp.

OOC: Edited characters personality, so I edited this as well...

Kaiserkreuz - February 18, 2008 06:32 AM (GMT)
A few days before the mission, Time 5:00 am:
Somewhere in tranquil and lush green forest the sound of steel and a falling small tree came out the silhouette a lone slim figure training to perfect his skill. When a figure of a man in black robes appeared behind him and spoke. "Hard working as always I see."

"I know that you have been there and watching me minutes before you made your presence clear. What is the mission now?"

"Number 25 has been abducted by a mysterious group and you are being sent to investigate the matter and someone in a town called Gloren will brief you futher with the mission.

Present time:
The place was hot and dull the warrior thought you can see nothing but sand and cacti he really didn't like deserts of all places which annoys him. When he saw the campsite and felt the presence of some yoki there he move to the location as silent as a cat stalking its prey while hiding his yoki just to make sure. Then he saw two female warrior sitting behind some rocks in the middle of the camp waiting for others to come.

Alerian sat silently behind some rock a little far from the others then rest a little while waiting to see their responses testing the other warriors capabilities in yoki detection.

Due to him being sent on a mission, apparently to find a number 25 that had dissapeared, Ludwig found himself in the desert. It was a tranquil place, the wind blew gently accross the plane. He had walked for a long time only stoping a few times momentarily along the way to view his surroundings. He could sense a source of Yoki in the distance, a few, he determined that it was the gathering point and carried on walking towards his destination.

T'was only a matter of minutes before he arrived at the camp, it wasn't to great a site; nothing he hadn't seen before anyway. Ludwig looked around and searched for his comrades and quickly trained his vision on a large rock from which most of the yoki was originating from. He dusted himself off and approached the rock, seeing a few strange faces he greeted them non-chalantly

"Hello, im here for the same reason you are; lets work well together alright?"

Most, if not all the group had gathered, surrounding the orange fire. As the two other trainees entered the camp, Ariel nodded, smiling politely. With a feat of will, she suppressed her urge to admonish them for being late, and concealed her displeasure. With annoyance, she glanced over at Alanna, the happy nature of the woman troubling Ariel. And as Ludwig spoke, Ariel again opened one eye, looking both the man and the woman over.

"Yes, lets. If you listen to me, we should be fine." Surprisingly, Ariel's tone reeked of self-confidence, full of authority. The woman's voice clearly indicated that she thought herself superior to the others, yet somehow, the way she spoke her words made this arrogance go unnoticed. Turning her head slightly, she gazed into the forest. Letting out a small yawn, her eyes twinkled as she caught sign of a source of Yoki. From past experience, this sign was a familiar one, yet nonetheless difficult to make out.

Near the makeshift camp of the three Trainees, a woman walked through the woods. Her blond hair occasionally got caught in the trees, and a blue hilt of a Claymore reached over her shoulder. Peering between trees, she examined the camp, keeping in mind the Yoki of the stray Claymore. "What is this? They give me three trainees and one ranked warrior? Are they trying to get us all killed?" The woman's voice was clearly agitated, though despite its harsh nature, she spoke fairly softly.

Stepping into the clearing, she called out, addressing Alerian. "You can come out now, I'm fairly sure they've noticed you." As Alerian made his way to the camp, the woman began introductions, addressing everyone present. "As I am sure you all know, the number 25 has been kidnapped, by unknown forces. This was the last place she was seen, and the Organization has determined that she is located somewhere in the desert. Just ahead a Caravan is waiting to take us across the desert, but before we begin, I would like to clarify some things.

The Organization has made it clear that this mission is for the four of you, though they mentioned that some others may join. This means that I will provide minimal assistance, and my primary role is to observe you. Now, for the introductions, I am the number 15 Fortune.
Ariel's smile grew wider as the woman stated that she would not be commanding the operation. Speaking softly, she gave her name and rank, her words brief, and her tone fairly smooth.

