- Prologue -
The caravans were prepared, the dromedary were all prepared for the long journey. The cargo were shipped on the cart and two persons, a merchant and a hooded hunter, were sitting on the cart near a large wooden box with metallic supports. The camels were going slowly through sandy land..
..it was 4 A.M and sun just started to appear in the air, the coldness of night started slowly to disappear when they departure started. Fortunately, they trip will be short, only one full day - but unfortunately. Through the most dangerous area.
- Mission -
"
Greetings, I am Number 20 Rabant sent by chief Rimuto on a simple mission for those of you aspiring to be a Claymore soon." said the warrior who had two scabbards instead of normal standard claymore sword. His black attire which also shown lots of skin looking completely innapropriate for the trip they were about to go into.
Nothing more than dunes, sand and some kind of dead trees from time to time. The sand made little mountains that looked like they were waves on the sea.
"
Our mission is simple and I will not repeat myself - We were paid to protect this merchant caravan from potential yoma attack which occurs in this area - we are to execute any yoma approaching caravan, but our top priority is to protect both merchant and cargo - you will be assigned to one crate and one merchant, if anything happens to them, you automatically fail the mission"
The Merchants were preparing the camels for ride, each of them wearing a white robes which hid every part of their body. Each cart having one little lamp for starless and moonless nights on the dessert. Each cart had one big crate positioned in the middle of it - a cube of half and meter wide and high. Each camel having two bags on side - probably Merchants food supplies needed to survive this trip.
"
Every trainee and watcher are to approach me, I will assign you to the cart - If you have any questions, do it now - we won't have time for any later on"
- Yoma -
The morning, the night, the noon..that didn't matter. They lived in this part for long and this was another day of hunt in this deadly environment..but this time it was different, this time they were working, they had a 'target'
OCC : Upon approaching Rabant you also agree to participate in this mission, you will be assigned to the cart and merchant. After Rabant decides that no one else will join, the trip will begin.
Good luck and have fun.
OCC 2 : You can ask "any" question and request anything, different matter if Rabant will provide you with what you want.
Rabbit - February 2, 2008 10:11 AM (GMT)
Mara bowed her head against a sudden gust of wind that swept sand in her direction. Truly the elements were conspiring against her in this case and it was proving to be a mild annoyance as she could not see and had to blink the fine sand out of her eyes more than once. It was harsh and unforgiving, and the irony was not lost on Mara as she walked - it was what she would be expected to become. Well, that was just fine with her. She arrived just in time to hear the briefing from her now-familiar superior, Rabant, and saluted sharply when he had finished.
"No questions", she stated flatly, "the mission seems simple enough, and in these conditions..." her voice trailed off. There was not much else to say, it was the desert after all. Any enemies who approached would be seen from a long way off, even for a human. On the other hand, that was only on a good day. Knowing fate, some sandstorm would blow up near the end of their journey and force them to fight blind. Fate was cruel in that way, Mara had come to realise.
Kolox - February 2, 2008 12:09 PM (GMT)
Rabant looked at Mara expresionlessly, without showing everyone that this isn't the first they have met "Considering your special case, you will go in the very first cart - basically, your a head of the caravan. The Merchant you will be travelling with is called Bahir, he is a young but experienced paddler" he looked at Mara and added quietly "Don't be fooled by the appearance of this desert, what looks flat has actually a lot of curves to hide upon, as your job is one of hardest, we expect for you to perform excelently".
Rabant looked uneasy, not the same, confident hunter from the dark forest. Something was bothering him.
"If you have no further questions, your to go to your cart and prepare yourself adequately to the journey"
Reinard-fox - February 2, 2008 12:46 PM (GMT)
"Sand. A lot of sand. Way too much sand." Lina couldn't help being annoyed. "An opened space. Hell, it is a disadvantage. They can see us, and what's worser they can feel us. I wonder if there are any yoki reading specialists here. Because if not... Well, lets just hope that it will be bright today. No clouds. Darkness can kill us." Lina didn't like it. The disadvantages were obvious, as for advantages... Well, its a chance to test youself in a real battle. "Although i'd prefer something easier. Something with less sand." Lina puckered. Even though sand was not in her list of most hated things, she still were not satisfied. "Rain is better. When it is raining you do not feel tired, so you can fight as long as you want. Too bad... It's impossible here."
