Hi!

Admittedly it's our fault that we have to put this up, for we don't have a gallery yet, from wich you could choose your avater *bloody technique* ;)

So I thought to give you an explanation how to do them on your own :)

Everybody has paint, so I'll start with that:


Avatar-making in Microsoft Paint:


Step 1:
Open your paint program.

Step 2:
Go to "file" ---> "Open", and open the picture you want to use.

Step 3:
Use the tool of the right botton on the top of the left column, and chose the area of the picture you want to use.

Step 4:
Press Ctrl and C (copy it), open an new document, and make (at the edges) the white canvas very small.

Step 5:
Press Crl and V (paste it),

Step 6:
Go to "Picture" ---> "Strech and drag" (or something, sorry I have the german version) and type in the procent of how you will decrease the size (both columns should have the same!!)

Step 7:
Go to "Picture" ---> "Attributes" and check if the size fits the size for the banner, if not click onto "undo" and repeat step 6 until it fits

Step 8:
Click "File" ---> "Save"


Sorry if it is not understandbale, trying to do this and translate the programm language... is tough ;)

Hey Laila. This is Sam (obviously)...frodozfan81. ;)

Maybe you should make a thread here that shows who makes banners and schtuff so people would know who to turn to...maybe that shows a little example or links to an example, and tells what they can do as far as banners, avvys, moving schtuff, etc.

do u kno how 2 get an avatar w/o micosoft paint? cause i don't have that. . . and if not, when will the gallery b up?

I'm pretty sure the gallery is up.

Or what I like to do is use blinkies that I find! ("google search: blinkies" will get you a ton! do regular search, not image search). Just right click on a fun blinkie and save it!

When you click My Controls it takes you to your controls. Duh. Along the left hand side, there should be a grey panel. One link should say Edit Avatar Settings. Click this!

Now, there will be a place where it displays your current avatar (in your case, none). Then there will be two text boxes. One will tell you to type in the URL of your avatar. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS BOX! Then there will be another text box that says "Upload a new image from your computer" There will be a button next to this that says "Browse". CLICK THIS! Then go through your computer files and find where you saved the blinkie. Click on the file name of the blinkie. Click Open. Click Update Avatar Settings.

And voila! An avatar!

p.s. Most blinkies should be 150 x 20 pixels, so they should fit as an avatar.