"Sorry babe, I guess I will be taking that face of yours"

Her next attack was lousy, it was a matter of making a big step on the side and turning the body to not get slash. The moment the sword will miss the target, Jacobs hand will attempt to...perform his not-yet-famous "Sacrament of Mask". Although he didn't had much time to heat up his hand, against an apponent in shock, it was a matter of strong grasp of his arm, imitating the power of hitting her with sledge hammer and making a precise turn, taking what was hers...

"Although it's a waste, I'm not really fond of using female faces" thought Jacob.

OCC : If the attack was to failed or in worse scenario, Jacob would get hit, he will try to distance himself from enemy.

Kaiserkreuz - February 19, 2008 05:30 PM (GMT)
When the rank 15 warrior ask Alerian to come he showed himself "Number 42 Alerian reporting" and waited for the warriors briefing of the mission he was dismayed to see that he was the only ranked warrior in the mission since the other one will just be observing but he didn’t make it show in his face and still look like cold and expressionless. When the warrior finished briefing them about the mission he ask "Since you will be just observing in this mission who will be the captain of this team? I won’t expect and accept that a trainee would lead in this mission unless we are testing their capabilities and since we will be investigating what happened to number 25 are we going to use covert operations to find her and eliminate the ones behind her abduction?” waits for number 15’s response to his questions.

Thinking to himself quietly ”What is the organization thinking number 15 would just be observing am I suppose to look after these trainees? I’m not their keeper.”.

Alanna had noticed something weird, but she had never expected it to be a Claymore. She silently admonished herself for not being able to pick up on his youki, but only her normal, bubbly attitude showed on her face. The only other ranked Claymore, Alerian, had introduced himself, so Alanna, one to jump at the chance to introduce herself, gave her name as well.

"Trainee Alanna, reporting!"

The time for introductions, however, was put on pause. Alerian's question had drowned out her introduction. The few that heard her let out a quiet laughs, but gave their attention to Fortune. It seemed obvious that it would be Alerian leading the mission, but sending 3 trainees on this kind of mission was surprising. Meaning that the choice in leaders could be as well.

Ludwig glanced at the new, apparently ranked, warrior approaching. He introduced himself as alerian and then asked a question about the leadership of the mission.
Ludwig kind of wondered that himself, the thought of sending inexperienced warriors on a rescue operation. "we probably aren't expected to find anything, that would be wonderful." he thought to himself even though he knew it was possible that they were meant as cannon fodder for the ranked warriors to hide behind.

Ludwig returned from his thoughts "Its more than likely the abductions already turned into a homecide." he said casually, "the only ones capable of kidnapping such a high rank would have no reason to keep her alive, not any reason i can think of anyway."

(Hopefully I got your skill right)

The Claymore gasped for air as Jacob's hand shot forth, clutching her face. The impact of the Yoma's strong arm against her fragile nose blew her backwards, quickly making the woman lose consciousness. Blood began to spurt at the edges of her face, where hair met skin as a ripping noise sounded, the skin slowly coming free. The woman's eyes bulged, popping free of their sockets. Blood streamed forth, covering Jacob's hand, and as the woman fell to the ground, a lifeless sack of flesh, a stray piece of paper drifted free from one of the many folds on her clothing.

The paper landed face up, its words exposed to the heavens.

To Leanne,

Your orders are to return to the False Organization as soon as possible. Tardiness will not be tolerated. From your position, the Town of Juron (Lets say Jacobs just left this town) head East for a few days. Destroy any Yoma you come across, for they are fiends, and soon you should reach the desert. A horse will be waiting there for you, to take you across the desert, to the headquarters.

Fortune simply laughed, her voice filling the air. The laughter was completely taunting, mocking the man before her. "I am your leader! Just because I won't be fighting, doesn't mean that I can't still command." With a mischievous grin, and a twinkle in her eye, she continued. "Though if it bothers you so much, I'll just have to appoint one of these trainees as the leader. You there! Alanna! For now you will lead this little band, and do your best not to get us killed. The experience should help you." Turning back to Alerian, she stepped forward. "But should you show yourself capable, then perhaps you can take her place."