"Every trainee and watcher are to approach me, I will assign you to the cart - If you have any questions, do it now - we won't have time for any later on"
"Looks like it's time. I should avoid getting the first cart - that one is the most opened one and likely to be attacked. I'd better have neighbours at flanks. Oh, here is the first one." Right after the female Claymore finished talking to Rabant, Lina approached them.
Rabbit - February 2, 2008 01:16 PM (GMT)
Mara said nothing else, but nodded and turned to make her way to the cart. She had noticed Rabant was troubled about something but whatever it was, it was not part of the mission and thus, it was not her problem. Perhaps she would ask at a later time but others would be coming soon and it would provoke suspicion if there seemed to be something that Rabant was not telling them. Above all else, she was a soldier and if her commander chose to withold information from her, then who was she to complain? However, she wasn't mindless and would certainly be more watchful from now on, especially considering that there was something out there that gave the Organisation's Number 20 pause. Drawing her claymore, Mara inspected it for any flaws or damage incurred from the journey here, then sheathed it and proceeded towards the cart in front.
As she passed the carts she carried out a little inspection of her own, stealing sideways glances at the merchants when she thought no one was looking. It was probably just paranoia on her part but at this point in time, they could ill afford to have an enemy behind the gates when there were enough in front of them. If there were any yoma hiding amongst the caravan, she would try to find them. Her eyes settled last of all upon her charge - the merchant they called Bahir, in the caravan's first cart.
Bluedragon77 - February 2, 2008 04:19 PM (GMT)
Walking through desert in the early hours brought back memories of a time long ago when his father and grandfather was still alive. Though on a normal day it would have pained him, today and setting of the dry desert instead brought pleasant memories. Siegfried recalled having to train and live in this coarse environment where sand was present everywhere, even in the food.
Chuckling a little Siegfried walked to the designated area. The desert though harsh was a welcome place for Siegfried. He had many experience in fighting in this harsh environment where the heat and cold were your enemies and the sands will find themselves in just about anywhere where there is space available. It was almost like coming back home. Siegfried knew enough about deserts that looks can always be decieving and the climate and terrain would provide excellent ambush even in the most perfect weather conditions. He only hoped his comrades will know this. In the Desert nothing is as it seems.
Seeing the upcoming caravan and the gathered warriors, Siegfried quickly and swiftly made it to the group without anyone noticing. Unfortunately that wasn't the case with Rabant. Walking over to Rabant, Siegfried gave a solute and stood ready to recieve his orders.
Kaiserkreuz - February 2, 2008 04:58 PM (GMT)
.:Alerian:.
After recovering from the wounds he received from the first training mission he volunteered to join the 2nd training mission as a watcher and to improve his skills more specially in yoki reading. The area was desolate, hot and very lonely to look at because you can only see sand, dead plants and some cacti in the area that made up the scenery. Thinks "Such a desolate place that bores thy ones journey on this place called a desert where one can only see sand and sand alone while being under the harshness of the blazing sun during the day and the extreme cold during the night. I wonder why how some animals can adapt to such a harsh environment and finds their means of survival if they can survive here so that means that yomas can also adapt and survive such environments such a very bothersome, savage and ravenous monsters that roam this lands how annoying."
When he heard Rabant's command to come near him to be assigned on their designated post Alerian complied to the order."Number 42 Alerian reporting and awaiting orders Sir. Can I ask a question Sir if the trainees I'm watching failed in preventing a yoma from getting near a client then I'm to do the necessary action in preventing it in slaying the client? awaits Rabants reply to his question.
Kolox - February 2, 2008 05:14 PM (GMT)
- Rabant -
Two watchers and him. That should be enough. He recognized the warriors from the previous mission - the only one which actually encountered that yoma and survived.
