Welcome to our site, folks!
However entwined the pathes may have been that led you here through the long darkness of the world wide web, feel warmly greeted.
We aspire to make this a cuddly place, a place to make us all feel a little bit like home, the eye in the center of a storm, or the embrace of a comfy wollen blanket in front of a campfire...
In order to achive that goal, naturally there have to be rules, to guide the peaceful, mutual environment - follow them and and let us all enjoy this place, it's not so much, that we ask for.
Thank you!
But as there have to be rules, there also has to be the chance to influence them, for every single member!
If you have questions, criticism or suggestions concerning these rules, feel free to post them either here or write a pm to any of the Fanfiction moderators (more general ones belong into the EWAC forum ---> Announcements and constructive criticism or EWAC forum ---> Help)
We will contemplate them dearly and throughoutly and change our rules or guidelines if we come to the realization that there is a point!!!
Fanfiction Rules:
1. Please entitle and rate your story!
Give your story a name instead of "My new story" or "Untitled yet", it looks nicer and also makes it easier for readers and guests to find their way through this jungle. Please also refrain from using caps, endless question marks, exclamation points and "Please read!!!'s", in titles or topic descriptions for aesthetic reasons.
Remember to rate them in order to let people know what they are getting themselves into beforehand, so as to allow the most sensitive ones to avoid what they don't like.
Ratings MUST be as follow: PG13, R, NC-17, Slash, Slash NC-17.
If you don't know which is which, please scroll down to the explanations about Ratings.
It is of basic importance you put a disclaimer, so that nobody can come up and report you and your creation to us, or plagiate your work.
2. Please don't plagiate!
I believe everybody knows the deal, it is completely and absolutely despicable to post stories, poems etc., you haven't written, under your name! Don't do that!
Not only because it is our rule, for we are not so naive to believe that someone who plagiates cares for these rules, but don't compromise your own integrity!
3. Please use a Spell-checker or Beta-reader!
I, as a non-native speaker myself, know how hard the english language can be sometimes, and we don't care if your grammar is not perfect, or your choice of words, but every word program has a spell checker, please use it, it just makes it easer for your readers!
In a short time, I will post up a list here where beta-readers can apply, not everybody has, can have, or needs a beta reader, but they can help you a lot to improve your skills and edit out the small flaws we all have.
4. Please give feedback!
The writers put a lot of effort into writing their stories, they post up here for you, please remember to leave a note when you read it, so you will asure that the writer stays motivated to continue!
5. Please don't mistake personal attacs for constructive criticism!
It isn't! Remember that every author works hard on his/her stories and deserves if nothing else a sensitive language from you, and if the author doesn't ask for it I would advice you to leave it in general. It can be hurtful, and very destructive for the writer. If you do decide to write criticism, put yourself into the writers place before you post, and contemplate whether it would hurt you!
I think it is self-understanding that senseless flames etc. are not tolerated!
6. Please don't discriminate!
Please accept that other humans have other opinions, attitudes, sexual orientations, geners, races, ethics or religions - please, please don't get into hateful discussions about them, and don't post comments with negative connotations - it is not worth it!
Tolerate members you don't understand, and you will be tolerated!
7. Please don't spam!
Spam are posts with contents that don't fit the topics, or don't say anything at all.
That may be chats in Fanfiction threads, or "New page jigs" or anything else, they may be fun for a while, but when that time is passed, it is not only boring but also has lowered the speed this side will take to built up - and that is something none of us wants...
If you still decide to spam you should not be too surprised when a moderator commentless deletes your post or writes you a pm, in which he asks you to change your bahaviour.
8. Please don't open a new thread for every single drabble!
Shortstories of over 500 words can have a new thread each, but please try to keep your drabbles in one, that makes it easier to find ones way around :)