"Now my friend, you made me curious" said Jacob while fixating the mask. The form of his changed shape and inserted the mask of the beaten woman. Yoma shapeshifting normally restricts his powers, but that minimal usage which is about the face mostly does not concern him.

"Oh, we can't let you lying like this - I think I will take those clothes of you. Also I will remove that flesh of yours - it must be really annoying for you to have all those squishy parts when you can't use them anymore. Honestly, simple bones are so much easier to hide" said to himself while searching for a good spot to peacefully take his meal and wear clothes of the woman. After getting full, he will proceed with the instruction on the list.

Kaiserkreuz - February 20, 2008 04:27 PM (GMT)
After Fortune finished her words in a mocking tone towards Alerian it didn’t bothered him and remained cool still on his cold and expressionless looks showing no signs of emotion towards the ranking female to make her disappointed in his reaction towards her mockery. ”If that is what you desire then there is no point in arguing with the matter. Then what is your plan captain?”

Thinking to himself quietly. ”As if I would fall for her petty taunts and mockery. What does she think of me a simpleton she must be joking.”

At the edge of some trees, not too far from the town of Gloren, a woman stood. Brown clothing was wrapped around her figure, her feet implanted in the desert sands. All that could be made out were two brown eyes, amber balls that glittered with impatience. "Where is she... even though she is one of them doesn't mean that she gets to make me wait..."

Peering into the trees, the woman attempted to make out something, hoping for any sign of movement. She was tall, and one hand tightly grasped the leather strap of a single horse, reigning the mare in. The horse occasionally let out a neigh, stamping its metallic feet on the ground, awaiting the comforting path of the woman. "She better hurry up, once I give her the horse, I'll be done here..."

(OOC Alanna's Computer Broke Down.))

Ariel barely managed to conceal a laugh as Fortune spoke, for the antics of the high ranking Claymore were amusing to the trainee. With a twinkle in her eye, she smiled at Fortune, recognizing an intelligent Claymore and giving the woman some respect. With a sigh, she stood, advancing forward, and stretching out. The tight uniform of the Claymores accentuated her curves, and as her hair gently drifted to and fro in the breeze, the woman could be described as nothing but beautiful.

Alanna, with a bubbly, nervous laugh, stood as well, speaking. "Well then, lets get going shall we?" Ariel, lifting her weapon from where it stood, she sheathed the great sword, and began to walk forward, following the footsteps of Fortune. Together, the group began to walk away from the campsite, the fire they created slowly dying away.

Soon, they came upon a place where the trees ended, the ground no longer dirt, but rather sand. It was as if a threshold stood before them, separating the sheltered world from the chaos of the short desert. Furrowing her brows, Fortune searched, looking for something, and upon seemingly finding it, nodded. "It doesn't seem to far away. Our travel shall be here soon."

Ahead, in the distance, the group could vaguely make out the shape of dust rolling forward, moving at a strangely fast pace. As the mound of dust drew nearer, the group noticed something. Three yoki signatures, alien, but most like that of a Claymore were concealed in the dust.

"Here is my another pray...or a chance for quick money" thought Jacob while walking, like in daze, approaching the woman in his new get up from the woman, which guts were really delicious.

"I'm..here..I needed..to kill. a yoma...but that doesn't matter - where is the horse ?" - said Jacob, adapting his voice to a female, with only one clue about his previous pray personality - that she was a freaking maniac. It's better to keep their dialogue short.

Duath - February 23, 2008 10:30 PM (GMT)
-Jacob-

The woman before him simply frowned, moving, her loose clothing swirling around her. It was obvious to the Yoma that she carried no weapons, though nonetheless, she possessed a fearsome aura. Moving to where the horse stood, she took the reins from a wooden post, and lead the beast towards Jacob. "You're more talkative than usual. No matter, this here is your horse. It knows where to go. Do you need anything else? Or can I finally leave."