He faced first the hunter who introduced himself
"Alerian, your going to the middle cart with the merchant Basil, he is the oldest one from them so be careful. As for your question goes..no. You are not to act, unless the trainee died or is powerless to perform any actions. If he dies, you may act and you are assigned to two carts then"
Then he turned to saluting warrior.
"Siegfried, was it ? I remember your reckless behaviour from previous mission - your to go with last cart, so don't go astray. The merchant your going with is actually a woman called Maria, so you too be extra careful about her"
Then he stepped back a little and said "I think it will be wiser if I went alone before you - 3 ranked claymores, low or not, should be able to handle organization. Merchant knows where they are supposed to go, so you just needed to concentrate on guarding. Assign trainees to the carts and be quickly on your way. That is all"
He made a polite gesture with his head and went to prepare himself for a trip.
Kaiserkreuz - February 2, 2008 07:14 PM (GMT)
.:Alerian:.
When Alerian received his orders from Rabant he then immediately went to Basil and talked to him. "Hello Mr. Basil I will be the one assigned to guard and watch you in this travel. Can I ask you if you have some spare clothing the one that you merchants are wearing so that I can disguise myself as one you merchants so that I can guard and watch you more easily. It's preferably the ones that females uses so that I can hide my face specially the eyes if it doesn't bother you at all." then awaits Basils reply.
Kolox - February 2, 2008 07:30 PM (GMT)
- Lina -
Rabant approached her and looked at her. Seems he was a guy hard to please.
"New recruit, your going to the second cart, behind Mara" he pointed at the warrior which already left
"Your going to be working with Samson - it's the big merchant there - he went through this lands few times, survived a yoma attack. He shouldn't be hard to handle. That will be all unless you have some questions"
- Alerian -
"Ah yes, anything that will help our helpers - please, please, wait a minute - Basil took one of his bags from the camel. Seems he had 4 spare robes, probably since people sweat a lot, they feel like changing - especially an old man like this. "I don't know it it will be of much of help and if the size will be good, but please feel free to use it"
Kaiserkreuz - February 2, 2008 07:56 PM (GMT)
.:Alerian:.
When he received some spare clothing from the merchant. "Thank you for your help Mr. Basil and I'm sorry for imposing upon you." Then he removes so of his armor and hides it in the cart and puts on the robes and removes the knot on his hair making himself look like a female from afar and puts on a head dead that hide his face and a veil to hide the eyes.
"Now how do I look does the disguise work or something is missing. What do you prefer me to pretend a wife or a daughter?" imitating a female voice and ask Basil's opinion while hiding his claymore in the cart.
"Now to hide my yoki before they send in the trainees I'm supposed to watch."
OCC:Looks like one of those arab women who hides their faces and eyes.
Reinard-fox - February 2, 2008 08:11 PM (GMT)
-Lina-
"I shall ask him for permission to take additional weapons. The better i perform here the higher my chances of graduating are. And then all the hell of trainings ends. But the hell of war begins then... not much of improvement, huh."
"I have one request if it is OK with you, Sir. For the best use of my strength I prefer to fight with Daggers. Am I allowed to use them in this mission?" Lina waited for reply smiling to herself. Whatever the outcome of this mission is, the darkness will not fade away. It has become her satellite and will follow her till the end of her life.
Kolox - February 2, 2008 08:25 PM (GMT)
- Lina -
Yes, you can be supplied with daggers - I think it wouldn't be a problem to get me up to 5 throwing daggers and two daggers for close combat"
Rabant made some gesture at one of the merchant. That was the one Lina was assigned to, Samson, he was tall man, about two meters high with muscular body which could be seen even under those loose robes. Rabant murmured something to Samson and faced Lina again
"All what I just said can be brought to the cart your going to protect - are you fine with that ?" Rabant stared at Lina with his emotionless eyes, it seems he wanted to get over this as soon as possible.
Reinard-fox - February 2, 2008 08:35 PM (GMT)
-Lina-
"Yes, I perfectly fine with this. I humbly thank you." When finished her sentence, she walked to the tall guy named Samson. She wanted to know the places where attack was to be awaited, and he, who survived in a battle against Yoma in the past, could give her necessary information.
