No. PJ is not changing the ending of the books - I hope!
I just wanted to say, I've come across a contest to win tickets for the RotK premier (here in Argentina). It has no date set up yet, but I'm not even sure it's gonna be before it comes out in the US (it comes out here on January 1st).
Anyway, in order to win the tickets, you must provide an alternative ending to the trilogy.
I dunno, when I read that I had conflictive emotions.
First, I was happy cause it'd be a chance for me to see it before many others (Bwahahahaha!)
Second, happy too because even if they do the marathon here (it hasn't been confirmed yet :rolleyes: ) I can't go! :cry2:
Third, I was kinda.. annoyed, by the fact they made you change the ending. I mean, for me the ending of the books is just the one. Poor Prof. Tolkien.. LoL! :P

But then, maybe I can think of something original and send it.. I'm sorry Prof. Tolkien!! :P
I still have to think of something though..

Heh, indeed @ the question. Don't read further if you don't want to know the ending because by thinking up endings, you'd know what happens eventually.





** Possible Spoilers **






1. Frodo dies before the Ring is destroyed and brought to a place where no one knows of. Sam did not manage to destroy it neither. Gollum finds it and an orc fights him for it. Eventually the two of them fell into the fires, destroying the Ring and all. Sam lies devastated, and refuses to leave because "Mr Frodo is still around!" Eventually he dies of old age looking for Frodo's body. The other as per book.

2. Gondor and Rohan overthrows Mordor before the Ring is destroyed and Gandalf takes an eagle and aid Frodo and Sam in destroying the Ring. Alas, Gandalf got tempted so near Mount Doom, took the Ring and became powerful. Sam and Frodo dies, along with the Fellowship, Gondor and Rohan army. Gandalf and Sauron meet face to face and fight. They all fell into the fires. The women and children of Gondor and Rohan (and Faramir, Eowyn, MERRY!) live life as per.



I feel like a weirdo for the deaths.

LOL! Did you notice how many times I used the word 'something' :P

Actually, I don't even know if you're supposed to write it, or just do as you did P...
I need to go to the website and check the rules...

ETA: I just saw the rules! You have to write it, truly. In 100 words or less. And it has to be creative, with good grammar, and stuff (but it's in Spanish so that won't be a problem). I have til December 15th.