The last bit of her speech was full of irritation, and she moved forward, sniffing at Jacob. The horse only looked on with calm eyes, awaiting the presence of a new master. The woman's actions startled Jacob, but as she leaned near, he could smell that she was a human, like any other.

And yet, there was something about her, something deliciously irresistible. It was as if her flesh was calling out, taunting Jacob with promises of a sweet taste. The aroma drifting from her skin was so enticing to him, that he could not help but lick his lips, a motion that was ever so quick. Eating this one would prove far tastier than the woman from before. Flicking her hair, the woman moved away, walking into the forest, away from Jacob. Should the Yoma wish to kill her, he would need to make his move then.

OCC : I hope I have eaten enough to pull that.

As far as she is delicious, disappearance of two of them would be too suspicious. Resist.. there will be more fun ahead.

Jacob simply noded, learning that maybe he talked to much right now - worthy info....and worthy flesh.

NO ! The previous one was handicapped by madness, this one is stronger - Jacob felt it. If he wants to survive, he needs to play his role. Like every other yoma who lives with humans.

Asking for additional directions would be too suspicious, yet maybe crucial.

..No, let's head east like it was in the note. We will see if it was worth it.

.:Alerian:.

He just followed the high ranking warrior to the location and waited for her orders. When he felt three concealed yoki in the desert he waited for Fortune's word before moving.

"As if I would let a mere trainee order me around good luck with her in doing that." thinks to himself.

-Lina-

Lina knew she was late. Terribly late at fact. But she didn't care much. After all, it will hardly affect her life anyways, and as for the mission. Why would she care in the first place? She is a trainee, not a ranked warrior, so the shouldn't be expecting some kind of magnificent performance to begin with. And considering they have sent her here... Sand is everywhere... Well, no wonder, it is desert after all. Then why the hell she is here? Because they sent her... Here is the problem. They send her here and expect her to work hard? What a joke. "This whole place can burn in hell together with citizens for all I care. Just do not sent me to the fucken desert. I'm sure you knew I hate it. Even so... Damn shitheads." If Organization wanted Lina too love them, they have surely chose the wrong approach.

Warriors who she was supposed to meet up with have already left the camp. Well, whatever. She can trace their yoki and whereby find where they went. Ah, they are not that far....

It took several minutes to catch up with them. She was sure, of of her "comrades" have noticed her.... Sand was everywhere. Her mood gradually became darker and darker...

Jacob mounted the great beast, the stallion's sides heaving up and down as it began to gallop in a certain direction. The hooves of the animal made little to no sound against the vast expanses of sand that stretched forward, but it seemed used to desert travel, galloping at a fast rate towards something in the distance. Jacob could see nothing save dunes in the distance, though he felt somewhat strange, for faint Yoki signals fluttered at the edge of his vision. And, it was hot.

Behind him, the woman whom he had left smiled, peering after his disappearing form. She traced a finger along the line of her neck and let out a short laugh. "I guess she really did survive. This perfume would have enticed any Yoma..." Shaking her head, she walked back into the forest, her destination unknown.

((OOC: Current Ranks are in effect, and Lina is going to be the leader that Fortune assigned.))

The Claymores felt Lina's presence as she approached, ignoring it for the most part. The four horses that were bearing down on them were of much more importance. Lina calmly slipped into the crowd, and Fortune gazed at her, looking her form over before speaking. "Scratch my previous statement. This newcomer will be our leader. Make sure to listen to her, Alerian."

The horses drew closer, and the Claymores could make out figures mounted on top, the glint of steel clearly visible. There was something foreboding about their appearance, for they didn't seem to be slowing down, and the warriors could make out the form of women seated on top. Ariel calmly looked forward, and spoke in a hushed tone: "Well, what do we do, leader?"

"My luck to pick up a girl who talks little, when I'm here to ask questions. Well, I haven't got anything better to do anyway - assasination request might wait, this will be fun" thought Jacob while continuing the ride.