"Hello, my name is Lina, it seems that I'll be responsible for your life and property in this journey. I would like to ask you something: where did Yoma attacked you last time? It would help a lot if you warned me about dangerous places before we'll be reaching them - the more cautious I am the smaller are chances of surprise attacks."
Kolox - February 2, 2008 08:58 PM (GMT)
- Lina -
Samson bend his whole body to match with Lina's vision. He took a deep breath and started to talk, slowly, with his deep, sad voice.
"We went a mile after the first oasis - they call it the Ashura track. They went down from the skies..I opposed but was hit..they decided to not eat me...after they were full, they flew back into the skies..leaving only bones.."
He was forcing himself to every word he said..not giving out much of details.
Reinard-fox - February 2, 2008 09:14 PM (GMT)
-Lina-
"A flying enemy is freakin' troublesome...Espectially if sandstrom occurs. Thats some bad news." As she thought it, she got annoyed more and more. Mixture of fear, excitment and inpatience affected her so much, that she almost started to tremble. "I kindly thank you. No need to say anymore." This was more then enough. No more info is needed. Lina checked the place where Daggers were put, so that she'll be able to take them when needed. Now she was prepared to start the journey.
Rabbit - February 3, 2008 12:57 AM (GMT)
Behind Mara, the rest of the trainees and watchers alike were getting into their assigned positions in a reasonably efficient manner. She appeared impassive and distant as always as she oversaw the final preparations for the caravan. The more they stayed in this location, the more she got a bad feeling about their chances of survival - a lot of unpleasant things could happen to those who lingered too long in the desert. She was actively practicing her Occultation here and attempting to dampen her yoki - other than that, she was another trainee. Nothing more, nothing less. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed one of the newcomers talking to her charge about something, but she was out of earshot and could not pick up exactly what was being said.
"We should move soon", Mara said aloud to no one in particular.
Bluedragon77 - February 3, 2008 07:39 AM (GMT)
Siegfried soluted agian and walked to the back of the caravan. Travelling past all the other carages getting ready for the journey ahead, Siegfried spotted the lone carriage in the back. Walking over to the last carriage Siegfried noted that as the last carriage in the back it will be open to attack. Why would they place a woman in the back? Could this be Rabant's way of keeping me in line?
Figuring he could worry about that later. Siegfried walked up to the carriage he spotted a woman preparing for the journey ahead. "Good morning miss, I am Siegfried Schtauffen. I will be accompanying you on this trip today." Siegfried calmly introduced himself and gave a small bow to be polite. He raised back into a standing position.
Kolox - February 3, 2008 07:47 AM (GMT)
The team of six claymores went with six cart caravan. Mara was at front, Lina behind her, another trainee was in third cart, Alerian was in the middle, another trainee was in the back and last was Siegfried. The formation was a straight line, with Mara being a little more on front than others
[OCC: Two trainees are the claymores that might wish to join later, or they are just NPC I will control]
Rabant went some time ago by himself, investigate the desert. Through the land, the sand seemed to never ending. The wind stronger and heat more painful.
Those who still wore they armour were experiencing quite a bothersome sensation of hot metal touching their body. Not that Claymore couldn't withstood that pain, yet it was quite bothersome.
The Merchants knew what they were doing and they were quite silent. Some shown that they are quite scared of silver-haired huntresses and hunters, others just kept silent and were glad that this time they have some chances of survival.
...the enocounter was faster than they expected.
Three yoma were on the land, they skin was different than the other yoma they met - grey yellow, like the sand - they almost looked like the sand itself. There was another caravan, but this one didn't make it..seems the yoma were just finishing their meal.
They still haven't noticed the caravan, but Mara already noticed them and merchant Mara was travelling it made a gesture probably saying "STOP" to all other carts.
