LotR Soundtrack: Fellowship Of The Ring & The Two Towers

Inspired in my Musical Appreciation class I decided to make the apprecation of the 1 Cd of the Three that form the trilogy of Howard Shore Soundtracks. Leave your comments, opinions and appreciation here.

No doubt howard Shore is the contemporary genius of instrumental music, he is just a mastermind. in this 1st Cd the introduction to the Middle Earth World he actually tkes you there with the simple fact of listening to his music while closing your eyes and feeling it. it is amazing how he can miz the tension of the battle or escape with the soft, caring harmony moments of the hobbits or the elves. Actually I feel speechless by this work, and me as a Soundtrack Scores fellow Collector consider this the 1st one and favourite in my list.

porbably my favourite songs in the cd are:

- Concerning Hobbits, that I think is one of the masterpieces of the Cd and consider the one that fills you of hope, and reminds you exactly of how the Shire life is, smooth, quiet and happy. No doubt this track can remind you of the moments before Frodo leaves The Shire to bear the ring, when he is still oblivious o he real situation. The violin sounds just perfect and it has an obvious air of Scottish/Celt inffluences, which I love on it since the hobbits could represent really well the celts. Adding to it that it can ALWAYS remind you of the faithful Samwise Gamyee(in the hppy tones) and then to the thoughtful and shy Frodo (in thje low tones). no doubt this track always makes me smile and turns a cloudy day into a bright and shiny one.

The Black Rider, is probably my 2nd favourite after Concerning Hobbits, at first it starts with the little adventure of the hobbits in the shire outskirts then to pass to the escape from the black rider at night in the brandivine, dramatic and kinda scary by the chantings in the song that make of it amazing.

A Knife In The Dark, is it my impression or I like all the songs related to Nazgul? Well, i think this is awesome, so strong at the start and how it fades in the end.

The Breaking Of The Fellowship is at least for me the hymn or main soundtrack of the movie and what makes you recognize it with the singlest tone that you hear of it. Another song that reminds you of Sam's loyalty and hope in Frodo's mission. (aww.. I feel like crying... I love Samwise) and reminds me of Gandalf's Words: All you have to decided is what to do with the time that is given to you. *cries* Or my fave's Samwise's quote: Don't you leave him Samwise Gamyee, and I don't mean to, I don't mean to.

May it Be, of course, since Enya's voice is unique and it prints the true LOTR atmosphere to the end of the movie. That woman is to admire.
