Title: Áine Máire's Autobiography
Description: Talk about myself you say?

Áine Máire - January 6, 2004 12:10 AM (GMT)
I'm a British girl living in Ireland. An entire family of Brits with London accents and little me has the strongest Irish accent possibly ever. Hate it. Stuck with it! I like Ireland. I hate the rain though... ^_^

Am all of 16 years, with a fair bit of knowledge and wisdom past my days... I bloody hope. Am always told to speak in simpler terms because my words are too big... it comes from being surgically attached to the thesaurus I use when writing.

Have been an only child all my life but any day now my mother will give me a brother to screw up my normal little life. Moved at the age of ten, wasn't exactly a trek of epic miles but still, leaving friends and family behind is always difficult. Was so depressed about it for a long time, while I'm still sad about moving, it's given me better possibilities for the future.

I love my friends. The short one, the blonde one, the previously blonde one who is now a red-head, the one who never shuts up and all the other various comfortable strangers that I attach myself to. They accept my bad moods, my rants, my obsessions, my loves and hates and I adore them to point of death and hope that we are never not friends.

I don't have a particular musical taste. I like the pop [Britney, Dido], the rock [Bon Jovi, Evanscence, The White Stripes, Nirvana], the country [Faith Hill, Shania Twain], the New Age [Enya], the punk [No Doubt, Sum 41] and have a certain love for movie soundtracks. As for movies, the same goes... I like romantic, action, comedy, thriller, horror, adventure... it all depends on the plot and actors I suppose.

I speak English - most days, a little Irish, a little French and a hint of Italian. Working on the Irish and French though! Very short person, everyone towers over me, which I don't mind at all... 'cause of course, it's the little people who do most damage!

Have a bad form of insomnia which is severely bad for someone doing important exams, which I was! But thankfully, I got the marks I wanted in the subjects I wanted to get them in... except French! Still working on it! But the sleeping disorder can be of a benefit at time (when I get inspired to write at 4am) and a hindrance at others (when I sleep for only 2 1/2 hours with school the next day).

So yeah... writing. Have always written essays a little longer and with more effort than most from around the age of 7. In recent years though, I have begun writing as a hobby and have discovered that I love it more than chocolate, fluffy slippers and Elijah all put together!

Seriously though, I'm definitely heading for a career in journalism and media with a writing career on the side. I want to travel to different countries, seeking out news and stories and reporting the truth... Very Lois Lane indeed, but it's my ambition.

Writing is a passion and a love that will never fade and never leave me, and to that I add reading. Without having read some novels by some great authors, I would never be in the head space I am to write today. I give endless thanks to those authors alive and dead who have inspired me.

I want to write a great novel one day. It's already planned God help me. And I know I'm not a good enough writer to pull it off yet. But everything is a learning experience. In college I will learn more, but until then, this is one of the places that I hope to learn more about the craft of literature.

Already, I have read stories here better than any I could ever come up with and know that people here will help me become a better writer. And I look forward to it! I have 2 Elijah fan fictions that I've been writing for what seems like years - I'm the slowest writer in existence. But I hope here I will find inspiration and help so that I may continue them to their finish.

Slán mo chairde nua!

Another journalist to come!
welcome to the club girl!

Yes, indeed for a 16 year old you have a very nice use of vocabulary. But I can't understand people would want to ask you to speak a simplere form of English. I love it when people talk like that!

Don't you give in there!

Love
Sophie