Reinard-fox - February 3, 2008 08:31 AM (GMT)
-Lina-
The merchant in front of Lina made a gesture - "STOP". "Something is wrong, deffinitely. Isn't it too early? We are yet to reach the place Samson was talking about. But, well, Yoma are free to chose where to eat." Preparing for upcoming battle, Lina groped the Daggers, lying under the tarpaulin, that was covering the cart. It's always better to decrease the number of enemies, before they reach you, isn't it?
Rabbit - February 3, 2008 12:21 PM (GMT)
Something caught Mara's eye - something moving amidst the dunes. The merchant she was guarding had caught her look and had ordered the caravan to stop. There were Yoma, feeding on the remains of some unfortunates who had run afoul of the desert. It did not seem that the Yoma had noticed them yet, being too intent on finishing their current meal. They had the element of surprise, if only for a few moments, and they could easily take them unprepared if they moved quickly enough. On the other hand, this would leave the caravan unguarded and that she could not allow. As much as she wanted to simply move and destroy them all, there were other lives at stake here besides her own, that she had been ordered to protect.
"Dammit...this is such a bother."
Her hand reached back to the claymore strapped to her back but she did not draw it. She signalled back to the others - "WAIT. BE ALERT."
Kaiserkreuz - February 3, 2008 02:22 PM (GMT)
.:Alerian:.
When Alerian heard the order to halt and saw the unfortunate caravan he told Basil to hide himself in the cart with the items."Mr Basil I think it would be safe if you hide under your wares inside the cart and I'll pretend to be the merchant since it seems we have encountered some trouble on our way." Alerian keeps and eye on Basil while senseing if the are more hidden yoma in the area then he prepares to draw the sword he had hiden in the cart behind him if the yoma found them and the trainees where unable to defeat the monsters.
thenecessity - February 4, 2008 02:41 AM (GMT)
ooc: joining in now
-------------------------------------------------------
Yet another yawn... This was just too boring for him. In times like this, he would just lie down, waiting for something to do. It does not matter how important the mission was, he would start getting tired of it.
A slight movement disturbed him. Almost instanteously, the cart stopped, causing him to fall off, landing on his right side. With a grunt of annoyance, he rolled over onto his back, and grabbed the side of the cart, pulling himself back to his feet. Now that he was standing, he really started feeling the heat. He looked over at the merchant, knowing something was happening. The look he gave the merchant should have been clear. Stay close. Looking around the cart infront of him, he saw the two others situated infront of him. Their names could not be recalled at the moment, but it did not matter. All that did was that they were both tense, they had seen something he had not.
Pulling his two identical shortswords from their scabbards, he tensed his muscles, preparing for what was coming.
Kolox - February 4, 2008 06:00 AM (GMT)
- Situation -
One Yoma just finished his meal when he turned his back and saw something glittering. It was sunlight reflecting from the metal on the crates.
"We have company - free food for another week I guess" said while chuckling.
The two other yoma stopped their meal and looked in the direction of caravan. They didn't wait for invintation, they rushed hoping for something more juicy than they just have eaten.
Bluedragon77 - February 4, 2008 07:24 AM (GMT)
Siegfried had helped the woman a little to pack up the crates into the back of the carriage. Once the journey began, Siegfried had wanted to ask the woman her name earlier but they were running out of time so he helped the woman instead. Now that he was sitting on the carriage next to the woman he decided to ask her name. "Excuse me miss. I'm sorry for asking so suddenly but may I know your name. It will help if something were to happen." Siegfried turned his head slightly and looked at the woman.
Noticing that the first carriage stopped and the proceeding carriages came to a halt, Siegfried braced himself for the abrupt stop. "Like this..." Siegfried stood up and looked into the distance and spotted the yomas. As his job as a watcher he was not suppose to interfere unless the situation calls for it for it since it was the trainee's job, so he stood there one hand to support himself on the carriage and the other blocking out any interfering sun light and waited. While Siegfried was waiting he began to reach out with his senses to search for any other yoki signatures around them.