To amuse himself and keep himself protected, Jacob was thinking from which points of this desert he could be attacked by this faint yoki..

Air ? Well, if it was yoma. He would deal with yoma, not a problem. Most yoma aren't really happy to eat each other.

Underground ? I bet no one would want to dig himself in this hot sand, a certain death-trap.

From the diunes ? Yeah, that would be good. But Jacob would hear the "heartbeat" before it appeared..well, it was other matter whatever he would be able to run away or dodge fast enough if it's a high-ranked warrior.

If it's someone who knows the girl, then it's better to not act unnaturaly. Better keep it cool...Jacob laughed. Keeping 'cool' in this heat was impossible, and Jacob hated heat. A lot, since it made his ability really weak.

A slight rumbling sounded, and the sand beneath the horses hooves shifted, sliding from side to side. The horse he was riding on was sweating profusely, and didn't look like it was in too good shape. Slowly, the beast began to slow, eventually coming to a stop. Still seated on the horse, Jacob could see the sand swirling wildly ahead of him, a torrent that forebode something awful. Again, the rumbling sounded, filling the air, and the horse let out a sound, as if waiting for Jacob to do something.

The beast shimmied around slightly, bucking slightly, attempting tell Jacob to get off of the him. His noises were frantic, and he moved about wildly around the area. If the beast was human, one could say that it was crying, desperately wanting to be free of the rider on his back.

"Useless beast, they were expecting her to travel on that ?" said Jacob. He seated from the horse and inspected if he hadn't got anything important on it - if he was to arrive without something valuable, it would be a waste.

Travelling on half dead beast was not only time wasting, but also dangerous as this beast would fall and make his rider fall any minute.

Jacob was a little paranoid this moment, he hated situation where his ace card didn't work. He concentrated to hear if any approaching hearts was nearby, or yoki. Both would work, as Jacob was strolling on the desert the direction he was pointed in, getting his cloak on him trying to minimize the heat damage or possible heat-stroke.

...damn, life cannot become more interesting.

As Jacob got down and inspected the horse, he found nothing of value. Obviously it was but a simple beast. The rumbling grew louder, and the Yoma could feel a large, but strangely unrefined, Yoki in the area. The sand shifted at a greater rate, and as Jacob moved away from the beast, the horse seemed to gain a boost of energy. Immediately it took off in the direction they had come from, galloping without ever looking back. The maneuver of the horse was strange, and surprised Jacob.

A few feet in front of the Yoma, a great vortex began to form, stretching far. It was at least 3 meters in diameter, and only by jumping backwards could Jacob avoid being engulfed by it. The rumbling was now deafening, overwhelming Jacob's senses. His cloak whipped around him, the false hair shining in the desert sun. He could feel the weight of the claymore at his back, as the sand before him started to fall away.

Suddenly, the sand exploded upwards, in a fountain of dirt, something shot out of the ground. Slowly, the sand fell away, revealing a hulking beast.

Its mouth was agape, fangs protruding out grotesque innards displayed. It was far bigger than Jacob, as the disguised Yoma only reached to one scale length of the larger one. The beast let out a monumental roar, the hard scales on its back glimmering. Turning its head, it let out a moan, and as it revealed its back, Jacob could see faint scratches, as if the beast had been fought before. It was almost as if hooks were protruding from the skin, but only a closer examination could tell.

Another roar sounded as it reared its head, preparing to attack and deal a swift death to the Yoma beneath him.

"Ah, giant worm, great said Jacob sarcastically to himself.

Examining the situation - he was bigger - well, dodging normally would be easier if it wasn't for the fact that beast is most likely quite flexible. Attacking at front could produce various results as his skin looked rather tough. The safe bet would be attacking his wounds but would he be fast enough to hit it ?

