Just wanted to let people know that I am refereeing the Special Olympics down at Johnny's Rink... It's a great experience and I personally think EVERY rink should try to support it as much as possible!!

I agree Justin, I got the chance to referee 2 meets this year for Special
Olympics and hope to do more. My rink hosts an invitational every year for
Special Olympics and I get a lot of my team to participate, from referees, to
placement judges, to lap counter or score keepers.

I understand that they may be taking Roller Skating out of Special Olympics
in our Area, I know the coaches and staff at our rink have sent letters to
the board requesting Roller Skating stay a part of the Special Olympics
Program in Pennsylvania - there are a lot of Great people and athletes that
benefit from this program - as you saw on SATURDAY. There excitement
when they finish the race no matter if they finish 1st or Last is awesome !!
High Fives, HUGs and Handshakes for everyone - no matter if your teammates
or opponents - everyone is just happy to be there and competing.