Kolox - February 4, 2008 07:40 AM (GMT)
- Siegfried -
The woman was a little surprised with Siegfried suddenly talking and then suddenly getting out of the cart, but she closed her eyes and then look at Siegfried with serious look
"You should go help your friends, I'm not scared - they call me "Maria the daughter of dessert" - I have yet to be hurt by what had gave birth to me, I will be all right"
Reinard-fox - February 4, 2008 09:37 AM (GMT)
-Lina-
"Oh, so they are finally coming. Now, what do I do. I can't leave my cart, because then a human will be left undefended. So I'll wait for them to come. As soon as they reach the first cart I'll through a couple of my Daggers at them, it should make thing at least a bit easier for both my neighbour and I." Lina looked a Samson - he looked nervous. Ha, saying that he looked nervous is like saying that tsunami is just another tidal wave. "Samson, can you please hide in the cart. It'll make things easier for me. This way they'll have no choice but to come for me before searching for real food." Lina grinned - she imagined him bending his huge body in half to be able to actually hide there.
Fear was no longer with her; only anger and excitement left. Good. This mood fits for battle.
Kaiserkreuz - February 4, 2008 10:04 AM (GMT)
.:Alerian:.
When he noticed that the yomas have felt their presence and coming to them he ask Basil to hide in the cart."Basil hide in the cart quick it seems that the monsters have felt our presence and coming this way." watches carefully on what the trainees are going to do in this situation and prepares himself to draw the sword and attack if a yoma managed to get near the cart he's protecting.
Thinks quietly "What will you do in this situation trainees?"
Rabbit - February 4, 2008 12:10 PM (GMT)
Making a sweeping motion with her hand, Mara motioned for Bahir to get behind her. She couldn't afford to worry about anyone other than herself at the moment (and possibly her comrades, since she was ordered to protect them as well). Seeing the Yoma charging in her general direction, she drew her claymore in a swift motion. Her eyes blazed as they caught the cruel and unforgiving sun, becoming golden in colour and more like those of the beasts she was made to hunt. As they hurtled across the sand towards the caravan, she walked slowly towards the trainee nearest to her, as if saving her energy for the coming fight, and ran the blade of her sword across the ground as she walked. When she had finished tracing the line in the sand, she turned to regard the trainee. There was no hint of an expression on her face.
"Shall we make this interesting? Try not to let them cross this line."
Reinard-fox - February 4, 2008 12:23 PM (GMT)
-Lina-
"Shall we make this interesting? Try not to let them cross this line." - the Claymore said. Lina took two trowing draggers in her hands. "It'll become interesting even before they reach us."- she grined - "Please, let me fight alone for now. I want ot test my blades." She looked at Mara, waiting for reply.
Bluedragon77 - February 4, 2008 02:22 PM (GMT)
"I'm sorry Lady Maria. My other priority is to be a watcher. I'm suppose to observe the trainee's and let them handle the situation. If you don't mind can you bring this carriage beside the others. I may need to borrow your clothes. I think I may have a plan." Siegfried stayed standing but instead of the yoma he looked for the closest watcher.
Spotting Alerian, Siegfried shouted out "Hey sir Alerian!" to get his attention. Once he was sure he had Alerian's attention, Siegfried used hand signals to message him.
'Hey Sir Alerian. I have a plan. Tell Lady Mara to gather the caravans up front and let's make a defensive circle. Than gather all the merchants up and we will discretely cart them off a short distance away. Lady Mara and I will gaurd the merchants. Since you are dressed up you will act as bait, if you don't mind. Gather the clothing from the other merchants as their scent will lure in the yomas and with the extra clothes we can make a 'dummy merchant group' and you will provide the voices. You are essentially a lure. The trainees will than just defend you. This also leaves less chances of casaulties if it is just the four of you there. That way if they fail to protect you. You can act accordingly.' Siegfried stopped making hand signals as that was giving him a cramp and looked to see if Alerian caught any of that.
Kaiserkreuz - February 4, 2008 02:41 PM (GMT)
.:Alerian:.