...No answered Jacob to himself

The plan is to examine his abilities. The sand was quite troublesome terrain to move around but it was important to dodge and maybe drag the monster from the hole or see how fast it can dig. Maybe drag him out of it, while he was on ground, he would be easier target.

The main idea of moving on sand is to make hard steps, like kicking the sand so one wouldn't slip or move balance. Also hands can be used. Jumping on right of Jacob, he would fall on his arms and then make a second jump from his arms, distancing himself from enemy.

..it would be also nice to see if that thing has something that resembles heart, although worms normally have only bags for blood.

Jacob moved at a blinding speed, rapidly pushing himself off to the right, bounding across the ground without pausing for a moment. And as he moved, the worm lunged forward, its teeth plummeting into the ground, causing it to explode in a great fountain of sand that scattered everywhere. Particles rained down on the earth, like rain coming from the heavens.

The beast only scrapped Jacob's leg, a wound that would not be of much pain at all to Jacob, though should sand enter it, it would prove most troublesome to the Yoma. In an instant, the worm had entered the ground once again,, though as he flashed by, Jacob caught site of the strange thing on the beasts back. Hooks seemed to be embedded into the worms hard skin, joined by a leather strap. A bit behind the hooks seemed to be an indent, large enough to sit in, and there were two more hooks in the skin.

Luckily, Jacob was safe for now, though he looked around, and beneath him, the vortex was again beginning to form, sand rippling out from under his feet.

- Jacob -

"Bastards, I am in no position for long fights" thought Jacob as he touched his "mask".

That one should be end quickly, the first thing what the worm will do when coming from the vortex is shoot his jaw up. If Jacob succesfully moves back and dodges it, he will use the moment the worm has yet again to locate him. The hooks...now that was the only bet he got.

After backing behind from the vortex and avoiding being grabbed by the worm (helping himself by bending his body if the worm went diagonally, to dodge it) he will jump at the worm and grab the hooks and strap.

It was long a long shot but only shot Jacob had and dragging any battle in this desert only favours the worm...

..but it seems the horse was the smart one.

QUOTE (Duath @ Mar 14 2008, 11:10 PM)

-Lina-

They have already moved out without waiting for those who were late. Firstly, she thought her comrades to be too hasty, unable to keep calm, that is essential for success in missions of this kind. From what she has heard from her Handler, the main objective was to find a member of organization dead or alive and to investigate some sort of mysterious organization, that supposedly was responsible for number 25's disappearance. Motives of those people were not that hard to understand, for their minds were most likely the minds of a humans, typical loathsome minds, drived by one and only desire; the only thing that made them think, move, plan and fight in one form or another was their greed, their hunger for power, the will to rule over other human, no less vile then their kings, just no as strong or foul.

Another possibility was that all of this was product of Yoma's unexpectable intelligence, the same kind with the one seen in Lina's training mission. It was not impossible for Yoma to seek the knowledge of warrior's body structure, that could potentially provide them the most important date - how to fight and kill their fated enemies. Lina had absolutely no idea about the possibility of such an experiment being successful, for she was never interested in this area of human wisdom; thus, she couldn't judge if this mission had any real meaning for organization or not. To determine this another root could be examined, and Lina decided to do that. After all, she was bound to start understanding who her comrades are and how strong they are, for this was the base on which the fate of the group standed on.

One Yoki caught her attention, being the strongest of all, and by far. She undoubtedly was high ranked warrior, and perhaps the head of the party. Other two were already familiar for Lina, as this two took part in the same training mission Lina graduated from, one as a watcher and another as a fellow trainee. Those two Lina was sure in - she saw them in action, so the level of their strength and their future performance could easily be predicted basing on previously collected data. The other two.... They were definitely weaker compared to the commander, but almost on the same level as other two. Interestingly, one peculiar trait could be noticed in their Yoki flow, if observed carefully. It seemed as if they were not completely confident in their own power, just as Lina was not so long ago. "Trainees? Here, in real mission? Maybe.... It seems strange. It is always possible for Organization to use them as cannon folder, just to make party look bigger.... Or it may mean that this mission is not important after all, and all my worries are in vain. Hopefully, it is so. But knowing my luck I'd better not rely on this possibility. So,I'll take only first one in consideration." Right when her thoughts reached their final stage, the powerful warrior have spoken.

