Title: The Hobbit: the trailer.

A trailer for a film version of The Hobbit that has got many Rings fans excited has been created by a fan.

US fan Steve Latham wants to work in the film industry, so he cut together a trailer for an imaginary film to show off his talents.

He used bits of The Fellowship of the Ring and an old film called Dragonslayer and mixed them together.

He even gave it a release date - 19 December 2006 - and used the same style of text as the current Rings trilogy.

The trailer does look and sound really good, although having no words in it is a bit of giveaway that it's not real.

With the amount of money the Rings films have made, it is likely that we'll see a film of The Hobbit one day - but perhaps not as early as 2006.

Is anyone as thrilled as I am?
Or shall we take it with a grain of salt?

Oh, I saw that one!!
I was thinking it didn't seem like a real one, but it'd be interesting if PJ actually did The Hobbit...
Though I'm afraid it could be ruined...
You know, like when they make sequels to big movies..
Of course, this would be a prequel...

Ah well, the thing is, it'd be really cool if it was actually done!
But I'm not sure it will...

eternal hell and doom
to anyone who even has as little as some idle thoughts about making a movie based on the hobbit (may they be verry idle thoughts)

is my alltime favourite book and it's holy (or something pretty near)

will use my power as consumer: will refuse to watch it (said that as well about LOTR3 and saw that one twice <_< )

Do I have a veto-right?

I understand you, I absolutely adore that book, and even though it'd be nice to see it done into a movie, I'm not too positive about it...

Dunno, I get the idea that it'll be ruined

Yeah but a lot of people said that about Lord Of The Rings too, that they wouldnt see it because it would ruin the magic. And look how those turned out!

In my mind, Bilbo Baggins would always be Ian Holm and Gandalf Sir Ian McKellen. Anyone else would be :(

I saw the trailer, and it looks good. Like we needed something else to feed out expectation.... :anger:

I haven't seen the trailer for The Hobbit. I don't really think they should make a movie on it though. Because it would be back tracking to the beginning it seems. I heard they had thoughts of making a movie on The Silmarillion too. So . . . it would be odd having all J.R.R. Tolkien's best selling books turned into movies. The Lord Of The Rings movies are enough.

Luv,
Erin

 mmmh being so silent it hurts your ears

will I be nice and quiet? :lalala:

Big fan of the book

:ups: with all respect but if that blond bimbo or the whining mummy's kid replace my own characters, I'll hate PJ for ever

Don't worry, it's not a bad movie, but I just prefer my own fantasy
and I actually don't think they're bad actors