When Alerian heard Siegfried's plan "Keep your voice down I'm disguising also to trick the trainees and not only the yoma ok if I can't fool the trainees how can I fool the yomas. Ok you want me to act as bait it's fine with me but if the trainees fail to protect me and forces me to fight the yoma's then they fail their mission and will not receive a rank but well that fine with since it will be challenging to the trainees." then Alerian goes to where Mara is and tells her about Siegfrieds plan in luring the yomas in and elliminating them.
"Hope this works since if I kill the yomas the trainees wont graduate and receive a rank."
Rabbit - February 4, 2008 03:03 PM (GMT)
Mara heard the trainee's request and simply shrugged, "If that's what you want." Turning, she listened carefully as Alerian explained the plan to her. It was difficult to say whether it was a good idea or not - if the line broke then the carts would be lost and they would all fail and if the merchants were killed, then they would still all fail. Separating the two did not seem to be a good idea, but then it would only reflect badly on her if she did not do all she could to ensure that the plan was successful. It did not occur to Mara that her thoughts were the least bit selfish or harsh - all people, whether they are warriors or not, must learn to accept responsibility for their own actions. For now, best not to cast doubt on the situation.
"Form up the carts! Defensive line! NOW!" Mara shouted as she walked off to the left. The trainee with the throwing daggers seemed eager..."Well you will certainly get the chance to prove yourself. Have fun."
Reinard-fox - February 4, 2008 03:41 PM (GMT)
-Lina-
Lina looked in the face of her comrade, Mara. She seemed quite confident.
"Form up the carts! Defensive line! NOW! Well you will certainly get the chance to prove yourself. Have fun."
"Ow, thanks! But wait! We can't waist time on forming a defence using carts now, Yoma will be hear earlier then we are ready! We have to something more simple. Lets just form a two line defence using only our Claymore forces - trainess will form a front line, the closest to Yoma, and ranked Claymores - the second line, the one closest to merchants. We can do it fast, and this defence is solid, as Yoma will need to penetrate two lines of defence before attacking humans." Saying this, Lina took two Daggers for a close range use and put them under the belt. Now she was prepared to fight after throwing her Daggers in attacking Yoma. "Also, I have tree more throwing Daggers in this cart. Do not hesitate to use them if you ever need." Lina said to Mara. "We have no guarantee that this few Yoma are only once waiting for us. There may be more coming from different directions. It's always good to decrease the number of enemies before they got close to you."
Rabbit - February 4, 2008 04:28 PM (GMT)
"Too late", Mara replied, "they've already seen us and they're coming this way. We're too spread out as it is. Time's up."
Mara took up a position on the reserve line, stretching her senses out for any more enemies. If there was anything else lying in wait in this forsaken wasteland, she wanted to know about it.
Reinard-fox - February 4, 2008 04:41 PM (GMT)
-Lina-
"Too late, they've already seen us and they're coming this way. We're too spread out as it is. Time's up." - Mara was ready for the attack, ready for the battle, ready to spill blood, even her own. "Well, we at least can organise this simple formation. The caravan is not that big, we'll make it in time. Hopefully." - Lina replied and then shouted loudly - "All the trainees come to me, all the merchants - gather behind this lady, all the ranked warriors - defend merchants! Hurry up, we are short on time!" Lina smirked. Now she could only hope that the'll forgive her behaviour.... although if she dies here, it won't matter."1 on 1 will sure be a bother. It would be best if we could make one Yoma "skip" the front line so that it'll get slayed by my more experienced comrades whithout us wasting time on it and then we'll have only 2 Yoma left to deal with. Trainees should be able to do at least this much."

"Form up the carts! Defensive line! NOW!" Whoever was yelling apparently knew what they were doing. He could sense the Youma, but still, thats all he could do, nothing else. The amount of them would be a mistery until he learned how to sense them better. Directing this to the merchant, "Go to the others, now..." Alban's command was serious enough. He did not want to be forced to watch for the human. All he needed to worry about was killing all of the youma, and that would ensure their safety.