"Scratch my previous statement. This newcomer will be our leader. Make sure to listen to her, Alerian."

"Eeee.... what? What a bad sign.... If my lucky star is visible now, I'll fucken cure it once more. Hopefully, it'll hear me. Because I freaken' hate this turn of events! The second version gets one more supporting vote.... Wait, I've sweared to not thing about it anymore.... So just erase it. And start thinking constructively."

"So be it, if Organization wishes so. I'm number 41, Lina. I'd like to know your ranks and specializations, so that I'd now how to use your strength in the best way. Even if I know you and have seen you fighting I'd still like to be aware of every little detail, especially if you have accomplished anything in the time after I had seen you last time."

"Well, what do we do, leader?" Just like the previous time, straight to business. Thats what Lina liked, although such a behavior is hardly good in slippery situations. But, this mission is hardly the case. So, it's all good.

"About the detailed plan let me think for a bit. When we get closer to the place of destination I'll tell you everything. For now, everyone shall put his attention level to maximum and observe surroundings with extreme caution. To be stupidly ambushed is the last wish of mine."

The four horses were getting closer and didn't seem to be slowing down. "Check point number one. I wonder what is "maximum caution" of every of you worth, comrades." Thinking this, Lina put her claymore of her laps, ready to attack, defend, or put it back should nothing happen.

Zyel - March 15, 2008 03:40 PM (GMT)
The sounds of twigs craking and heavy footsteps could be heard behind the four claymores. A man came running really fast towards them, disregarding everything in front of him. His yoki was quite peculiar since he was trying to suppres it to it's minimum but a great deal of it still could be sensed.

"Oi, wait up! This mission can't start without me!" he yelled at the others while still running towards them.

Jacob
------

Jacob turned, spinning across the sand, leaping away as the worm began to surface. The Yoma was right, for the larger monster shot upwards, his mouth agape, but far to slow to catch Jacob. Again, sands erupted, falling down, though some entered Jacob's open wound. It would prove most irritating to have grains of sand floating around in his body, entering through his mouth, his ears, his eyes, and that wound.

Deftly, he reached forth as the leather strap flew by, grating onto it with the tips of his finger. Using every muscle in his arms, he pulled hung onto the strap as the beast thrashed around, and eventually, Jacob was hanging right above the seat. The beast seemed to be strangely docile one Jacob grabbed on, for it was not entering the earth again, though its deafening roars never stopped. The other straps, now near Jacob's head were just big enough to fit his feet through, and with an effort, he could seat himself in the compartment.

The beast roared, arcing its back, nearly throwing Jacob off, and it peered at the ground. From Jacob's perspective, the beast seemed ready to enter the ground again, and he knew he could not survive beneath. So, he had two choices, stay on top of the worm, or leap off.

Gloren

The horses were almost upon them, each rider had a shining silver blade drawn in their hands, dark hoods concealing their faces. But from what the small group could tell, the figures seated on the beasts were women, women with strangely bright eyes. The weapons that they held were enormous, no smaller than the claymore wielded by the organization, and in some cases, slightly larger. From what the group could see of their eyes, no feelings of kindness were expressed. It was act, or be killed.

Letting out a sigh, Ariel seemed to disappear for a moment. And when the group could see her again, she was running towards the horses, silver eyes blazing with a cold fire. In her hand, her weapon was drawn, the silver surface shining in the desert sun. The horses were bearing down on her quickly, and rather than running away, she was headed straight for them. In an instant, she disappeared again, just as the horses were about to trample her, and all the group could see was an explosion of blood, as Ariel drove her claymore into the belly of one of the horses.

