Title: To Old And New Buddies...
Description: (Do I know you?)

justbishop - December 31, 2003 06:35 PM (GMT)
tout le monde! (No, I'm not french, but am trying to learn)

My name is justbishop, or JB, and a friend of mine (horsewommanr (sp?)) from another EJW board directed me here on the basis of the phenominal fanfic section...let me say that I'm quite impressed, and hope to be posting some of my work here soon :)

A little bit about me:

I admit, I wasn't a Lij fan til I saw LOTR, but I have been quite devoted (in mind, anyway) since.

I am 24, and recently married. No human kids yet, but I have aquired lots of furry (and scaly) ones: 3 ferrets, a dog, a cat, 2 pet rats, and a cornsnake.

I am unemployed at the moment, but my last job was managing a pet store here in SC. I want to stay in the pet industry because I love animals, and am particularly intrested in dogs :) If you know nothing else about me, know that I love to talk about animals:)

I am also currently writing a book about dog training, so if you have a doggie problem, feel free to ask!

Hope I didn't overload you w/ info, and look forward to hanging out with you all!

No human kids yet

:lmao: That, amidst everything else, cracked me up for some reason haha! I'd love to get a dog but due to space constraint and all, we didn't have one. Ahh, the bad points of living in a flat, or as you may call it, 'apartment' in such a small country. I don't know anyone who has more than 3 pets, and that's rare even.

Hope to see you around the forum more!

Well I hope you have fun and I hope to see you around!

Just curious, Ryvyan, what small country do you live in? And isn't it funny how the English language differs from countyry to country?

Welcome JB, it's a pleasure noticing how the news is being spread around the net (eheheh! glances the Admins here, winking).

I am sure you are going to have a good time and we will enjoy reading your fics!

Thx again everyone! As for the dog eating your cracker...why was the cracker unattended where the dog could reach it, LOL (us trainers have a way of replacing "bad dog" with "bad person" )

Hey JB,

I'm so glab you like animals....so do I!!
I have 1 dog and 7 birds...

hope to see yea around!!
^_^

justbishop - January 3, 2004 10:49 PM (GMT)
ooohhh, I love birds! I used to have 2 white doves (War and Peace,) and they hatched 2 babies (Chaos and Order.) I loved the sounds they made ^_^

I also used to have an Indian Ringnecked Parakeet. His name was Harley (after Harley Quinn in Batman.) He was a cool bird, but I couldn't keep him in an apt. He was just too loud :(

Laila - January 4, 2004 12:27 PM (GMT)
*lol*
My mom is such an animal freak...
through my whole childhood she adopted so many wild animals that were sick of something... an little fox, hedgehog, many birds etc.
And we used to have donkeys, sheep and goats... chicken... dogs, cats...
Really... now that I live on my own I keep my hands of animals *lol*
Traumatizised...

lol

justbishop - January 4, 2004 10:06 PM (GMT)
Traumatized?! I would have LOVED to grow up like that! I envy you ^_^

Laila - January 4, 2004 11:16 PM (GMT)
Oh no you don't!

And not with a mom who can't keep her flat tidy and loves the stupid animals better then her kids...
Takes better care of them then for you...

whatever... the donkeys were cool...

LizzieLij21 - January 5, 2004 04:46 AM (GMT)
Hey JB

Welcome to the forums and I have to say that my mom is also a animal freak. She loves cats and at one point we use to have 18 cats (3 adults and 15 kittens. Two of the adult cats were female and they weren't neurted so that's why the 15 kittens.) But don't worry, we now have 3 new cats.

Hope you have fun here.

Lizzie

*gets up an soapbox...* And they're all spayed and neutered this time, right? ^_^

Thx for the welcome! I am already having lots of fun here!

LizzieLij21 - January 8, 2004 01:02 AM (GMT)
Yes they are. I meant to say that I have two cats instead of three.

Sorry about that.

Lizzie

justbishop - January 8, 2004 02:44 AM (GMT)
BTW, can anyone explain the "casting call" thing to me?

ninque elen - January 8, 2004 09:29 AM (GMT)
Off course we can
*smiles*

It's pretty simple actually.
If you have decided to write a certain fanfic. You need to have people in them. Some authors use imaginary characters but others ask people if they want to play along in a fic. Be one of the characters. That is a casting call...asking people to play along in your fic. I have noticed that some authors pick people who fit to the person they had in mind and other authors adapt the story to the persons who apply.

Advantage is usually that people who play along in a fic will read it to.

But not every author uses them. Some people ask friends or make imaginary characters. It's just what you want, you prefer.

Hum I hope I explained it a bit. English isnb't my own language so it is sometimes difficult to explain things!