"All the trainees come to me, all the merchants - gather behind this lady, all the ranked warriors - defend merchants! Hurry up, we are short on time!" Who in the hell had the right mind to command him to do anything. It was not like they were ranked yet. He was completely clueless as to the ranked claymores present. Nevertheless, he went their anyway. Apparently a plan was being made, and he needed to be in on it. Not wasting any time, he ran around the cart infront of him too the one who had shouted. I'm a trainee... Finally seeing the youma from this position, anger slowly filled him. He started releasing his yoki, concentrating it in his arms and legs. His wrist muscles bulging as his grip on his swords tightened. "Lets kill them allready..."

- Mara, Alerian, Siegfried -
The defensive line was started to appear quite quickly - the camels are no racing horses, but the merchant lived on this dessert long enough to know the drill themselves. Alerian, to keep his disguise, help with the carts too. Siegfried and Mara were looking around, in the surroundings.
The desert was only the yoma which already were approaching the trainees and the destroyed caravan. Other than that, there was nothing - although the mountains of sand could hide someone someone, but they didn't sense anything. Mara and Siegfried were already good at sensing yoki - both of them knew what kind of power yoma emmits..even a far stronger yoma. The yoma they dealt with before was stronger than those three all toghether, but they weren't to be understimated.
Instead of a line, the merchant made a double line, hiding in the middle. The three watchers were prepared for anything.
- Lina and Alban -
The three yoma stopped about 5 meters from them. Lina saw Alban approaching to the 'don't pass' line, but she didn't look at him - she concentrated on her opponents - but it's not Alban was seeking any attention - he was just hear for good old-fashioned Yoma-slaughter.
The terrain was sandy and it would restrain sudden movements, but what both trainess already noticed, that it didn't restrained yoma from running. While you run on sand, your bound to lose balance..they didn't. They movements had something of a dance - well placed small jump and not keeping themselves too long in one position.
It was 8 a.m - it wasn't very hot yet and the sun was on their left side, not hindering vision of both Yoma nor Claymore.
The three Yoma looked at their opponents and laughed
"Look at them Jazznot, they barely stand on it" said the one in the middle
"That should be easy, Jazzmit" replied the one on the left
"Less talking, more killing" said the last one on the right.
They spread. One runned from the right flank, making the little circle coming at Alban, another did the same but at Lina, from the left. The middle yoma was coming slowly, shortening the distance between him and trainees.
The fun was about to begin
- ??? -
A fight, somewhere far from her territory. That wasn't part of her gang. Well, doesn't matter - it already gave her an idea where they were.

-Lina-
Three Yoma were attacking.... And only two of trainees were ready to fight. "Where is another one?! If it's 2:3 we are dead meat! Oh well, lets just hope she'll get here in time. No use worrying now. So, which one do i attack... If it was to be the left one, we'd get separeted and the middle one will be able to make 2:1 battle. We can't let that happen. So, i have to attack the middle one - in this case another trainee and I will be near each other and will be able to help each other. Also, if the third Yoma was to join the battle he'd found a group of ranked claymroes behind him - and they have my projectiles. So, i guess, it'll be the center one." Lina looked rigth - another trainee was ready. Yoma was approaching him. "Now, its time". She throw a Dagger at rigth-flanged Yoma, trying to create an opening that her comrade could attack. Right after that, she started her own attack. The sand was hardly as comfortable as ground to move on, and she was worried about it making her unstable during the fight, but.... It's not the time for doubts anymore. She thow her second dagger at her enemy, getting a hold of two daggers she had for close combat. Now, time to kill.

There they were... the goddamn bastards. The outside occurances were completely gone for Alban. It was a problem he would have to handle later, but for now, all he wanted to do was kill some youma. With a sudden burst, he dumps all the yoki he can control into his arms and legs. And considering his ability to control it, it is quite a bit. The tempt of going past the limit was there, but his willpower overpowered it. The three youma seperated, the two on the outside going directly for the two trainees, and the middle one trying to breakthrough the two of them. The one that will die first is coming straight to him... Something flew past him towards the one running straight at him. With a jolt of energy, Alban took off after it. It did not matter what it did. Whatever happened, Alban would just slaughter it. He yelled in anger, to try and release some of the tension.