The beast skittered for a moment, and fell to the ground, crushing the rider beneath, though the fall would not be enough to kill the enemy. The other four horses continued ahead, charging straight for the group, ignoring their companion. Smiling, Ariel stood, and picked up her blade from where she had dropped it. Her shoulder had been dislocated, and with a grimace, she smashed her open hand against it, popping it back in place. Momentary pain flooded her, and then she turned to face her opponent.

Zyel - March 15, 2008 05:59 PM (GMT)
Milles was running towards his fellow warriors when he felt one of them using his yoki. It was quite far away from his but managed to see her in action, killing a horse. The horseman was crused by his fallen horse.

"Not bad woman. " yelled Milles at Ariel. "Though I can finish it even faster with only one hit!"

With still quite some distance between the group and Milles, it was hard to believe he could get some of the action after arriving there. He struggled to get there faster so his blade could taste some of the battle. His claymore was in his hands since he had been delayed by a couple of yoma so he stretched his right arm, his claymore being behind him and obliquely pointing toward the ground. It was a strange stance but that allowed Milles to deliver a fatal blow when he would get in combat range.

Kolox - March 15, 2008 07:14 PM (GMT)
- Jacob -

"Blasted insect, know your place - I am the superior race here !"

Jacob decided to stay on, leaping off not only would mean lost, it would open him to any attack the beast would perform. Firstly, the most and hardest priority was fitting his feet to those straps he saw. Jacob, as a yoma, didn't understand what claymore saids about "yoki manipulation", it was all about using all strenght or not.

..so he used as much strenght as possible...

Grabbing hard with his both arms and trying to get his body closest to worm to disable it movements, Jacob will fit his feets to the handles.

If successful, Jacob would lift his body a little, lose his right hand and..punch worm side as hard as he can and shout "Lay down" to show who is the boss here.

-Lina-

Ariel proved herself even more hasty then Lina herself, that was quite surprising, because Lina had considered her own behavior in such situation to be way beyond foolishness, and now even higher level in this area was reached just before her eyes. Great.

Someone was coming from behind, someone radiating the arrogance, someone who will most likely die very soon.... On other words, a comrade. One more record that Lina thought to be hers forever was just broken, the record of being terribly late. Not that Lina wanted to keep this two to herself. Actually, she was quite happy to give those to others. Such a kindness was always in her blood. Always.

As warriors got closer and closer, Lina's mood became worser and worser, for their appearance was way too familiar, and this was hardly one of the best news she has ever heard in her life. But, judging from the results of Ariel's actions, appearance was the only thing similar.

Now it was time to act: one of enemies was heading into Lina's direction, looking as if Lina's head was something she had been looking for for last 20 years and now she finally got a chance to get it. Lina plans were drastically different though. She prepared to attack the warrior the moment she rises her blade and strike her into abdomen with a thrust.

The plan for attack was simple, for Lina was going to take the advantage of being on the ground. When warrior prepares to attack Lina with downwards slash and rises her blade above her head, Lina would out 10% of her Yoki into her feet and accelerate into enemies direction, performing a upgoing thrust with her sword once in an appropriate distance. Should her enemy attack faster, Lina would try to avoid it, for Yoki in her legs would help her to move with a better speed, and then slice the enemy with a typical slash.

.:Alerian:.

After seeing Ariel moved hastily to attack one of the riders. "Oh well since it has come to this well might get to stretch out my muscles. *Yawns*. Well let see how good this cheap imitations are?"

Alerian moved to the rider who is on the farthest left as quick as the wind and when he was near his target Alerian performed his move Swallow Slash to kill the horse and make the rider fall to the ground so that he can fight it one on one.

Zyel - March 16, 2008 03:32 PM (GMT)
.:Milles:.

The man running towards his comrades became clearer as he approached them, but then again it seemes he was rather the shortest one in the group. As the group seemed closer, Milles's eyes flashed, turning into their golden color while he made a side step right and swung the sword upwards aiming for the head of the horseman who was heading right towards him.
